A perfect day on the sea.
    Katrina T.

I can't even begin to describe the incredible experience we had with New Wave and Captain Jenni. It was the most perfect day we have ever had from start to to end. It bordered on magical as if nature and the sea conspired to put on a show for us. From the dolphins froclicking less than a foot away from our boat to the treasure trove of sand dollars and seashells you could not have planned it any better. My 8 year old daughter said "Mommy you have no idea how happy I am right now." We could not have had a more knowledgeable and friendly captain than Captain Jenni. I would venture to call her a kindred spirit who instantly bonded with our daughter and made her (and all of us) feel like anything was possible. It wasn't just a day on the sea. It was a memory our little family will cherish for life. Worth every cent and beyond. Just. Do. It.

What an amazing day we had with Captain Steve. Each trip is tailored to what the customer wants to see. It was an amazing day! We saw dolphins, manatees, and so much more. If you take a charter, you will not be disappointed

    Shelling loot

Awesome crew and great little boat trip. Highly recommend! We had the biologist scientist added to our charter and it was so worth it - tons of great facts about the ecosystems & wild life. So good, my children wanted to go back the day after!

Another exciting part of shallow water stop

Captain Jenni exceeded our expectations. She was very knowledgeable and asked us what we wanted to see. We saw manatees and dolphins, found incredible shells, explored the shallow waters, and walked along the beautiful, secluded beach of North Captiva. Jenni told us so many interesting things about the nature and history of the area. Even our 8 year old was enthralled. It was a vacation favorite and will be a must any time we visit Sanibel or Captiva!

    Beautiful scenery on our trip.

We checked in at the Ding Darling visitor center. The friendly attendant at the counter informed us the guide/driver is ready for us and to meet her at the tram. We were also given binoculars that were free to borrow with a credit card on hold (we would get charged if we lose them). We boarded the tram about 15 minutes before the tour. The whole tram was full, and every seat was taken, including the front seat in the truck pulling the tram. Kathy, our guide/driver introduced us to the tour and informed potential animals we would see. We were all informed to let her know if we see any potential animals so she can slow down the tram when needed. When we went to the park, we saw various animals including many types of birds, fishes, manatees, and even iguanas. The whole tour lasted about 90 minutes, with a small 10 break to walk and view the observation tower. Kathy did an excellent job explaining about the park, the types of plants and animals, and how the park was affected by the hurricane and other things. She also answered any questions that the guests had. She drove very safely, being cautious of the other vehicles and pedestrians at the park. We were also informed that we could walk around the park after the tour. However, we decided it was too hot to walk a couple miles and left after the tour. The visitor center looked to be undergoing renovations, but the gift shop was open. We bought a shirt that was on sale. The bathrooms were clean and even had information about the various animals we could see. We were also given a brochure as well before the tour. For the price paid, this was a great value. We did get to see various types of animals, plants, and birds. Our guide/driver was friendly, informative, and cautious. Even though the hurricane did some damage to the park, the repairs looked nice and great to see the various wildlife coming back to the park. This was a wonderful tour and a must do when visiting Sanibel Island.

It has a single bedroom with a queen bed, a living area, kitchen, and bathroom. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment so we were able to eat in and save a lot of money on our trip. The decor is beachy and welcoming. Mark paints and did a lot of the artwork in the cottage. I can still remember the koi picture in the bedroom. Very nice touch! There is a private gazebo out back that overlooks the pond. There were many birds, turtles, and a small alligator in the pond, though the alligator left after a couple of days. There was a cardinal bird that came to the sliding glass door every morning and would tap on it with his beak. There is a grill out back by the gazebo, laundry on-site, books that they have available to borrow, and a shell washing station. There are also bikes that are available to borrow so you can bike around the island. There is private beach access at the end of the block. Sanibel is famous for its shelling and the beach at the end of the street by far had the best shells we found on the island. You get a card so you can park your car at the end, but it's so close you can just walk down there. It's quiet, clean, and was the perfect place for us to stay. Thank you, Mark and Kathy! Next time we come to Sanibel we will be staying again!
