The most well known one was Muriel's wedding. The dress, shoes and photos are on display with a story. We were greeted at the door and were able to chat and ask questions. There is the historical society in situ and I was able to get some information about genealogy. The displays are on two levels and there is a lift. There is plenty to look at and read. I would allow 1-2 hours to take it all in....and it is free.

Most of them used to work in the telecommunications industry and really know their stuff. They will tell you stories about the history behind the machines, how they work, and even can demonstrate them in action. Plan to spend a few hours there. The only disadvantage is that it is only open on Wednesdays. But if you have any interest in technology and/or telecommunications, it is worth making time to visit this museum.

Being able to visit an Opal museum/shop in Australia has been a huge dream of mine since I was just a little girl 'ooo-ing' and 'ahh-ing' over these fiery treasures.
