We had a lovely Mother's Day brunch with my 92 year old mother, sister and niece. We enjoyed the festive atmosphere and the buffet was plentiful. We had mimosas to start. Each of us enjoyed the varied brunch menu - including the blueberry stuffed French toast, prime rib and lox and bagel table. The desserts were delicious too! Took the Jetski over to the Newfound Inn on a beautiful Wednesday evening for dinner with my spouse. The meal was delicious however the service was incredibly slow. Ruined an otherwise nice evening. Our waitress doubled as a bartender and spent way too much time chitchatting amongst colleagues. Folks at the table over from us were unhappy with their experience as well. I ended up walking up to the reception register in order to pay so we could leave. Not our only less-than-pleasurable experience at this restaurant. read more

The place itself is gorgeous but I wasn't impressed by my experience. I came for dinner with some friends and requested to sit on the upper deck. The tables and chairs are super comfortable and there is a great view of the lake. I would recommend stopping in for a drink, but maybe skip the food. Drink menu - limited selection. Decent pricing. Food menu - limited selection. Pricy. Service - Our waitress was great, at first but quickly because MIA and brought out a side of sauce 20 minutes after we asked for it, and when our plates were already empty (awkward!). It would have been fine but she made it awkward and then it felt like she was avoiding us after that. Food - The food was also lackluster. There was no free bread or starter to get the night going, which is always disappointing. Then we had mixed reviews on food. The prime rib was good but the lobster scampi was tasteless. We called ahead to see if the chef could make something that would accommodate my plant-based diet and she came up with a grilled vegetable medley with roasted potato rounds that was absolutely wonderful. We had a sad & bad experience at their Mother's Day Brunch 5/10/26 @ their 10:00 seating. Our tables were in the back corner with no windows w/ the lake view close to us only the kitchen door & another room entry door with a very wobbly table. There was not much of a food Iselection. The video of the brunch was not like reality. The sausages were fat and under cooked inside & out, the bacon looked like it was cooked in a microwave, not crispy at all. The broccoli cheddar soup was unflavorable & crunchy. The Mississippi Mud Pie had no taste. The OJ was watered down, the coffee was way too strong. We had to ask for extra creams & ketchup which were not on the table. We just did not enjoy our experience @ The Newfound Lake Inn. With tip, taxes, one coffee, 4 juices & 5 people eating, our bill was about $425. We feel like fools. We didn't complain while there because my wife didn't want to cause a scene & ruin our time with our family. But, it ate at me all day long since. I have to warn other people about their brunches. Attended a wedding event this weekend. The staff was professional and polite. The servers were all very friendly and accomodating. They seemed to really enjoy their job which is rare nowadays. The food was delicious, the best food I have experienced at a wedding venue, but also the best food period! The room we had was small but clean and refreshed. The bed was comfortable. The shower took a little time to heat up but once it did, it was good all the way through. Would definitely stay here again. Just ate dinner here, it was so bad. I am not sure who the chef is now but they need to find another one. The french onion soup used to be great, it went from $7.00 to $11.00 and it sucked! Ordered hot pastrami sandwich which came ice cold with cold cheese. Asked for bread 3 times never brought to the table. we went there at 5:30 and there was only 1 other table seated. How could everything be so poor when they are not even busy.I live on the lake and people visit and we go to dinner. Last time I will bring anyone here to eat. We were a party of seven last night had reservations at 6pm at a beautiful table in the bar area first we had a terrible time trying to find a parking space we saw there was a wedding going on which is probably why we finally parked between 2 boat trailers because nothing was available. We were early so after speaking to the hostess we went to the deck bar for a cocktail we were seated for about 20 minutes before a server came over once he arrived everything went very well we were happy until we went down stairs to our table then everything changed. We sat at our table waited another 15 minutes for a different server who proceeded to take our drink order 2 of our party came right a 6 so they needed cocktails the bar was pretty backed up so we waited quite a while for drinks we gave her our dinner order with included apps and we waited and waited it was 7;45 and we still had not gotten anything food related served we were all pretty unhappy and one of our party said I'm done we are not waiting any longer so we called the hostess over and told her we did not want any food but we would pay for our drinks and we left she never said a word never apologized for the delay which was awful. I owned a restaurant for 40 years and I understand that sometimes you get caught with your pants down but this was beyond awful we all left angry and hungry. I don't know what happened but I got the feeling that a lot of the servers and kitchen staff are not experienced which I understand being a summer spot and I'm not sure if the venue for weddings has its own kitchen with its own cooks which would explain the food never coming out what a shame we were all so looking forward to eating there but once again being in the restaurant business Saturday nights are the worst I will take midweek dining always. read more

