There is something nice about wondering through an unfamiliar place and then seeing a pub appear out from amidst the factories that dot the area (this part of Bendigo appears to be the industrial centre). Once again this pub had a beer garden that seemed to be little more than the old backyard, but since smoking has been banned in pubs and clubs, many pubs have appeared to establish beer gardens so as not to loose patronage. The thing that I have discovered about many of the pubs out here is that when you order a beer they serve it in glasses with handles, and this pub was no different. However it was a nice pub with friendly staff, and I always feel flattered when the barmaid rushes up to serve me (though no doubt it is just the country hospitality). read more
