They have a huge selection of band t-shirts and the cheapest body jewellery in Derby (£2.50 a piece!). Also have hair dye, bags, belts, buckles other fashion accessories. In that…read moretime, I have never, ever found such rude and bad mannered staff as I have at Viva Hate, Derby. We were in mid-afternoon and my son, 6, was looking at badges to buy. My partner bought him a Minecraft badge, and left the shop. As me and my son were getting ready to go, my son spotted some other Minecraft items, as six year old's do. I called him over, then looked at the counter assistant, who was looking supremely annoyed, and was grumbling to himself. I called my son over, and then looked once more towards the counter which is next to the door, and the assistant was literally scowling at us, and shaking his head. I said to him "what is the problem" Counter Assistant: "I want to go out, I have to go". (There was no way of us knowing this) I call my son, who came over... Me: "There's no need to be scowling at him, he's six years old!!!!!" C/A "It's not him" Me: "So I'm a problem now?, all I've done is bought an item and spent at most, 4 minutes in your shop, and you have the nerve to scowl at my six year old son" I was furious, and once my son was out of earshot, I gave the assistant a piece of my mind, not that he was in the least bit bothered. He shut the door and left the shop. I popped into the next door unit, which is also part of Viva Hate, and asked the counter assistant there what was the problem with the person next door. This counter assistant just scowled too!!! I have never, ever been to a shop that so clearly didn't want custom. It was like the sitcom Black Books, but nastier. Incidentally, we went straight from Viva Hate to a store next door, and they saw the look on my face and were totally, totally wonderful, and pretty much put me, my partner and son back on the track of having a lovely day out. Anyone heading derbywards, I IMPLORE you, do not go to Viva Hate, go to Asylum, find a Blue Banana, go to brum on a train. There is zero excuse for such rude behaviour from counter staff.

Helena is one of the most delightful ladies I've ever met and is certainly quite the opposite of a pushy seller. It is possible to spend a very long time indeed in here sifting through the rails, mentally rebuilding your entire wardrobe! One of my all time favourite clothes shops!

The shop sells clothes for both men and women with most of the pieces being a one off.... so if you like something well enough to pay the rather inflated price, the likely hood is that you will be the only person in Manchester wearing it! The shop is fairly small, but the wide range of stock is neatly placed on east access rails. The only downside is the staff sometimes seem to have been a little distracted when I popped in, I don't know if this is because I am not head-to-toe in designer gear, but I get the feeling it is!

I called in to find a top but the store really doesn't aim at me as I am under 30 and poor! Although they did have a sale rail with some reasonably priced goods. The quality of clothing is excellent, you can feel it in the clothes. The store is well presented and well laid out and is always busy. They do have occasional charity fashion shows which are worth the ticket price. Worth a look if you are after something very classy, maybe for a wedding? There is no parking specifically but the street outside you can park for free but spaces are limited.

Whoever designed the window display is an artist as a scarecrow dressed in the most yummy butterfly halter-neck stands in a landscape of flowers. I entered in a trance like state and the lovely assistant Rebecca helpfully talked me through the stock. I loved the fact that they do not buy in bulk and you view each garment as a "piece" rather than simply clothes. Prices are moderate, slightly more than high street chains but you don't mind paying £60 for a unique Nood creation as opposed to £45 for a high street clone. Colours are bright and fabrics are great quality. Recognisable names such as Religion get into bed with new designer wares. This is no run of the mill ladieswear. A new range of gorgeous dove grey vintage inspired oilcloth bags and cute jewellery are also available to compliment your outfit. Open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am -6pm, Nood also opens its doors on a Sunday (12-5pm)- very handy for weekday nine to fivers. So did I buy the butterfly dress? This longevity is testament to the enduring talent of owner Alison, who has continually offered an eclectic mix of clothes, accessories and shoes from her own portfolio as well as interesting ranges from other designers like Religion, Gash and Get Cutie. It never feels stagnant in here, she keeps it fresh and all the accessories, bags and belts are so different to what you'd find on the high street. What I love most about this store though is it caters for every pocket. You can see why it has such a wide appeal.
