Ken at New Wave Resumes made my dreaded resume update an enjoyable and rewarding experience. I just relocated to Austin and needed a new polished resume to get started here. I contacted four other Resume Services before I found Ken, when we spoke on the phone he shared with me his background and invaluable experience as a recruiter, as well as his vision on what hiring coordinators are looking for in a resume these days. He said his work wasn't the old "Cookie Cutter" resume format but that he would create more of a "Stand Out" document that would capture attention right away - and he hit a homerun with mine! I am so pleased with what he has done that I am now entering into my job search with much more confidence than I had a couple weeks ago. Ken has made me look extremely professional and uniquely experienced as well as a very well-rounded individual. He made me look good! Goal achieved. While I still haven't heard back from two of the other resume services, the one person I did get in touch with was somewhat cold and detached and didn't ease any of the dread I had been feeling about completing this task. Ken took it and ran with it, his first draft was near perfection and after a couple small tweaks it was done. I experienced a huge sense of relief and really felt like he had my back on this one. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who is looking for a fresh and professional way to present yourself out there. His resume writing is worth every penny and he has said he will help me tweak it anytime at no charge, it's all apart of the great service you too will receive. read more

Ken prepared a brilliant resume for me after I submitted my current resume to him along with completing a brief personality profile. He worked hard to prepare it for me even ahead of his original projection. With his background of 15 years of experience as a recruiter , as an academician (a university professor in marketing), and as the author of "Your Complete Guide to Job Search and Career Change", I characterize Ken as a true expert in his understanding of the job market whose self-determined purpose is to truly help those individuals seeking his services. I found his interview coaching session to be very helpful in preparing me for a job interview. Ken shared with me powerful ideas and perspectives as well as giving me important feedback. Ken brought along a list of savvy, intelligent questions for me to ask during an interview. These will be of immense benefit to me. Ken also brought along (as well as emailed to me) an excellent cover letter he customized for the next job that I'll be applying for and which I can easily adapt to subsequent job applications. I highly recommend Ken with New Wave Resumes. read more

If you're a parent of a recent college graduate that's entering the job market, Ken Murdock at New Wave Resume Service is where you need to direct your son or daughter to get their resume professionally prepared. My son just graduated with a PhD and as he was preparing to look for a job he asked me to review his resume and give him some feedback. I took one look at his resume and immediately sent him to Ken. Ken knows what hiring managers are looking for and makes sure the resume is structured to grab their attention. Within just a few days of my son and Ken working together my son had a professionally prepared resume that helped him land a senior technical position at Dell. Also, all the work was done without my son and Ken ever having to meet face-to-face since they were in separate cites. So don't let distance be an excuse for not contacting Ken. If you want your son or daughter's resume to stand out from the stack of resumes on the hiring managers desk have them contact New Wave Resume Service. I highly recommend Ken Murdock. read more

As I finished up graduate school in Spring 2015, I faced a new challenge in securing the right job to apply the skills and knowledge I worked so hard to build. Ken started by helping me establish an appropriate mindset to approach the job market and my individual search. He had me take an in-depth personality assessment to identify my strengths and unique traits that make me competitive in the job market. When we put together a resume I was a bit apprehensive because it looked very different from the template resume I was use to using. In the end, I think this helped me stand out by highlighting my intangible skills that hiring managers are looking for. Now, I'm about to start a fantastic job, in the field I want, doing work I enjoy. I recommend New Wave Resume for anyone lost or struggling to get their job search on the right track. read more

Update! I met with Ken several times in May of this year and he helped me immensely in preparing to switch careers. (See my original review for full story). On August 1 I successfully switched from a career in Human Resources to a career in Marketing, which was my goal when I began working with Ken. My husband Mike needed a resume and we decided to go with Ken after reading all the reviews posted for Ken's services on New Wave Resumes. Having been with the same company & profession for the lat 25 years, Ken had little to work with as far as work history. But Ken whipped up a fabulous resume and an equally awesome cover letter for the first application Mike submitted. I would recommend Ken to everyone needing a resume. read more
