Dr. Karmali is the best doctor I've ever had, and I've had great doctors in the past. I visited her…read moretowards the end of last year as a new patient and she spent about 30 minutes getting to know me before checking everything that I asked her to. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed every step of the way, talking me through everything. Dr. Karmali is extremely kind, attentive, gentle, humble, and calming. She went to UW Med School, so extra points for that! Another cool thing is that Swedish uses MyChart, an online personal health record system where you can see your medical history, appointments, messages from your doctor, etc. Strangely, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that Dr. Karmali did not have any openings until January 2015. However, when I went online to MyChart, I saw multiple openings between now and the end of the year. I ended up making an online appointment with Dr. Karmali for early December and cancelling my phone-made appointment with another doctor at Swedish. I am so excited to go see Dr. Karmali again soon!

After my motorcycle accident in 2009 Dr. Karmali checked up on me and worked with my medical records from Harborview to continue with my pain management care. To this day she still works closely with me on this care and has been very good at keeping an eye out for my health and well being and continues to work with my pain management doctor at Harborview. Dr. Karmali set me up with MyChart (available to all Swedish patients) when I moved back to WA and through that I am able to discuss issues with her without having to make an appointment to go into the clinic (I'm already there enough as it is!) and she is quick to get back to me usually same day but definitely within 24 hours. She even responds on her days off and to me, that is complete dedication and proves just how much she cares about her patients. I have recommended her to a couple of friends and they love her as well. Dr. Karmali is very knowledgeable and caring. If she is unsure of something she will investigate the issue to ensure that you get the best possible care. She is just an amazing doctor and an even more amazing person.

They use my chart and everything is communicated quickly and effectively. If I need to refill a prescription or change an appointment I can go online and do it quickly. For in person appointments, there is adequate parking at the location. Very close to IKEA in Renton. The MA staff is very friendly and quick to get everything charted. I have not had to wait more than five minutes to see my provider when I come for appointments. I have been to their lab a couple of times for blood draws and the process is very quick and efficient. Overall great experience

They want you to book another appointment for each issue. Then on top of that, it takes months to get an appointment. Today I had an appointment for a hepatitis vaccination. I'm told to come in 15 minutes prior to my appointment to check in. I show up 20 minutes prior. As I'm waiting in the parking lot I get a call from PacMed saying that unfortunately they ran out of the vaccine. I'm like WTF?! Who is in charge of verifying that this place has all their vaccines, meds and supplies to treat their patients that have scheduled appointments?! Someone is definitely not doing their job. So, now that I wasted my gas, and my time coming to my scheduled appointment, she ask if I would like to schedule another appointment for next week. I'm like WHY? You folks can't even guarantee that I'm going to have the vaccine for my scheduled appointment, why am I going to waste my time again.

I have been Dr. Eaman's patient since January 2019 and the experience has been wonderful. As a…read moreTrans Woman I can definitely state that Dr. Eaman is not only a Trans Ally but a Trans Friend. I went to her initially with the intention of only having a consult about Trans Health as I wanted to medically start my transition but was unsure how. I was very awkward and shy as she was only the 2nd person at that time I had come out to. Dr. Eaman was very empathetic and answered my questions and listened to my concerns. At the end of the consult I not only felt more validated in my Gender Identity I resolved to become one of her patients. By August of 2019 I started hormone replacement therapy with her supervision and since then the butterfly has started coming out of her cocoon. I have insurance through my job but I choose to pay $75.00/month to have a doctor who is not only knowledgeable about Trans Health but also sincerely cares about their patients. Instead of having a doctor who rushes in to see you for a few minutes and then rushes back out again you can schedule an appointment for up to an hour and literally spend the entire hour with her without feeling that she is trying to push you out the door to see her next patient. Visiting with her is like paying a visit to a hip friend instead of a daunting experience to the doctor's office. Also, since she cuts out the insurance middleman she has very affordable prices for lab work. You will be pleasantly shocked at how affordable health care can be when you cut greed and bureaucracy out of the equation. Much luv to Dr. Eaman!

I don't take healthcare lightly and once left the following 5-star review on the Polyclinic:…read more"The Polyclinic as an organization that has provided me with the best health care I've ever received in my entire life. The doctors are very thorough, responsive over the online tool called MyChart, and I've never once thought that I knew more than they. I am actually quite wary of doctors (they're just people, too... but they're all we've got), pharma (maybe I should call it Big Pharma with a capital P), and the disjointed, often imprecise, and misguidedly overprescriptive state of healthcare today (medications just lead to more side effects and more medications... that statement is true). Penicillin was really only discovered less than 100 years ago, btw! 100 years! By accident! And I'm supposed to trust in science when half the side effects on prescriptions are WORSE than a disease!? Where are all the breakthroughs promised by the Human Genome Project?! Why isn't gut research mainstream?! That being said, the Polyclinic is choc full of caring, experienced, humble, and dare I say, wise, doctors. The doctors are the single most valuable resource when it comes to any healthcare org. Without them, I wouldn't even give Polyclinic a second thought. I've seen several doctors at Polyclinic for many years, and they are all mentally present, recognizing of nuances, and intelligent in an experience-based, thoughtful sense -- not just a textbook sense. Gone are the days of "egotistical doctors as authority figures"; This new model of health recognizes the flaws of modern medicine and compensates for them with collaborative, targeted and insightful care... not saying the doctors aren't authoritative pinnacles of knowledge, though." The above review was left in part due to the care I received while under Dr. Klokeid. I was recently told she no longer works at the Polyclinic, but wherever she goes, I would love to follow. Dr. Klokeid is an observant and proactive physician who has excellent and personalized bedside manner... and a well-rounded and practical, no-nonsense approach to medicine. I found her to be confident, transparent, and thorough when coaching me through a lot of stressful medical situations. In these uncertain medical times, it's as important that a doctor be able to articulate options clearly as their ability to textbook-know what the options actually are... And on top of all the aforementioned traits, also makes accurate diagnoses (which Dr. Klokeid does and has done). Overall, I would recommend Dr. Klokeid, as well as 1 or 2 other doctors from the Polyclinic, to the public. She actually takes the time to know you as a person and, whether it's through note-taking or her memory, know your quirks. 5 stars and I wish her luck wherever she goes :)

This is for Dr Klokeid's position at Downtown Policlinic in Seattle…read more While pleasant, I found the overall professionalism of Dr Klokeid to be lacking. I felt she was disingenuous about her ability to work with us. The office itself does not match what I would expect of for a practice offering family care - don't even get me started about nurse incompetence. I would not recommend this doctor nor practice to Central Seattle families.
