She then proceeded to tell me about the photos on the wall which showed the pub how it looked in the past, and also told me that there used to be a lady's lounge (at which point one of the old guys blurted out that ladies don't come to the pub anymore). There was a beer garden out the back, but it seemed to be more like a back garden with some tables thrown around, not that it was bad per se, it was just a lot more homely. There is also a room with a pool table as well as a restaurant.

This was probably a pub at one stage, and in a way it still is. The reason I suggest that is…read morebecause it still has a bar, and you can still sit at the bar and have a drink. This place wasn't too bad, though the tap beer selection was rather limited. Mind you, I did end up coming here rather late, so it was quite, but the service wasn't bad, and the place did have some charm about it, so I guess I'll have to say that I like it.

Room with queen bed, bathroom and very well appointed. Across the road (and part of the same group) is the Wine Bank. Fantastic array of wines especially local. Be sure to have a drink and eat in the courtyard if the weather permits. Very relaxing and definitely would recommend!
My wife and I stayed at a fountain view suite the night of our wedding, (03/07/18), which our…read morefamily booked for us as a gift. We woke up the next morning to realise that we had been burgled while we were asleep in the room, my wife's purse which held the money we received as wedding presents was stolen. We were told by the house keeper that a key to our suite was in an unlocked drop box and that anyone who was inside the building or knew the code to get into the hall where the drop box is could enter our room, however we have heard multiple stories about how many keys and where they were from this hotel. Our safety and security was at a serious risk and this simply should not have been possible. We have had to spend the days after our wedding with police and detectives because of this aggravated burglary. We asked the hotel manager to reimburse our family for money that they paid for the room first and was refused, we then asked to be reimbursed for the stolen goods which included wedding gifts, and they have so far refused and will not take responsibility for the lack of safety and security, although we believe an unauthorised person entering our room at night is clearly a breach of security. We have not heard back from the hotel so far. We hope that we can be reimbursed and this is a one time thing as we would hate for this to happen to anyone else.

Okay, it happens to be in Bendigo, but Bendigo, despite being a regional centre, still has a very country town feel to it, and this pub is a case in point. Look, it wasn't too bad, though the beer selection was a little limited. The service was okay, but the pub was actually quite nice, even though it tended to be more modern than the ones that I tend to prefer.

The first course was either steak or chicken. I opted for steak. It was served on a small bed of a cold cous cous salad and a side of brocollini. The steak was so tough it was difficult to cut ( no steak knife provided). My daughter could not even cut hers. Dessert was cheesecake or apple crumble. Both looked delicious. The cream on the crumble had a weird taste to it, may have been creme fresh, not sure. All in all for the price we had to pay the meal was very disappointing.

However, it was quite comfortable, and the service was pretty good, including not just looking after by bags, but moving them into the room afterwards as well. Oh, and the other pretty cool thing is that it is next to a pub. Not one of the best, but close enough nonetheless. Mind you, the pool isn't really one for doing laps in though.
