I've been coming for a decade. I realize the sulfur smell has disappeared over the past few years…read more This sulfur was one of the most healing substances one can bathe in. I talked to several people, who also noticed the sulfur smell gone - and we are wondering if someone has tampered with this? Sad.

The environment was extremely strict to the point where you feel like you can't do anything without getting in trouble. People (including staff and other visitors) were rude and unwelcoming, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. One of the biggest issues was how we were treated compared to others. My group is Hispanic and has darker skin, and when we held onto the rope, a lifeguard immediately said something to us. Then another random person came over and started complaining about us. But when a white male did the exact same thing, nothing was said. When we pointed out the difference in treatment, they just walked away. That felt unfair and honestly discriminatory. Another major problem is that many of the rules they enforce aren't even posted online. Nothing is updated, so you go in expecting one thing and then get in trouble for rules you didn't even know existed. Also, the water is advertised as warm, but it was not hot at all -- it felt cold, nowhere near what you would expect from a "warm mineral spring." Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I would not recommend coming here.If you want, I can make a shorter version for Google reviews or make it sound more formal/less emotional depending on where you're posting it.

After researching and talking to several travel agents, Mary Ann Ramsey (I think the owner of Betty McClean travel) was the only one who took time to get to know us, our travel habits, our favorite hotels, etc. Since this was the first time we needed to use an agent, we were slightly nervous. But Betty has been 5 star since the beginning. She gave us great advice about where to stay in the Serengeti, and took time to answer all our questions. Once we decided on staying at Singita Faru Faru, Mary Ann and her team made the whole process a breeze. The arranged all our travel, transfers, visa documents and correspondence with Singita. We even got care packages with maps and books on the animals before we left. A week before our departure, we got another care package with all our documents and travel arrangements printed out, currency conversion, information on all the areas we were traveling to, etc. I know she was in touch with the management at Singita before, during and after our stay, and we also got 30 minutes of complimentary spa massages because she is a Virtuoso agent. Also, when we arrived home we had ANOTHER care package with a beautiful book about the Serengeti. We had an amazing service from start to finish!!! Visiting Africa was an amazing experience, and we are so thankful for Mary Ann Ramsey, Linda Walker, Maggie Ziomek and the rest of her team for making our travels so smooth and wonderful. We are already planning our next trip to Africa, and will be using them again!

After looking at reviews on various sites, I contacted Shalom. He suggested an itinerary and was beyond patient with us as our friends and family also gave input. He took everything into account and came up with the PERFECT itinerary, with room to add or change once we were there. We visited the Golan Heights, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Shalom arranged the hotel for us (except for one which we did on our own since we were using points) and suggested restaurants and activities to do when we were on our own. We were treated as VIPs from the second we stepped off the airplane (yes, we were greeted right off the airplane, not even after going through customs) through the end of the trip. Our tour guide Yehuda got to know us well, and often suggested "just one more stop because you'll love it." - and it was ALWAYS worth it when he did! (I must mention he was also so patient with my endless shopping that I kept insisting on.) Shalom kept both our interests and budget in mind and created a vacation that will forever be so special to my husband and me. We could not have asked for a better tour company to organize and better tour guide to show us around. We have already suggested Shalom and Yehuda to everyone who even mentions thinking of going to Israel, whether it's their first time or hundredth!

From the very beginning to the end of the trip, every single aspect was seamless. Yoel and Shalom are excellent to work with. They provided such a personalized and unique trip experience and they also always responded to my emails right away. My family of 4 went to Israel for 10 days (My parents, brother and myself) and we did SO much in that time, but at our own pace. Shalom Israel Tours was trustworthy with their planning, recommendations and anticipated each and every need we had. The itinerary met the needs of my family, who didn't want to do hiking and jeeping type things but more of a comprehensive tour of Israel and seeing Jewish Heritage Sites. Shalom Israel Tours tailored our itinerary accordingly and it was AMAZING for everyone. Each member of my family was happy, and we don't all have the same needs or interests but they took that into consideration. Our guide, Mordechai Weiss was unbelievable. Not only is he a very knowledgable man but he is so kind and warm and patient. He made everyone feel so comfortable and went the extra mile to provide us with a very special experience. He always made sure that we had enough to drink and had as many bathroom breaks as we needed and pointed us to good lunch spots throughout our trip. At the end of the trip when I wasn't feeling well, Mordechai went above and beyond to got me what I needed and made sure that I was ok. He knew everyone wherever we went in Israel and everyone loved him, and he helped us to navigate a place that was foreign to us. Besides being the most knowledgeable guide, Mordechai is the most pleasant person to spend time with and we genuinely miss him. By the end of the trip, we truly felt that Mordechai was part of our family. I would not look elsewhere when planning a trip to Israel. Shalom Israel Tours is a company that will make your family, friends or whomever you are planning a trip with feel special and like a VIP. It is a family owned business which you can tell because you are not just working with a company, but actual people who care about each detail. They are genuinely nice people and go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need through the entire trip. Highly recommend! I would give it 10 stars if I could:) My family will never forget this experience and it is thanks to Shalom Israel Tours.
