I like this place. I've gotten fair prices on the items I've sold to them and had fun just people…read morewatching there. I was impressed with the way took care of me.

You lose credibility and trust with the customer when you lie…read more "Rule number one: the customer is always right. Rule number two: If the customer is wrong, please refer to rule number one." I have been conducting business with Good Fortune of Keene NH for 2 years. On 10-15-26 SCRAP GOLD INCIDENT/EMPLOYEE RATING Background of my experience with Good Fortune : my business with the pawn shop portion for 2 years, started at receiving 80% spot price of gold from Judy. Then later it dropped to 70% spot price. I was discouraged to find out that this past year they dropped their payouts to 65% spot price. With that said I do not know other pawn shops in the area, they are local and easy to work with, that is until yesterday with my unprofessional experience with an employee named Eric. I scrapped a lightweight 10k gold ring that weighed on my scale 1.2 grams. On his scale 1.1 Yesterday's spot on 1.2 grams was $67 at 65% I should had received $43.55 rounding it off to $44 He told me they only give 55% of spot, that in fact they started the 55% in 2026. I told him that was not correct that I always get 65% and in fact it used to be 70% of spot. He repeatedly said No , that is not true, its always been 55% this year. Like a child he argued the fact at least 6 times, no, no, no, you might of thought you were getting 65% but we paid you 55%, or no you never got 65%. Just on and on alike a child. He wanted to only give me $30 Then he said wait one minute let me talk to Judy and see if I can get you 65%. He came back and said, yes I can, did his calculator impressions 3 times and said I can give you $33, let me round that off to $34, basing it on 1.1 grams not the 1.2 grams it actually weighed. This would be basing it on $62, now do the math what is 65% f $62= roughly $40.30 So in fact he still did not give me the 65% NOW I KNOW NOT TO TRUST THIS MAN!! The woman waiting behind me, heard him blatantly lie, offer only 55%, bicker with me and she walked away, as she left he said I can help you in a minute, she replied, that's ok, I have to go. She did not want to deal with him. I am writing today to warn others and perhaps Good Fortune can improve their business moto if they had better customer relations and meet customer expectations with tact. Eric's actions are a reflection of the company's reputation and yesterday he brought their reputation to a sinking low. Roger (who is very nice and professional) the owner needs to be informed about this latest, shameful employee action and he needs to address Eric in a timely manner. I used to manage businesses and this is a very poor reflection of customer relations and satisfaction. Word of mouth travels fast and this could harm a reputable business if not addressed. For all of the reasons above, and a few more, you don't want to lie. A lie will come back to you in only negative ways. Being labeled a liar is not what you want to be known for. You won't find people saying he or she is a good person and a wonderful liar.
