The office staff prominently make it very hard to understand instructions and expect you to know everything the first time you're directed to do something. Another thing is that teachers need to stop letting other students pass inappropriate jokes or offensive speech just because it entertains them. Also, experiences with the counselors would feel different than you'd typically imagine it, regarding the way they perceive your problem or feelings. Not sure on how the counselors helped other students but it probably varies, I did not receive any help at all myself. Lastly, this is difficult to improve, but the lunch line situation is always horrible, no matter what they integrate. Hearing things you don't want to hear is still verbal harassment if it makes you uncomfortable. Minor roughhousing is pretty odd but people would do it in private. Next year is my final year here and I'd hope for it to be more pleasant than the last two. I'm sure there's many other issues but I don't have any coming to mind at the moment. It feels empty in the morning and quite pathetic on special event days.

By how she looked at us, I see that we were being judged. A couple weeks goes by and our child is telling us that some of the staffs were talking to her as if she wasn't a human being. She'll come home, tell us about how they would say things that made me uncomfortable. Example: her presence was irritating them. I went up to the school one morning and told all the staffs and including the assistant principal that they better stop talking crazy to my child. Cause at home my children are disciplined. (Yes they get yelled at or talked to for their actions). There's so many times I've had to go up to the school to put these staffs in check. Wrong mama. My child doesn't like confrontations. If she feels like she's being disrespected, she's gonna let me know. There's a female (P.E) staff there that tried to twist my daughter's word when we had set a meeting up. I wanted to know what happened. There was an incident that took place with another student. This staff was a "mediator". As we were in the room, I let my daughter speak, the lady staff tried to interrupt my daughter. I told her to let my child speak. I didn't like the fact that she tried to justify what she told me and then tell my daughter different. What I won't allow is for an adult to interrupt my child when she is advocating for herself while l'm in her presence. There are a few staff that I've grown to like. If I had the chance to pull my child out and do homeschool, I would. We send our children to school to these staff(s) to teach and watch over them. Not for them to treat our children like sh!t. I don't have a problem going up to the school and give them my 2 cents. They need to work better on their attitudes... cause it stinks like sewage water.

From the very first day, the teachers and staff have created a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate and balances academics with plenty of play-based learning, which has helped our child grow both socially and intellectually. I feel that my child (6th grade) is getting really good education at almost half of the tuition that some other private schools charge. And the tuition ($1450) covers staying there all day long, i.e. till 5:30pm. Some other private schools charge more but are open till 3:00 only. I personally think it's quite affordable especially considering the fact that even in public schools I was paying around $600 for after school day care and then to supplement the public school education, I was sending my kid to Kumon, another $300. But the quality of education here is so much better than Kumon, the kids are learning things above their normal grade level. All the teachers are really caring and hard-working. The English teacher Ms Sandya works tirelessly and creates custom lessons based on children's level and is really prepping them for future SATs/college essays, etc. The school also has no screen policy except for the computer class which has really been a blessing as doing that is bringing back children's focus in today's screen slaver world. The class sizes are really small right now (less than 5 kids in most classes) but even then my child is really happy going there. So overall we are very satisfied and love the new school.

Lack of due diligence, compliance, follow through and attention to details is evident. Fundamental ethics are lacking, which fosters a lack of public trust. Workers employed by a public school district should not lie and perpetuate hostility through stubbornness and deceptive practices. Lack of accountability and high operating costs, including excessive effort dedicated to cursory tasks should be examined. Policies and procedures should be straightforward and provided in a timely manner. School districts should set a community gold standard in service and excellence. In the event of a lack of governance of such a district, state and/or federal oversight should be compulsory and not elective. From an employment perspective, it appears that jobs for this school district offer very nice pay structure and comprehensive benefits packages, with a lot of latitude for all types of job performance. I believe it must be very difficult to be disciplined or even removed from this type of a job, so for any staff member there are numerous perks to attaching yourself to a job at this District. Since these jobs are public-facing ones, the district, at an organizational level, should have some care for its public image, even if the individual employees are more focused on how the job benefits their own personal needs.

"Fremont Christian was a good school" is what I thought at the beginning of going to this school. I…read moream a former Fremont Christian student who went there from 4th to junior year. As the years progressed and I came to find out it isn't as good as I thought it was. Elementary school was okay because there wasn't an old lady bossing all the kids around blowing her whistle. There is an old lady who goes around handing out detentions left and right for the most unreasonable reasons. Another thing was, one of the kids was on her phone after school texting her parents and then that lady came up to her and gave her a detention. This same lady also dress codes people on the slightest things. The rest of my class and I agree that she only dress codes girls. She sees that part of someone's shoulder is being shows and runs over to them and dress codes them. Does she not know that that is the style now and not everyone dresses like a nun? You also can't wear shorts that aren't 3 inches above the knee. This is the stupidest dress code ever. For the good reasons, they're some amazing teachers. My kid really enjoyed math and said she learned a lot. He also said that he really enjoyed English in his 6th grade hyear because of the teacher. We later found out a few years ago they fired that same teacher. This school would improve a lot if they just got that old lady with white hair out of the school. Out of the things I heard and saw, she does nothing but yell at kids and complain that there is too much trash on the floor. Fire her and you will have less people leave and more people come.

Everyday it felt like I was drowning. Looking back, that period of my life was when I first started developing severe anxiety and depression. I was naturally a shy kid but the environment at the school made things significantly worse. I experienced ongoing bullying throughout my time there...not only from classmates but also from teachers and even the school principal (Tricia Meyer) It created an atmosphere where I constantly felt unsafe, unsupported, and isolated. The only reason I remained at the school for so long was because my parents were hesitant to transfer me. By the time they fully understood how serious the situation was, I only had two years left of high school, so I stayed until graduation. Even now, I could write pages about the experiences and the people who contributed to the bullying I endured during those years. From an academic and developmental standpoint, I also do not feel the school prepared me well for life after graduation. When I entered college, I realized how unprepared I was socially and academically compared to peers from other schools. The environment at FCS felt extremely conservative and insulated, almost like living in a bubble. It wasn't until I graduated and left that environment that I felt like I could finally start living my life and growing as a person. One additional observation: the business manager who responds to reviews on Yelp, was actually a student in my class. Given the culture and bullying that existed during our time at the school, it feels somewhat hypocritical to see someone from that same environment representing the school without acknowledging the issues that many of us experienced. Everyone's experience will be different, but based on my time there, I personally would not recommend this school.
