I'm sure if you're into costumes, you know that the wigs those Halloween stores sell are crap. For an extra $10 than I would have spend on horrible ones, I got the two perfect wigs I was looking for at Starship Earth! I got to try them on--AND get opinions from the shop owner and staff. I've worn the wigs for my costume and in real life already. Lastly, how did I NOT notice they were a Mehron shop?! For those of you new to cosplay, theater and makeup, Mehron is THE ISH. All the serious haunted houses in NE Ohio get their Mehron makeup from Starship. And they order in bulk so the price is so right it almost feels wrong. And this makeup isn't just for costumes. These are highly pigmented, great quality products that are great for regular makeup, as well. On more thing--the owner and staff were so, so nice when I stopped in and thanked me for being kind to them. I've read some reviews on here of the shop owner not being friendly. This has never been the case any time I've visited Starship. The owner has always been nice and patient with my while I make my purchase decisions. All I've ever done is smile at her and act like a polite, friendly adult. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I've worked in retail--just BE NICE.

The woman on the phone told me she had never heard of face paint and didn't know what that was (in a very annoyed, sarcastic tone). I paused, not understanding if she was genuinely saying she didn't know what face paint was or being a smart-ass... so I asked what she meant. She had never heard of face paint? She again responded in a snarky manner, saying, "Well, that's what YOU guys like to call it, but it's makeup... blah blah blah," and went on a rant about how whatever she carries is different from the simple term "face paint." I told her that her customer service was lacking, and she claimed she has a great reputation. I mentioned her sub-4-star rating on Yelp and pointed out that her attitude and lack of customer service were proving why--and she hung up on me. I am new to the area and new to buying my own supplies (I worked for Circus Circus, where supplies were provided for me). It was a simple question that didn't warrant such a rude, "high and mighty" response. Get off whatever high horse you're sitting on, ma'am. I reached out with a standard inquiry, not to be a punching bag for your bad mood or your grievances against "you people" (whoever "they" may be). Complete shock in your attitude.

Their inventory is large. When I visited in August 2024, I purchased an Anti-Itch hair oil plus a short wig that I only ended up wearing once. I had sort of a hair emergency (LOL) and I needed a quick style so that is why I bought the wig. I never wear wigs. The wig was cheap and I only wore it once to attend a function. My first instinct was to go to the hardware store, but I quickly located both of these at this location. Inventory: The store is well organized and stocked. It not only has personal care and grocery store items, but also plenty for hardware, gardening, and car merchandise. Deals: This store location has a lot of deals. They are clearly marked! For instance, clothing closeouts for $2.98! Fantastic deal! Seasonal Merch: This store is ready for fall and Halloween. You'll find an aisle with costumes and masks. Boxes with pumpkins are also available in the store. Service: Service is very friendly and prompt. Parking: Parking lot is spacious. Parking lot lighting is a bit dim at this location in the evening.
