I'm quite disappointed to be writing this. We just moved to High Point, and were hopeful to find a local shop we could trust. Came to Newton's because of the reviews. I sat with them while my car was getting worked on. I was a bit uncomfortable with them talking about bankruptcy while I was in their presence, but did my best to ignore, and not eavesdrop. They replaced a battery on my Honda CR-V, and asked me to return the next day for the tires. In replacing the battery, the Honda computer systems did not come back online. They told me they tried to fix them, but could not, and that it would be no problem for the dealership to do so. This knocked out everything from lane assist to cruise control. The next day a sensor went off 1 minute from leaving them- the technician had not filled the tires back up after putting them on. Then I get a text from them asking if a headlamp was in my car. Finally my "no problem" reset to the computer systems cost an additional $114 at the Honda dealership. Please be aware of this potential, if you are considering letting them change your battery. When I texted to let them know this had happened, their response was offensive to the point that I felt compelled to let others know of their customer service. read more

I recently made a review for this company, I still stand with my original perception and strongly urge you to you a different mechanic, but the pressure from the review actually made Greg return the parts our warranty company previously sent to his shop so way to go Greg Newton for your judgement call. I still think you should have maintained a professional standpoint and returned the parts before a bad review like this forced you to. They were extremely short staffed for the amount of work they had I guess. Very hard to get a return call through the process but definitely it was because of being busy. Now the actual work and diagnosis was not efficient. No problem there. read more

Newton's just did an annual inspection for my M3 - despite being busy they had me in and out within a half-hour and were courteous and accommodating. Their waiting room has clean, comfortable chairs and free coffee & soda. All the guys are competent, professional, and considerate. Definitely one of the best shops I've ever been to. read more

Very pleased with my first visit to Newton's Car Care. I simply needed an oil change and a NC State inspection. I came in without an appointment, and they had my car in the garage within 15 minutes. The front desk staff was very nice, and the waiting area was comfortable, if a bit dated. Midway through the service, they offered to change my filters, air and cabin. The price was reasonable and there was no pressure to do so. I had them go ahead and do it. They use synthetic blend motor oil on all there oil changes, so really, you can probably go well beyond the recommended 3,000 mile interval, which died with the days of inefficient engines and conventional oil. The service took about an hour total, including the 15 minute wait. I received email and text updates on the service and a vehicle condition report. Nice to see a local shop be a bit tech forward in their dealings. Would recommend this shop to anyone in the High Point area. read more

Took my Ridgeline there for 90K timing belt change at same time had brake job Was done on time runs better than when I took it in. Car repairs are not cheap today but their prices are comparable. I chose this shop to replace my car's window relay because of the 5 star review on Google. On the phone Josh was very friendly and helpful, however when I arrived Greg Newton (owner/owners Son) was very rude and unprofessional. My car was supposed to be fixed the next day but I heard nothing, my calls were not answered or returned. Then on the third day I received a text from Greg at 2 pm saying my car would be done by 5:30 and he would call me at 4:30. I texted and called from 4:30 to after 5 pm, with no answer. When I arrived around 5:30 my car was "done" but they could not find my keys and my car was blocked into the backlot. They asked that I come another day to get it. The next 24 hrs no one answered my calls or texts again. When we showed up for the second time (day 4) I was told that Greg Newton had misplaced my keys and was arrested. I brought my spare key to retrieve my vehicle this time and I realized my A/C and radio were on, but I had shut them off at drop-off. I looked at my mileage picture from the day I dropped it off and 27 miles had been added to my vehicle and 1/4 tank of gas was missing. THEN when I got home I found a paring knife and long-neck lighter in my glove compartment! I decided to look up the arrest report for Greg Newton and it was from 8/12/23 where he had a hit and run property damage, DWIR after impaired revocation notice, and failing to maintain lane control. This means he drove my car WITHOUT a license! I am absolutely furious! read more

Newton has my car since Aug 2022 and has neglected to communicate with my extended warranty company to get the issue fixed. You can never get anyone on the phone and when you do everyone is confused. They expect the customers to have sympathy for the company but they lack the sympathy for how the customers are going and have to deal with out having their vehicle at hand. The new service manager Chris is extremely rude and lacks understanding of situations that may have occurred before he even arrive to work at the company he definitely is not a good addition to the Newton family. Every time that I call or try to get someone on the line theyhave 1000 excuses as to why they have not reached out to me nor began the service or labor on my vehicle. I understand that businesses have issues but this is ridiculous and they are not trying to rectify the situation in any type of speedy manner. Parts have been stolen off of my car Sis has been on their property. I am completely over this situation. If the company does not have things in order maybe they should close while they figure things out read more

