The prices here tend to be slightly more expensive than Debenhams as well. It also tends to get extremely hot in here in the summer due to the lack of air conditioning.

The main downside that I have found is that the floor is very slippy on the ground floor, so if you don't have very grippy shoes you could easily slip over, or if it got wet. Nicely laid out, with all the usual Debenhams stuff. There is a cafe on the top floor, with comfy seating, but it is quite small and seems to be quite expensive too. It's ok though, although queues always seem long!

The Guildhall Shopping centre is located off the High Street in Exeter. It isn't huge, but it has a…read morenice selection of shops in there, including Treds, Woolworths, Argos, Sainsbury, Primark, Mothercare, Clare's Accessories etc. There are a few cafes in the centre, plus a smoothy/fresh juice place and a coffee bar upstairs. There is a cash point next to Sainsbury, and there are toilets upstairs, although the ladies toilet is usually very busy. You can walk all the way through centre and cut through to other shops like WH Smiths, Animal, Superdrug etc.

It has also lost it's 'home' section. The nearest home section is now in Torquay of all places and NOT the regions Capital! This is very poorly allocated, as Torquay doesn't have the 'footfall' of Exeter, and it's based in a very small and limited parking estate called 'The Willows'. Very inconvenient when this is over half an hour away, and then with 'seasonal' traffic, you are looking at more than double the time to get there. VERY off putting! Come on M&S! Pull your finger out and be more creative with what you have. I don't appreciate when I asked the question in store about homeware, to then be told "to look online"! I hardly call that 'customer service' in the first instance, and don't most people like to see what they buy before they buy it? rather than looking at a picture online??? If you have the patience to do that, then you might find something good in amongst all the designer tat! The Exeter store is quite large, and spread out over 2 floors. There are a huge number of trousers, tops, shirts, skirts, kids clothes, bags, books etc to wade through, but you might just find a couple of bits worth buying! There is a large free carpark at the Exebridges Centre, so you can take your time in the store.

I love the fact that you never know what you might find and when you do find something its quite special at a discount price. The shop is easy to move around, easily accessible and also contains house hold items, although i have never found anything particularly interesting. The staff are helpful if you want to try and find something in particular.

Princesshay Shopping Centre has become home to most of the larger chain stores in Exeter, with a…read morenew Debenhams, large branches of clothes shops like Next, and also Zavvi, dominating over this kind of new high street. Although it is sort of personalityless in the sense that they are all big brand name shops, it's a good place to scout round and do your shopping, and Exeter definitely needed something more upmarket. There are also a large range of restaurants and cafes to take a break out from shopping at.

The 'new' Princesshay shopping centre opened in 2007, replacing a 2 year building site, which had…read morein turn replaced an uninspiring old fashioned group of shops and flats. It has a range of mostly chain shops and restaurants, with a few independents thrown in for good measure. Far more interesting than the shopping is the design and architecture of the centre, which has been done quite sympathetically. The view of the Cathedral as you turn a corner walking through the shops, for example, is breath taking. Princesshay has given Exeter a far more upmarket feel, and shops in other parts of the town have pulled their socks up as a result.

I was told today to wait "72 working hours" for reply from their third-party merchant. And that I'd need to pay £4 more plus postage to return the item.
