The horrific couch with mystery white fluid

If you've ever wondered what it's like to wake up in the middle of the night inside a DIY indoor water park, The Victorian Hotel in Lincoln has you covered, literally. Our ceiling decided to reenact Niagara Falls around 5am., giving us a surprise midnight spa treatment. The floor was soaked, our belongings were drenched, and I'm pretty sure one of my socks floated away to freedom. When we told the staff, they graciously "upgraded" us to a new room that could only be described as... a crime scene from an unsolved mystery. There were white streaks of unknown origin on the couch and walls, so either a ghost had a wild night, or someone mistook the room for a Jackson Pollock canvas. Naturally, we mentioned this to the front desk (because, you know, basic hygiene), and they responded with the kind of hospitality you'd expect from a DMV worker on their last day. Instead of apologizing, they kicked us out for daring to hold them accountable! So, if you're into surprise showers, suspicious stains, and a side of attitude..boy, do I have the getaway for you! Would recommend only to my worst enemy or someone filming an episode of "Hotel Nightmares: Midwest Edition."

There was great parking and it was close to other businesses like restaurants and convenience stores. I had made our reservation as we just entered town. It was late and I was very tired and quick. So quick that I didn't change the number of guests from two to three. We had gotten an extremely great deal using our points and I was worried there would be an issue when we arrived. The reception employee let our third guest, our son, stay at no extra charge. I was so relieved and ready for sleep. When we entered our room I was highly impressed with how roomy it was, how clean, quiet and comfortable. We noticed that check out time wasn't until noon so there wouldn't be any rush to jump up in the morning to leave. The next morning we checked out the indoor pool and work out room. With the pandemic there wasn't a hot breakfast. My son went to the kitchen area and got our free grab and go breakfasts. The sack contained a bottle of water, a small banana nut muffin, a oatmeal raisin bar and mandarin oranges. There is also coffee and juice available 24/7. The staff here is so kind and friendly. When we were ready to leave we found out that we never unplugged our cooler and our battery was dead. When we asked the staff for help they immediately assisted. They said it was part of their service to their guests and they even keep jumper cables behind the front desk just in case they're needed. We were so pleased with our stay here we're already planning another trip. When they asked us if there was anything to make our stay better my husband said he would've liked a coffee pot in the room so he didn't have to hurry and get dressed to keep coming to the lobby to get cups of coffee. I still give this place 5 stars, I feel they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We was on the first floor but there is an elevator inside to help getting to the other floors. An A+ hotel and we'll definitely be back.

The New Victorian Suites in Lincoln, NE simply had the most pleasant staff I have encountered in a very long time. Everyone smiled and there were even cookies and coffee on the counter as we were greeted at the door. The next moment found us thrilled to discover that the pool was open 24 hours! We keep late hours, so, we are often not able to take advantage of these amenities. It is actually quite thoughtful as the world doesn't run 9-5 anymore, people work all kinds of different hours. The room was incredibly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was great. Finishing our stay in the morning with a wonderful breakfast spread was just the icing on the cake. When we come back through Lincoln, we are certainly going to stay here again. Great job!

Paint wear and chips in multiple areas of room and throughout hotel.

There was blood on the bed sheets when I got there and they had carpet bugs. It was ridiculous.

Great hotel for the price. Comfy beds and clean rooms. The pull out sofa bed was great to accommodate all 5 of us.

I love the view in the middle with a nice bar and restaurant. They have a pretty water feature and a half glass elevator. They have tons of rooms and options to choose from. My suite was very spacious and filled with everything I'd need. They have great work station and seating area/ pull out couch in the entry of the room. The breakfast was very tasty and fresh. They offer plenty of options and an omelet bar. The 2 included drinks with room stay are a great touch. I love how they have the catering services down to a science. They are very quick to turn over empty trays and refill everything as needed. They also are great at cleaning up after guests and clearing tables. I love that they use real plates as well- no wasting plastic plates and cups that go in the trash! Servers and front staff are professional and kind. They also offer a valet service and have an attached parking garage with fees. I know they also have a decent gym and pool as well

Staff said they would give it to their "engineer" to fix it, so I tried that. Then, when I got it back, the wheel was wiggly and the Assistant Manager said she glued it back on herself. She was very confrontational the final day of my trip when I inquired about what else they could do because I didn't think the wheel was going to say on. The wheel ended up falling off in the airport and my family of five had to deal with the mess. Honestly, all they could've done is knocked something off my bill. Sure, the suitcase is worn but every suitcase looks worn after a few uses. If I would've broken off the wall lamp in a hotel room, I would've been charged a damage fee - not been able to say "well it wasn't new so..." You're in the hospitality business. At least make an attempt to make things right. From the moment this happened they avoided responsibility- it's not like I wanted to deal with any of this. Also, the shower drain didn't drain and the deadbolt didn't work.

Remarkably inexpensive for the high-quality stay, and lots of great restaurants nearby that are also remarkably inexpensive compared to what we used to in Los Angeles. Miles at the front desk was particularly helpful, and he really deserves a raise. My experience here has left me singing the praises of both this hotel and Lincoln in general.

Upon entering, there was a seal put on the door My remote was placed in a plastic bag (liner bags used for ice buckets), but there was visible stains (possibly splash of coffee with cream?), so I decided to wipe it down. The alcohol pads were FILTHY. On the plus side, there is plenty of sanitizing stations placed through the hotel. Hot breakfast was available for $6.95, and is basically a buffet but the staff serves it for you. Service was excellent, and there were tables reserved for social distancing purposes. Unfortunately I think that guests moved these "reserved for social distancing" signs for their own convenience, and a maskless family of four ended up sitting directly next to me, which made me uneasy. I am here on business that requires a 15ft cargo van that would not fit in the garage. The front desk was knowledgeable enough to know the closest parking lot that could accommodate large vehicles. I was very appreciative as I searched for awhile before calling the front desk. It was 2-3 block walk, but it's better than parking in the 2-hr street parking!

It was also nice because we were able to bring two of our pups with us to stay for the night. There was a small fee, but it wasn't crazy. It did seem unclear on the "amenities" for the dogs because it was made to sound like they had dog beds and water bowls there, but they're for purchase. Thankfully we had brought our own just in case. The room was a little off center, so that was a little annoying but everything else was fine. We didn't hear anyone else during our stay but had seen people on our floor so we knew they were at least there.

Did I mention they're dog friendly?! For $75 more--2 dogs max. The front desk and lobby decor was seriously cute, I think the space behind the front desk was my favorite. They have a little coffee shop and cafe in the lobby and a restaurant and bar off the lobby. We've been to the bar after a Husker game and it was great! I'd recommend going even if you don't stay at the Graduate. Check in was simple but I had to go back down for a little flag to indicate dogs were in the room. They don't provide any pet supplies, but they sell bowls for $25 and have some other pet things. The room was very cute and I loved the vibes and the view. The bathroom icked me out a bit, it was old looking and didn't look shiny and clean. It was also super small! The coffee set up was just packets of instant coffee and paper cups. I went to a conference here (the reason for staying), and it was set up really nicely, there were no complaints there. I think for the price ($266 total for one night), it's a poor value for what you get, but if you don't mind overpaying for a good location this is your place.