The spinach and feta app was great but they barely give you enough pita chips for 1/2 the dip. We asked for more and was told it would be more money..... and it came out 10 minutes later and the dip was cold. The chicken tender app was for a child. Tiny tiny pieces. The strawberry spinach salad .... Had strawberries with the stems on them. Chicken was dry. Swordfish was also just ok. The Caesar salad with shrimp was shrimp cocktail not grilled shrimp... The menu itself was limited and included several "parmesans". The "parms" served a large portion and were well prepared. We were guests at the Inn for a wedding; the stay required a two night minimum which was frustrating, but given the season we understood. Unfortunately we were given a disappointing room for a steep price. It came with a squeaky bed, no hangers for our clothes, and the world's smallest bathroom. Good thing I'd shaved my legs at home because there was no way it was happening in the shower stall. I think a couple improvements to the decor and furnishings would make this a more comfortable room: full length mirror, quiet bed, better chair, usb outlet near the bed... I know there's a certain charm that comes with staying in an inn but for the steep price it needs to be comfortable and have these simple amenities. Room aside, the property is lovely. The enormous deck was inviting and great for an early morning cup of coffee. The staff was incredibly kind and eager to please. The drinks were cheap and strong. And the view can't be beat. We had a great time at our friends' wedding, held in the barn on site, and found the food and drinks to be delicious. read more

Visiting family in the area, we came for dinner with a large group of 13. Very cozy and inviting atmosphere, bar area cozy. Very clean and inviting. We sat in a separate dining room because of our party size. It was a Friday evening and they had live music in the bar area, which I would like to say I enjoyed, but we were in a separate room. Server was friendly and attentive. There was not a lot of people in the restaurant so I would have to say the service was really really slow. We waited a really long time for appetizers and probably 45 minutes or more for entrees. Then 12 out of the 13 entrees came out but our host had to wait another 5 minutes or more for his salmon to come out. It was poorly timed, rude and uncomfortable to say the least because we all felt bad that he didn't have his plate while EVERYONE else did. So most of us waited while our food got cold waiting for his meal to come out. Very poor form in my opinion. My husband ordered his filet rare, it was well done. But he didn't complain because of how long it took for the food to come out. We had the short rib nachos and bbq chicken flatbread as appetizers, both were very mediocre at best. I had the chicken Marsala with ravioli (which to me was a weird combo to begin with), but I haven't had Marsala in eons so it sounded good. It soooo wasn't good at all. It was super sweet, and I can't figure out why because Marsala has no sugar in it, but this one was sweet and not great. Frozen pre-made ravioli, in a wannabe sweet Marsala sauce. The chicken paillard in the Marsala was actually perfectly made, but the ravioli was sub par and the super sweet Marsala was not good. Overall, service was friendly but slow, poorly timed and food quality was definitely lacking. Would I dine here again, probably not. Would I stop by for a drink, definitely. Might even try a stay at the INN next time I come to town, but would definitely plan on having dinner elsewhere. read more

Never received sauce for appetizers - had to request from owner sitting at bar. Didn't eat appetizers - got cold. Never got butter for rolls...had to request from a separate waitress. Two meals came out without sides...by the time we got to let them know, we had finished our meals. Entire staff seemed to be in training. Last meal arrived about 10 minutes after everyone else had theirs...it was a chicken sandwich with fries. No ketchup. Had to request from three different people before getting it from kitchen staff. Asked for Manager, she is entirely new to the position. She removed the appetizer from the bill...Have to say I will not be back. Food was okay. $48 for a filet that couldn't touch Ledgewater's. The food is very presentable but I think a bit more money and care needs to go towards the food, tried the brunch and wasn't good but I wrote it off as being a one time thing. I then went to a dinner with my husband and grandfather (which my grandfather thinks everything it edible) he said his bourbon salmon tasted like they squirted fake syrup on it and called it bourbon. The Newfound Lake Inn was given a new life. The owner spared no expense. It is truly a work of art with old school charm and elegance. We are in the downstairs bar. Very cosey with great views of the lake. The fish and chips I had was second to none. My wife had the salmon, cooked to perfection. The filet mignon was a delight, cooked to order. This is a truly wonderful Inn. We came up to snowboard with family at Ragged Mountain. The accommodations at the Inn were very nice. The Tavern is exceptional! The food and the atmosphere for dining were great. The food itself was excellent and well presented. Clearly evident was the effort to make the place comfortable. Despite some ongoing construction making further improvements, there was no interruption in services provided. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Great place for dinner or drinks on the roof top bar. Went to the Newfound Lake Inn for the 4th of July festivities. The kids had a great time on the bouncy house slide, face painting and making ballon animals. The adults enjoyed the artist doing caricatures, music, dancing and adult beverages. After we enjoyed the outdoor activities we spent some time in the restaurant and roof bar. The service was great, the food and beverage was great and we enjoy the view of the lake from the deck and roof top bar. I'm currently at the restaurant and had the worst service and salmon I've ever had. The salmon was so dry it was like tuna out of a can and I couldn't swallow it. The manager came up asked questions and didn't even comp the $32 salmon. Sadly won't come back here. Great spot. Not great food. read more

