I purchased a used 2014 Jeep Patriot from New Wave Automotive on June 6, 2026. It was represented to me as inspected/certified and covered by a 3-month/3,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. Serious mechanical problems began immediately.
I returned the Jeep approximately four times over the following two months. I was repeatedly told that repairs had been completed and that the vehicle had been test-driven and was operating properly, but the problems returned--on one occasion, within approximately two blocks of leaving the dealership.
Independent repair documentation later identified continuing problems, including shaking at idle and leaking transmission fluid following the transmission work. I now have two invoices totaling approximately $3,000 for diagnostic work and necessary repairs.
Despite repeated requests, I have not received complete repair orders, invoices, technician and parts records, inspection/certification documents, warranty paperwork, or records showing my authorization for all the work reportedly performed. The dealership also refused to continue repairs unless I paid an additional disputed down payment.
Because I use this vehicle for Lyft, repeated problems and extended periods without reliable use of the Jeep resulted in approximately two months of lost or severely limited income, along with additional repair and transportation expenses.
This review describes my personal experience, and I have retained the supporting contracts, messages, photographs, videos, repair invoices, and complaint records. I am asking New Wave Automotive to provide the missing documentation, address the financing discrepancies, honor the warranty as represented, and offer a fair resolution. read more
