I came here for the tribute concert to Gordon Goodwin this weekend. I'd actually never heard of…read morethis theater before that so I was excited to discover a fantastic new venue! We were originally seated in the balcony but got upgraded to the founders circle -- we were in the third row of the section, just off center. The seats were perfect, even for my family who are all around 5 feet tall -- we could see perfectly since the seats are angled. I also liked that there was a lot of room in between the rows so we weren't cramped. The man next to me was over 6 feet tall and his legs were nowhere close to the row in front of us, so that's not just a short person observation! If you're sensitive to noise, I would recommend bringing earplugs, because the sound in there is LOUD. You definitely won't have a problem hearing. I also read some reviews that said parking was difficult. Well, take it from this parking-challenged person -- it could not have been easier! Huge garage with equally huge parking spots. Yes, it could take a bit to get out since it's single file, but a car let me in very easily, and I literally got out of the venue in 5 minutes. I can't wait to experience more shows here!

Saw Kathleen Madigan here last night. It's pretty, clean and well organized. I thought the seats…read morewere not super comfortable and definitely they pack you in pretty tightly. There was enough leg room but if you're very tall, get an aisle seat! Don't waste money on the Founders Lounge upgrade. It's a smallish room with not that much seating and a cash bar. I'm still unclear what we paid for.

I must say, the theatre we were in to see the show was veryyyyy comfortable. The seats are spacious and soft and comfy to sit in. The theatre was smaller than I expected, but still fit so many people. Lighting and sound are great. Bar service is easy too, there were 3 different bars to choose from so we were able to head to the ones with the shortest lines. Drinks are a bit pricey though. Wonderful show, so much fun!!!! For Nurse John No photography until the end of the show when they announce that you can take a few pics.

There's no free street parking nearby, so you'll most likely have to pay $16 to park in the lot there. You're not allowed to bring in food or drinks because they sell those items inside, and they also probably don't want you bringing in anything that isn't permitted. They had plenty of staff working the event, from security guards to ushers, helping people find their seats. As for the ambience, the place was well-decorated throughout the inside it was actually really nice. I would definitely recommend it if there's a show you want to see and it's being held at the Civic Arts Plaza. Don't hesitate to buy those tickets just be aware that you'll probably have to pay for parking.

Loved the production, very professional, and am sure whatever other events are happening will be very professional as well. The Hillcrest Center is part of the Park Districts facility, tucked up on the hill. I had never been there before, and there is construction, and other challenges to getting to the facility, such as the entrance is on a side street, not on Hillcrest itself. But you will be glad you make the trip. Classes there are put on by the Conejo Recreation and Park District, and include classes for young musicians, and the opportunity to also review an art exhibit on premises. Check out http:://www.hillcrestarts.com to see the schedule.

Sam Herbert as Evan, Carly Shukiar as Patrice and Antonia Vivino as Lucy had exceptional voices and terrific stage presence. Yet, along with these key roles, every single cast member could sing, dance, emote, act, and wow the audience with their talent. What my boyfriend and I continue to say to one another is, "Wow,,, the!se are only kids,,,, young people,,,what will they be like as adults? They can't get much better than this?" If you want an evening of high energy, talent, joy, tears and top-notch entertainment, THIS IS THE SHOW TO GO TO! We went on opening night and loved it so much that we plan on going to see "13" again on closing night! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOW TO ALL!!!

We recently treated our six year old granddaughter to her first live theater experience here for…read morethe performance of "Annie". We hoped that she would enjoy it, and indeed she did. It was so sweet to have her alternate at times from laying her head on Dear Hubby's shoulder and then mine. Sometimes she would sit up tall and lean forward at certain times in the show. After, she said, "I want to stay until the next one", thinking that the cast would be doing a second show right away the same day. She doesn't yet realize how much energy and effort goes into a performance like this, but I loved the positive reaction. The theater, while small scale and local, nonetheless does a great job of putting on entertainment which captivates their audiences. It's a blessing to have this venue close to home, away from the hassles and expense of going into L.A. Ticket prices are reasonable, parking is free, and the staff is friendly. The large cast managed to sing, dance, and act their way through a beloved classic musical on a smallish stage and made it work. Kudos to the visual technology that makes set decoration a new type of visual art. We're looking forward to seeing "Footloose" at the Arts Center soon.

Will definitely keep my eye out for their revival stage performances for next season.

The food (we each ordered a steak) was good but a little pricey and just needed salt, the staff was helpful and friendly, and contrary to previous reviews, the ladies room was well-supplied and clean. The one negative is the table seating. It's too crowded. It is very difficult to get out of your seat - it's a struggle to pass through your row. The music before the shows and afterwards is too loud and make it difficult to have conversations. We would go back to The Canyon - but this time we would sit in the General Admissions seating.

Waiting 1 1/2 hours for food to be delivered to the table was terrible. Perhaps Canyon should do pre-order meals in the future for better service. I know we don't come here for the food or the service. But we are made to purchase a meal, so it should at least arrive at the tables in less than an hour. We arrived 2 hours before the show and ate during the opening band. But let's face it Canyon Club gets amazing band and has incredible sound. We'll always be back for more. There's just room for improvement with the meal service. I saw quite a few people get up to complain food delivery was too long. Some were eating at 10pm. The band started at 8.

Some people park the car at the Clam Jumper plaza (FREE) and walk up to the theater. The building is well maintained & very clean. Next month, they are doing renovation in the lobby, it is going to look even better when it is completed. 3 windows at the Box Office. It takes me about 10 minutes to get my tickets from the Will Call windows. The theater is not too small. Sound system is excellent! The ushers are super friendly. The Legally Blonde musical is phenomenal~ All the performers are very talented with great voice. The music is very cheerful. The story is very funny. What a great show~ The story is very inspiring for the children!! It is a perfect show for the family.

A pleasant surprise was the complimentary tickets... LOVE being on the yelp Elite squad! Just for clarification, the Cabrillo Music Theatre is the musical production company that performs at the Fred Kavli Theatre of Performing Arts, at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Easy parking access. We arrived at 7:40pm with a daunting line at the will call/ ticket booth, but the line moved quickly and we were still able to hit the restrooms before settling down in our seats to enjoy the show. The Kavli Theatre is a modern structure that is even more beautiful @ night. Staff is friendly and VERY helpful. Auditorium is a good size, seating about 1800 people. Well spaced, as it wasn't difficult to pass through the rows. I didn't kick or knock knees with anyone to get to our seats. We sat in the orchestra section, Row P, and could easily see all the facial expressions of the performers. Not stuffy at all in the large hall during the performance and never heard a glitch in the sound system. Most men were casually dressed, as it was rare to see a suit & tie (I was out of place sportin' the bow tie), but lots of ladies looking elegant in their dresses and heels. As far as the show, Legally Blonde, the Musical, was SO ENTERTAINING! This movie adaptation was FUNNY, with captivating voices & performances, and the music was engaging. I enjoyed the movie, and this musical production stayed true to the film, yet, enhanced the story of Elle Woods... brought it to another level! OH MY GOSH! Bravo Cabrillo Music Theatre... BRAVO! We had a GREAT time and look forward to more!