My family was staying at Newfound Lake Inn for 4 days. My wife was coming up on day 2 of the vacation and her car broke down. We had to have the car towed back to Manchester and we had to leave Newfound Inn because she had to go back to work, and we had NO CAR. I explained this to the owner Dwayne and asked for a refund on two days as this was an emergency. He refused and then hung up the phone on me even though I told him it was an emergency situation. Do not go to this place under any circumstances. Money is the only thing that matters to them even under an emergency situation. read more

I would love to give 5 stars except there were definitely things that could easily be improved. Window shades in the guest room and hotel staff training. The location was good, the bar and restaurant were both great, the staff were so attentive and the attention to detail was appreciated. We took advantage of the free kayaks and having the continental breakfast was so convenient. However, While our room was quaint and the updated bathroom was huge and bright, the cheap window shades allowed the outside security light to light up our room all night. It was like trying to sleep with the lights on. We didn't sleep for the two nights we stayed. Please invest in light blocking shades. The other reason I can't give 5 stars is that the staff were not well informed about the Inns amenities. Seemed like only the managers could answer questions and even then we got mixed responses. There needs to be better orientation or training; I understand there is high turnover but a good onboarding program is key. Other than those two issues it was a very nice place to stay. read more

Gorgeous setting with many beautiful improvements to the venue. The rooftop deck and the new, huge, gorgeous indoor bar are terrific. The grounds and the barn are beautiful! Fun that we could go there by boat. The service was friendly and attentive . However, the food is just OK. There isn't much on the menu that I can't make in my own kitchen with about 4 ingredients. It was done well, but I'd love to see more more "interesting" entrees on the menu, rather than just chicken parm, baked haddock, and maple salmon (examples, but you get the idea). The setting is what makes this place worth going; the food not so much. Also, there was a table tent with a QR code for drink specials, but we had to ASK for the wifi password and then still couldn't get service, and they didn't have the specials printed anywhere. read more

I and several friends stayed here recently for a wedding taking place nearby. The inn, and many of the rooms, and the porch on the second floor of the "cottage" have views of Newfound Lake (it's too bad they can't cut down some of the trees on the other side or the view would be spectacular). We did not dine here, so I can't report on the restaurant or tavern. We did have the continental breakfast in the tavern, which included hot beverages, homemade breads and muffins, pastries, hard-boiled eggs, confections, cereal, etc.. If you come here in the spring or summer, I hope you don't have allergies. This weekend the place was filled with fresh petunias. The view here in the fall must be fantastic. The inn retains charm, as do the bedrooms. But the phrase I use is "Lovely to look at, but don't scratch the surface too deep." My room had a very comfortable queen-sized bed, good temperature control, and a private bath. The rooms are very soundproof. However, 2 of the knobs on posts of the 4-post bed were not only loose, they could be lifted off. We had plenty of toiletries, but some of our friends in other rooms did not have them in their rooms upon check-in. We didn't receive any new ones on our second day there. They do advertise a jacuzzi and exercise room. The jacuzzi was empty and being worked on, as were the pieces of gym equipment. I don't know if those are considered seasonal items or not. I don't consider these things to be show-stoppers, but I think they did prevent me from appreciating the full potential of the inn. Wi-Fi is available but most convenient at the inn and spotty in the cottage area. We took advantage of the nice weather to do all our Wi-Fi'ing on the veranda. There is a "laid-back-ness" to this Inn. If that suits you, you will enjoy your stay here. read more

Mother's Day brunch... The new owners have done tremendous renovating of this classic New England Inn. The outside is beautiful with wonderful views of Newfound Lake directly across the road. We can't wait to have drinks and apps on the long long veranda Framing the Inn. The newly updated blue and white dining room, linen table cloths, napkins, and fresh tulips on all tables but ours made for gracious dining. We found brunch delicious. Breakfast items and lunch offerings for the most part fresh and flavorful. Dessert offerings could be more diverse (not everyone loves chocolate), but what we had was delicious. Buffet tips - 1. Dirty dishes should be removed as soon as the diners go to the buffet for their next servings so that they do not return to look at dirty dishes. Be sure to leave new silverware as well OR provide a small plate to leave silverware on. 2. Coffee should be served at the table by waiter. 3. Fresh flowers a nice touch BUT our table was the only one not decorated. Details. 4. LIght live music might be a nice touch for a Sunday Brunch. read more

