From anything from home such as electronics, beds, carpets, furniture... To beauty, clothes and toys, fabrics and little presents. I'm not sure if it's the best place to dress for woman up to 35/40 years old.. But the home stuff is just lovely to watch for any age group! The only downside I have notice with some products, the quality went a bit down for the price it costs. You would expect a table for almost £1000 to be at least stable and from a good solid material.. Otherwise, I still love going there time to time even just to have a look and their catalogs are full of inspiration :) Regarding the staff, they are always helpful, polite and not pushy - and that's one of the reasons why I prefer to go there rather than other department stores where you can meet unnecessarily too many employees trying to engage conversation with you. I prefer my own time and when I need somebody I will ask and there is always somebody in sight

Basically you order on-line and you can click and collect at this store. The place is normally empty and does not really have a purpose apart from take a highly sought after unit in the centre. It has fitting rooms but there is not much you can do if you have already ordered it in. It is basically House of Fraser saying that Aberdeen will never be worthy of a House of Fraser store again. Pointless really.

Store felt cramped and they had people sweeping/cleaning with tons of customers in store - poor timing in an already crowded store. Tea-room had a dicebel level louder than a L. Zeppelin concert. The food sections is quite expensive and products are exclusively branded/produced (?) by M&S, but the selection is large and diverse. Shopping here for food, I imagine, is as close as I get to having a Whole Foods-like shopping experience in Aberdeen. They have some ethical and environment- friendly services and products, i.e. fairtrade coffee and tea and 10p shopping bags. The clothes and home sections on the first and upper levels are rather ordinary. Clothing styles are more traditional and nothing too fashion forward. They have a little bit of everything, mostly basics.
Miss Selfridge
This is one of my favourite shops in Aberdeen for accessorise and work dresses…read more I always get compliments and asked where did I buy it. In particular they are good in ear cuffs and embellished/sequin dresses but one must remember, MS is a compromise between price and quality and such stuff doesn't last long, this kind of dresses are made mainly to wear once/to look at or one has to be very careful once wearing them. I think this is a good shop when you want something decent/different looking for OK price. You can find some steals there, but you also have to watch out because some items can have the quality at the level of Primark. There is also second MS within Outlet close to Union Square, where you can find a little different range of products. Or you can buy online and have it delivered to the store, which I use quite often. There are sometimes slaw vouchers online, but then again sometimes you will find even better deals in store }:)

From the owner: Welcome to the Academy Aberdeen. We're a little bit different... but we know you'll like that…read more Located in a converted Victorian school building in the heart of the city centre, the Academy has a relaxed, fun atmosphere. We're especially proud of our central open-air courtyard, offering a chilled setting for alfresco eating and drinking from the likes of Nandos, Costa Coffee, Wagamama and our new bar restaurant Rye and Soda. Small but perfectly formed, the Academy houses some of the UKs most exciting brands with both national and local operators. The Academy is...rocking out on a Fender, slurping a barista coffee, loving a spicy noodle fix, sampling Diesel jeans, styling your hair, getting your peri peri on, supping ale, looking Pretty Green, relaxing in a rum lounge and getting on a fabulously British Jack Wills hoody... all in one afternoon. Our mix is eclectic, but who wants to be boring? Come join us, we know you want to...

My visit to Slater's Menswear Aberdeen to buy a suit was very disappointing compared to many previous experiences of shopping there. Firstly it is my perception that the manager thinks he's too important to be helpful (been served on previous occasions by this gentleman and he could not have been more helpful). He said, "I will get one of my assistants to help you"... a couple of minutes later an assistant came over and said "try this on for size"... and it was so tight I could not get it off... he did not provide any assistance for me to take the jacket off and I had to "shake" until it slipped down off my shoulders. The next jacket he asked me to try on and he said "that fits perfectly" and I said, "are you sure, I can't move my arms?" I could not have been more polite and decided to leave the suit as I could not cope with the lack of service. I was ready to spend a substantial amount of money but decided to take my custom elsewhere. I did purchase trousers that were £60 and the cashier had a face like thunder and "threw" the trousers in a bag like an old rag. I will not be going back there.