These mechanics supposedly fixed a safety issue with my steering tire rod including an alternator problem. After Newton's Car Care "repairs", I kept hearing grinding noises when I accelerated or turned so had another mechanic check out my car. They still found these problems to be unresolved and more. Now I do understand that I have an old car (2000 Toyota Avalon) but that's why I paid for Check Engine Light Testing for $130 and $65 to have a Test Charging system (which basically because the check engine light was on) to tell me everything that was wrong with my car. (And I recorded this initial conversation so I won't get ripped off by another mechanic.) I wouldn't be surprised if the light was disabled after their work. I also had yet another mechanic do an inspection not voicing any of my concerns and still he came up with a list of several things in need of repair just like the other guy which also included axle shaft assemblies and stabilizer bar. Newton's Car Care is pretty sorry. They didn't even respond to my BBB complaint. If they did a good job, why won't they respond and defend themselves? Looks like I'm going to have to sue them after all for them to acknowledge me and get justice. Or do they do this to minority women without a second thought? I'll keep you updated. . . read more

My car wouldn't start. I took it to Newtons Car Care. Christain laughed and said my battery cable only needed to be tightened down two more notches and I was charged $65 and some change. 2 days later the same problem. I wiggled the loose battery cable and got it to start. It was so loose I could pull it straight off. 3 days after that the same issue. I decided to take it by Advance S. Main HP to see if the battery cable was tightened and was told the terminal wasn't all the way down. The guy fixed it. I called and told Greg he didn't fix my car. Greg refused to accept responsibility for not fixing my car and hung up on me. He even accused me of letting someone else mess with it. Liar and thieves at Newtons. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GREG NEWTONS CAR CARE. read more

I honestly wish there was a way that I could give a negative 3 or more stars for this sorry company. This raggedy, dirty, junk infested, unreliable, untrustworthy, disrespectful, racially motivated, distasteful, non repairing, lost in the shuffle sorry excuse for a car repair shop needs to be closed down. After having a vehicle sit here for a year only to not be repaired properly is insane! Every time we called, the so-called owner had an excuse, or one of his disrespectful goons to respond in an unprofessional manner. Only to keep calling back weeks at a time to never receive a decent response, or an answer in general. While on their lot my vehicles catalytic converter was stolen and they took 5 months to order that part and put it back on, and THAT wasn't even the initial problem. But want to charge a storage fee? As a business owner myself, I tried to understand the nature of what was happening with the business when we did get a halfway decent response 4 months ago. I've exercised plenty of patience only to be bullied within the last few days with $100 lien to pick up my vehicle that is still not repaired or fixed as it was supposed to be initially when dropped off a year ago. Not to mention to be talked to nasty and real disrespectful like today. Today was so distasteful when trying to come to some understanding with the office. I will NEVER use or recommend this company again nor will I ever send any business their way. And will do everything possible to make sure the city knows, this is NOT THE PLACE TO GO for car repairs. Great staff, wonderful service. They inspected my car pointed out a few things that could use some work, but weren't completely necessary. They also provide an email report of everything to reference later. I definitely recommend Newton's Car Care. They even have Netflix in the waiting area if you don't want to leave while they perform the work/maintenance. This place is awesome! read more

I have never once had a problem with Newton's Car Care. Other mechanics that I have went to, I have had some type of problems with. But not with Newton's Car Care. Every since I have taken my car there, not once did I have to ever bring it back because it was misdone. They always go over and beyond to help and please their customers. Newton's provided me with great customer service. I've had my car in their shop twice. Both times they called me to tell me what was going on, where they were in the process and advised me of any change in the original price. I had my car back within a day both times. They answered all my questions and explained everything they were doing. The problems with my car were fixed. My very first experience with them was stellar. They made sure I was able to be at work while my car was being fixed, working with my work hours and providing transportation for me. I've always felt nervous with other auto shops. I have to call them to see if my car is ready and never know what's going on or how much it's going to end up costing. Newton's never left me in the dark. Art stayed in touch, calling multiple times to update me. Other shops could learn something from these guys. Customer service goes a long way. Newton's takes care of the car AND the driver. read more
