I had to hang up on her because her tone was too loud and argumentative. I asked her about how file securities trading taxes. She made the claim that their procedure is to simply claim capitol gains or losses, however it isnt THAT simple, because securities exchanges will report every transaction record which occurred in the tax year. Losses can offset gains! She followed up with her ignorant remark: "If you dont know what it is that you're doing maybe you shouldn't be doing it" This is a clear indication that this firm has NO idea what they are doing. I opted to discontinue service and as a result my books are now being held hostage as they are claiming I owe a termination fee equal to three months service. The company has one employee, the owner Lori, and appears to be a side hustle, emphasis on hustle. Everything was very professional at first and after agreeing on services and making my initial payment things went down hill. I regularly felt like I had to hunt them down for updates or get information. When I did call I would often get yelled at about how they were busy and how dare I call without scheduling an appointment. I found this absurd as I was calling the number she provided and was assured I could contact whenever I needed anything no problem. I should have run when this occurred but trusted my friend that Lori was good at her job and would have my books sorted and well maintained. Unfortunately, I have no idea if this was true, as I was informed in January that I was being fired for not getting them a Christmas gift, when I asked for my data I was told they had deleted everything and to f-off. I would be more upset with my friend but a similar thing happened to them. Currently exploring options, though I suspect the best thing to do is cut my loses and pray I never have the misfortune of interacting with Lori again.
