We were shocked at the level of detail included. The design was more than we could have wished for. The Company made some great suggestions such as removing the bulkhead to extend the height of the cabinetry, adding more glass door pantry space, an extended countertop for a seating area, a 7' island with under cabinets for more storage and a stunning granite top. They were so professional and prepared all the appropriate paperwork required for the permits required, handled and organized the contractors, electricians, plumbers etc. Every detail was handled taking the stress out of it for us. We went from a disfunctional 1980's ugly kitchen to a modern, georgous showpiece. I would definately recommend this Company to anyone. We hired D&J to redo our ensuite bathroom. The shower was supposed to be waterproofed with a…read moremembrane to prevent any leaks as we went with a stone floor and tiled walls. We have had several leaks after installation leading us to believe that the waterproofing was not installed correctly. We have contacted them about the leaks but they dismissed them and said they didn't think the work was at fault and we must have tampered with something. Now we have to pay a different company to try and fix their work without ripping out the entire shower, in addition to fixing the damage caused to the dining room ceiling that the water leaked into.

Hired Jamie to renovate our stairs and what a mistake that was. Wanted to stay local, was our first…read moremistake. Day 1, 4 people other than Jamie showed up to demo. Day 2, 2 workers showed up at noon, did very little work. Days 3 & 4, same workers, almost no work done. Day 5, no one showed up. Week 2, 1 worker (come to find out it's Jamie's sister), putted around because she is only the painter & stainer. Partial treads went on by someone else and the only one who knew what he was doing. Part of the railing did not go back on until week 3. Do NOT lean it, it was not sturdy and very wobbly. Jamie would only show up, here and there. Found out 3 days in, he has a full time job at OPG now so he never intended to do the job himself - which we were never told. He had unskilled people doing the little work that got done, wasting our time and money. They did not show up until noon each day and would mainly leave between 4-5:00. At the end of week 3, we finally had enough. The sister and someone else (who I hadn't seen before), all of a sudden showed up on the Saturday to work. We told them to take their tools because we were done. Also, week 3, Jamie asked me twice for more money. I told him I wanted to see more work done before that was happening. When we would ask where Jamie was or if he was coming by, there was always an excuse ... he was at work (OPG), he had to take his son to hockey, his son has a hockey tournament, he has a wake for a co worker, he now has the funeral, his son was in the hospital. Maybe the excuses were legit, but he would never communicate this us, his sister would tell us. He would only apolgize after the fact. We couldn't have either of our grandkids spend the night here and still can't because we don't have a safe railing. I DO NOT recommend this company OR Jamie for anything!!! The worst experience we have ever had with a contractor. Thought going local would be our best thing to do, never again!!! And now we have to hire another contractor to fix and finish the work that was started. This will be week 4 without a railing.
