I'd like to point out that the staff were amazing, really friendly and inquisitive. My issue is with Dr. Igal Khorshidi, I went in for a consultation and the doctor was the rudest and most impatient doctors I've ever interacted with. I explained that I was a bit embarrassed about my visit and he said "you're joking right? I've heard it all" with a really smug tone, it wasn't in a friendly joking manner that would put anyone at easy, he lacked empathy which is crucial with someone who's in the medical field. The consultation lasted less than 4 minutes, which he rushed me through, he even did a circle motion with his hands as to hurry me up, I felt so uncomfortable that l couldn't tell him my reasons for the consultation. He might be a doctor and have the credentials but he is not a good person, is impatient and seems like he has a short temper. If you're desperate and think "well I got an appointment fast, this is great" don't even bother this doctor is not there to help, just collect a check.

I asked if the office accepts both my insurances, and they reassured me that they did via phone call. Thus, I scheduled an appointment. The appointment itself was disappointing. Firstly, the attending PA never formally introduced himself to me. He also never directly asked me what my health concerns were. He simply asked me basic medical history questions, which led me to believe he was an MA. Once I realized he was the PA, I expressed my concerns and reasons for my visit. (I also never met with Dr. Igal in either of my visits, which was never communicated.) My first visit was on a Saturday, in which I provided both my insurance cards for verification. A few days later, on a weekday, the office called me and stated that they did NOT accept my primary insurance, but rather only my secondary insurance. I expressed that this would be an issue, as my secondary insurance requires that I visit in-network offices for my primary insurance. The office insisted that because they accepted my secondary insurance, I would have no issue with my primary insurance/billing. In addition, the receptionist stated that they were NOT able to verify even my secondary insurance. They claimed that my secondary insurance appeared to be invalid. I knew this was certainly incorrect, as I was utilizing my secondary insurance in other offices. Turns out, they were entering my incorrect birth date. Then, Maria, the office manager, insisted that I come in for a follow-up appointment despite this insurance confusion. Thus, I came in for a follow-up appointment and asked to speak with Maria upon arrival. Maria and the PA both met with me. Maria insisted that my secondary insurance would cover my visits at this office, despite my primary insurance not being accepted at this office. I expressed that I did NOT believe this to be correct. Maria insisted that I would NOT receive any bill from this office. I even asked her if I could get this statement in writing, to which she replied, "I've never written a letter like that, but, believe me, if you get a bill from us, you can personally come yell at me." Well, I received a bill after all. I called the office to dispute this bill. Maria called me back, and said she was going to follow up regarding whether my secondary insurance was billed or not. She specially stated, "It seems this is a copay, but I don't believe your secondary insurance was billed. The lab is supposed to call me around 11 am tomorrow and I will confirm if they billed your secondary insurance or not." I never heard from her again. I had to email the office multiple times to even get a response. I even specifically asked the receptionist when calling regarding this matter, whether I should be contacting their office or the lab regarding this lab dispute. The receptionist told me to email their office, which I did. This entire experience has been extremely unpleasant and inconvenient. Avoid this office.

RUDE, BOSSY, INCONSIDERATE SUPPORT STAFF AND PSYCHO DOCTOR…read moreFind another gastrointestinologist. After my first colonoscopy, two staffers woke me up and immediately started telling me, "Sit up! Stand up! Get up! Walk!", etc. - AFTER I HAD JUST WOKEN UP FROM A GENERAL ANESTHESIA! I mentioned it to the staff and to Dr. Wang before my next procedure, and had another colonoscopy and an endoscopy which were fine. But it was back to the same old song & dance for my most recent endoscopy. I even reminded Dr. Wang before the procedure about this problem in order to avoid a repetition, but it was no use. Another staffer did this to me as I was coming out of anesthesia. After the procedure, I complained to the desk staff, and got treated like I was the one who did something wrong! Dr. Wang himself came out and TACKLED me as I was waiting for the bathroom! Yes, PHYSICALLY grabbed me, roughed me up, accused ME of being abusive, and threatened to call the police on me! All this for the "crime" of asking to be treated with a little respect. If you've never had a colonoscopy or endoscopy before, let me tell you it is not a pleasant experience. The day prior to and morning of a colonoscopy you have to drink this solution that makes you poop out everything inside of you, and comes out of you in a liquid form. So you're on the throne about every 30 minutes. The day of the procedures, you have to fast all day (AND the day before for a colonoscopy) and aren't allowed to drink ANYTHING - even WATER. On top of that, I'm 57. These gals who did this to me were definitely younger than me. So much for the sacred, ancient Oriental custom of treating your elders with respect. Given the discomfort of the prep and the procedure itself, you'd think they could do a little more to make patients comfortable and make an unpleasant experience as painless as possible for their patients. Well, think again. They're more concerned with clearing out the OR for the next patient. I can understand the need to stay on a schedule, but this is overkill. I'd rather face a long waiting period if it means that during and after my procedure I can be treated with a modicum of respect and consideration.