We have been regulars here (weekly) this summer and the staff has been great. On the other hand, the steak that I rated so highly is now a one star. I've tried the same filet twice and both times the chef didn't come close to the original. Ordered the salmon special the other night and asked for it to be undercooked / rare. It was well done / dry and the rice pilaf had some cooked and uncooked rice. This chef has the potential to drive this restaurant to be the five star, go-to restaurant that everyone would want to be at. Hopefully, it happens Sooner vs later. read more

We booked our late September ceremony and reception at the Inn and it was picture-perfect as promised. The venue as a whole is beautiful. They take great care of the property and the charms of a lake-view inn and refinished and twinkle-light-covered barn. I couldn't have asked for anything better in our wedding photos or for our out-of-town guests to experience. I worked with Linda, the coordinator, who gives an excellent consultation and then once booked, guided us through the planning process of room set up, helpful vendor referrals, menu selection and our bar requests. I must say that we struggled with their "open bar" package [every beverage gets tallied]. However, they were able to get a few cases of a special beer, and during the reception as requested, we were able to discreetly address our approaching bar-budget limit so it worked out OK in the end. For the day-of, I was told it was unusual for the owner Larry, to be manning the show alone, but he did just fine corralling us through the evening and his staff was friendly and very attentive. I wish I caught her name, but I must call out a big thanks to the server who was able to help me fix my husband's boutonniere and for bringing us appetizers and drinks all the way across the property as we did the family photos during the cocktail hour. Now on to the food. We can say that the food was good (plated Havarti Chicken & Surf & Turf) but the pies are GREAT (we picked 6 varieties!)- and really special that they are baked on-site and with such care. I would have to recommend they get more practice/flexibility in displaying their infamous pie bar though. After trying the pies at our tasting, we opted out of doing a traditional wedding cake and instead, went to great lengths to configure a table of cake stands, candles, a custom wedding topper, etc to showcase a few during the reception. So we were disappointed that they made it out only for a moment but fortunately, our photographer was able to capture the display before they were whisked away to be sliced up and [albeit, beautifully] plated for dessert later. However, I can happily say that even months later, those pies are still talked about at family events. In addition to reviewing the wedding itself, we must also address our tasting experience. I'm unaware if this practice has changed since last Spring, but if not, please go without the expectation of sample-sized dishes for your small party to try or it being included in with the cost of booking the venue. Yes, you can *try everything from the wine to the desserts and they'll even make and bring out recommendations, but everything that gets served will be regular portions and regular ($$) menu prices. Where as we definitely were not, please be prepared when the check comes at the end of the evening. Pardon the lengthy review but overall, the Inn on Newfound Lake is a great place for an event and even if everything down to the ice bucket gets declared on the bill, Larry and Linda know what they're doing to continue being a sought-after venue and seem to genuinely want everyone to have a wonderful experience and come back again and again. Was disappointed to bring out of town guests here. Where did the white linen table cloths go? Granite table top and white plastic chairs just didn't cut it. The drinking glasses were placed lip side down on the table top. Germs. The waitress dropped off a plastic pitcher of water. Ok help ourselves. Not a problem but I'm the past it was an upscale dining experience and it's a nice touch when the server pours the water. Waitress brought out 2glasses of wine. Then waited for the third. the third. Couldn't find the sparkling water til later. I did enjoy my salmon dinner, although it was lukewarm. The stuffed haddock according to my guest was very bland. The two other guests said their meals were "just ok". Usually the food, service and ambiance make up for the view of the parking lot and trees, but not this time. We won't be returning anytime soon to dine on The Porch. Just disappointed that there isn't another upscale location to eat at besides Ledgewater. read more

We had reseravtions for 5 people tonight at 6:30. When we arrived we could see they were hosting a wedding outside on the lawn, but it looked like it was winding down. We were celebrating an important occasion. We were seated but then totally ignored. Waiters went back and forth to other diners on the porch, but not us. I finally went back to the hostess station and asked why no one had even taken our drink orders, it had been about 20 minutes. She said "we're very busy tonight." So I asked if we should leave. She said no and ducked into the kitchen area presumably to find a waiter. After 5 more minutes of no waiter, a water glass with a lipstick smear, and crumbs on the tablecloth from a previous diner. We made reservations for Mother's Day brunch and the soonest we were able to get in was for 1:15 seating. With calling the Wednesday before we were lucky. We were overwhelmingly surprised at how wonderful everything was! We were pleasantly welcomed when we came in we were seated at great spot viewing the lake. All the food offered for brunch was exceptional with so much to choose from to eat! Our waiter Charlie was very accommodating and bought me a little box to take a few desserts home with me since I couldn't eat another morsel at the table. I highly recommend the brunch.
