He worked around, over, under, and next to 33 years of accumulated crap, family kibitzers, a lazy, fat-bottomed, plastic eating cat (the size of a small dog!), dust, and a myriad of other surprises, inside and out. NY Sash did an amazing job on the new windows and door. They look absolutely beautiful and when I saw the negative reviews on Yelp I was surprised but then I see they are mostly from 2-3 years ago when companies went out of business and we had an usual 2 year shutdown that greatly impacted manufacturing. I don't think it's fair to judge them during that time. I don't remember the woman's name but she followed up, and made sure everything was up to par and would send someone out of it wasn't. Rachel says the company that makes the windows Thermal Industries , they sold me went out of business therefore my lifetime warranty is null and void . NY Sash high pressure salesman sold me new windows for my whole house . Telling me I could call 25 years from now and they would fix my screens let alone my windows . Well more then a few have failed with the argon gas leaking out between the frames and the ensuing mist between the glass . Also had a lock clasp break off another window and my crank out windows over the sink must be pushed shut from the outside , on a ladder, to close and latch them . The brass screws fell out of the hardware and plastic dry rotted and disintegrated . Hardly a lifetime warranty . If NY Sash were a great company they would make it right . Instead I get Rachel telling me they are legally not obliged to honor the warranty . Well I'm not legally obliged to give you a glowing review . Maybe your company could forego the free giveaways and marketing gimmicks at SU games and instead focus more on the customers . . I want to support a family owned business , but I feel like my lifetime warranty wasn't supported . So buyer beware . This company will dodge their responsibility if they are legally allowed to . We needed a new tub, surround, and a window. New York Sash was the logical choice, and they were perfect! Sean and his co-worker were prompt, polite, explained things, and worked fast and efficiently. We had ordered in late summer, but we understood materials would take time. They called to come December 21 and I was worried about getting it done Christmas week, but it took two days as promised and we were very pleased. The window in the surround is a dream! Called for an estimate for window replacements, due to the rude salesman on the way to our house arriving late I canceled. They insist that both owners of the house are available for a 90 minute sales pitch. I don't have time for that and I'm very capable of ordering windows for my house - do not need my husbands permission. Rude, Rude, Rude is all I can say. I thought the whole experience was great. We chose the mid-range windows for our family room as the older ones were way too drafty in the winter. The new ones are perfect. Keep out the cold and they installed them in a matter of hours. My wife said the crew were very courteous and polite. I will use them again when we upgrade the ones in our bedroom. read more

If spending 50k on windows replacements is your thing! 25 windows, $50k is what I was quoted. $2000 a window? Seriously. Brand x did whole job for $18500 ( name brand replacement window). Lots of competition out there. Pushy, overbearing persuasive salesperson, who kept on asking me for the assessment on my house and how spending money on new windows in Utica, I would see the return. Also many annoying phone calls from the receptionists after I said no. Very new to the area, had just purchased the home. read more

I was very disappointed in the way they handled my project. They said they were gonna order all new materials, and would take 6 weeks. I had the pieces of the sofatt, they said they wanted new. Day of insulation, he asked to get the the cellar, they used all my old sofatt that was dirty from being in the snow and blown in insulation on it . I had no problems with the installers, I had a problem that they took off $90 off the bill. Meanwhile they should of cleaned them before installing, and adjusted the bill with my materials, and not the price of new. So be aware, my house looks terrible, since my back of my house is too high for me to clean. read more

Lisa LaManque Vennette 13 hrs · My NY SASH windows: Over $9,000 later, I now realize that my kitchen window is unlike the rest of my windows. I have to lift them out to clean them. So, after getting directions, over the phone, from Rachel I try this. Well, I got them out after nearly breaking my back because they are heavy. I can't get one back in so I call back as I want someone to assist me in getting the window back in. I didn't think this was an issue after paying the money I did. My mom spoke with Rachel explaining that we are not window installers. lol. Rachel said, and I quote, "I can do it". So my mother says, and I quote "You are more than welcome to come over and do so". Mind you, the rest of the windows fold down and are easy to clean. Why this one is different, I don't know. Rachel says this is the one I ordered. I don't think so. I would not have ordered a window that was hard to care for for that price! I recall them sending in all the wrong windows and having to return them and get the correct ones before installation. I think they messed up. Rather, I know they did. I need a big bow window put in at some point and guess who will not be getting the job! read more

I have spoken a few times with Jen and also requested to speak with their owner(who has not returned my telephone calls) I spoke with Jen 4-5 weeks ago and I have not heard from since that time. ALL of my windows that they installed are cloudy and the glass is horrible!!! Therefore I would think twice about having NY Sash install windows!! Anyone that does not believe what I am stating is free to examine my windows before you purchase windows. We had our bathroom redone in August, tub to shower conversion, new floor, vanity, lights, toilet, fan, and had some tricky plumbing work that had to be done. Harry and Sean did a fabulous job.
