I hit a certain season in my life, ended up letting my license lapse and here I was now ready to get my license again. I'd been an active NYC driver the full twenty plus years, so I had no problem with driving (though I hadn't driven the 6 years that it had lapsed). In spite of my experience, I was, admittedly, definitely NOT road test ready. After working with Ben, I saw that I had MANY things to unlearn, relearn, and practice. If you're looking for a good driving school to help you pass your road test, LOOK-NO-FURTHER! Ben KNOWS what he is doing. I found him to be detailed, firm, clear, and very encouraging. A brand new driver would absolutely thrive with his approach. He is so so dedicated to his craft. I would wholeheartedly recommend Pierre Paul Driving school for any driver, whether new or seasoned. In fact, on the day of my road test, I encountered another student of theirs who traveled all the way from the Bronx to get his lessons with them. People are willing to travel to this place! Honestly, it's for good reason. Their prices are very fair and the process from start to finish (paying for classes, booking appts, taking the road test) is efficient and thorough. Maybe it was the customer service or perhaps the universe had the right school waiting for me. My brother just happened to be walking on the block where Alexander's Auto School & Services was located. He knew I was looking for a driving school so he inquired about the prices (which were fair) and I went over personally to ask questions and then made my payment. Trust me, we all say we can drive but the majority cannot. You see, Alexander made it super clear to me, he said "you have to learn to drive the way the DMV wants you to drive to pass the DMV road test". Whether you have experience or not, If your intentions is passing the DMV road test, then you must prepare to drive for the DMV road test. Alexander was beyond patient, friendly, professional, knowledgable, detailed, and the tips he gave me were priceless. Please note - we all are different drivers, with different strengths and weaknesses. I have years of experience driving abroad, but no experience driving the way the NYC DMV road test requires me to drive in order to pass. My time was limited, being my test was on 3/19. I literally took a Driving lesson with Alexander the day before (3/18) to help brush up on the necessary skills to pass the DMV road test. Alexander offered tips he could patent, seriously he's the man! He was also super honest regarding my strengths and weaknesses, I think that is really important. While driving to the DMV road test on 3/19, he quickly touched on the areas I needed to focus on. I followed his directions/method and I am super excited to say, I passed!!! His gentle mannerisms and patience work well with my boys. There is a posted review wherein the reviewer said his/her child was treated poorly because of her Middle Eastern background. This is simply not true. We are Lebanese and NEVER ONCE over the past ten years has Mr. Ezra, his wife or anyone at the studio, made us feel uncomfortable about our nationality or religion. In fact, in the last several concerts Mr. Ezra has played music of composers of Middle Eastern background with a fret-less guitar. It is a wonderful community that nurtures the students and brings out in them talent that they never knew they had. I hope that even if your children do not express an interest in guitar, that you try a few lessons with Ezra Guitar. Chances are, they will like it!