They must desist insisting on giving appointments only to have us wait additional hours for a procedure that in itself takes additional hours to perform? The pop music coming through their speakers exacerbates the headache. Wish they'd play The Piano Guys, or Instrumental Jazz or anything other than the background static noise. It does nothing to ease the physical and mental unease from the toll this procedure produces. This is by no means a reflection on Dr. Shalomov. Again, his bedside manner is exceptional. Sweet Marisol, a young woman (they all seem so young), took my blood pressure. The anaesthesiologist was rougher than the previous one during the colonoscopy. If you can, request for Dr. David Chang. He's gentle, kind, and has a clue. Side note: please provide gluten free options of crackers, pretzels, or cookies. The nurse was giving me crackers stating "you'll be alright. It just has wheat and soy". Wheat....is gluten. Not up for hives, and allergic reaction after a procedure. Hope this review helps improve what others have voiced as needing improvement. Again, no reflection on Dr. He is excellent. ------- Review submited August 2022 ------- Colonoscopy procedure was performed earlier this month. And though initially the music played in the waiting room did nothing to soothe the anxiety deriving from lack of nourishment, (it was an afternoon appt) and the increasing concern for what may be found, the procedure itself is what leads to my the 5-star rating. The anesthesiologist, Dr. David Chang , used strategies to calm the anxiety. Through an offer to pray for me based on my personal faith, Adrian provided comfort. And through a warm smile, and the assurance everything will be alright, Dr. Shalomov's bedside manner was wholeheartedly appreciated. Although I am not looking forward to the upcoming endoscopy, we know these are necessary to prevent the "If you'd come sooner..." sobering prompt. My only suggestion is to play instrumental, or upbeat music to help those waiting for long hours in the waiting room alongside those who greet us at the door.

This procedure was presented as a solution that would help me lose weight and improve my health, but it turned out to be a complete scam. Not only did it fail to deliver any of the promised results, but after I complained, the "solution" offered was for me to start taking injections and pills--even though I already have a medical condition that makes this unsafe. Instead of standing behind the procedure or addressing the failure, I was pushed toward more treatments and expenses that I cannot and should not take. After going through the expense, the stress, and the recovery process, I saw absolutely no benefit. The results simply did not match what was advertised or explained beforehand. Patients put their trust in a doctor's word and expertise, but in this case, I feel that trust was broken. I strongly urge anyone considering this procedure with Dr. Batash to do thorough research and think twice before moving forward. I WANT MY MONEY BACK--------

Disappointing, Painful, and Misleading Bariatric Balloon Experience - Requesting Refund…read more I underwent a Bariatric Balloon procedure on 08/13/2025, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had. From the moment I woke up, I felt horrible--severe stomach pain, nausea, shaking, and chills. Initially, I thought it was from the anesthesia, but once I got home, things only worsened. I began vomiting uncontrollably, and immediately asked my wife to call the doctor. We returned to Dr. Batash's office the same day requesting removal, but were told the anesthesiologist had already gone home. Instead, I was kept for several additional hours, given fluids and pain medication, and strongly encouraged to keep the balloon in. I was told my body simply needed time to adjust. Reluctantly, I agreed--but that was the worst decision I could have made. The balloon did not agree with my body, but I was repeatedly told this was normal. For the entire time it was in place, I was miserable--I could barely eat, could only tolerate fluids, suffered from severe acid reflux, constant bloating, and could not comfortably lie on my back or right side. Eventually, I requested removal, but was given the runaround until I insisted on showing up in person. Only then did I learn that Dr. Batash was not even in Florida, but at his New York office. After multiple delays, the balloon was finally removed on 09/01/2025. Once removed, Dr. Batash told me I had a lot of food stuck at the top of my stomach, even though I had been on a 3-day clear liquid diet prior to removal. This explains why I had been vomiting uncontrollably--the small amount of solid food I consumed simply could not pass through. What frustrates me most is the lack of transparency. During the consultation, it was never disclosed that the program expects patients to take phentermine and/or Ozempic in addition to the balloon. Coming to Dr. Batash, I wanted a more permanent solution, not to be dependent on additional medications and their side effects. If I had known this, I never would have gone through with the procedure. In my opinion, the balloon is meant for portion control, while phentermine suppresses appetite--but comes with side effects and significant weight regain once you stop. Having used phentermine before, I refused it. After removal, I was then encouraged to start Ozempic, which I also declined. In addition to the physical suffering, I feel I wasted thousands of dollars and weeks of my time, and overall, I feel like I was misled, misinformed, and even scammed. Because of this, I am requesting a full refund. For anyone considering this procedure: ask very clearly about all medications, side effects, and the full treatment plan before you commit. Don't assume the balloon is the only part of the program. Make sure you understand exactly what you're signing up for, so you don't end up in the same situation I did--losing time, money, and peace of mind, while experiencing unnecessary pain.
