I took my 15 month old daughter to see Dr. Sugarman for her first dentist appointment. My daughter…read morewon't even show ME her teeth, so I was very concerned about how the checkup would go. From the moment we walked in, I was pleased with the experience. The staff was so friendly, and check in was a breeze; they request you fill out the forms before arriving, which allowed me to just walk on in. (We were the only patients there, which was amazing!) Dr. Sugarman was the kindest, gentlest, and most compassionate man...a perfect pediatric dentist! He explained everything to my child and showed her all his tools before using them. My daughter was NOT happy to be there, but the hygienist and Dr. Sugarman were experienced and patient. The whole appointment only took 15 minutes, which was so convenient. Anyone with a baby knows how hard it is to keep them occupied for long periods of time. Dr. Sugarman addressed all my concerns and took away any worries I had. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this office. I will definitely be sticking with this dentist.

I was very happy with Dr. Sugarman and his staff last year. The reason I am giving a two-star…read morereview is because not everyone in his office is vaccinated against COVID-19. For a pediatric dentist who treats children under 12 who are not able to get vaccinated yet, this is unethical and dangerous. I am very sorry to do this, but if more patients complain or leave the practice, maybe that will convince them of the seriousness of this pandemic.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Dentistry for Children in Clifton, NJ,…read moreconcerning my daughter's braces removal and subsequent service to remove stains left by the braces. Initially, I was informed that the stain removal service would cost $1050 but that I would only have to pay $105 after insurance. I was hesitant due to the fact this was considered cosmetic. I verified this amount multiple times: with the office staff who checked with my insurance companies, the insurance person in the office, and even directly with Dr. Sultan, who reassured me that $105 was the total I would owe. I even confirmed when we returned for the service. However, two weeks after the service was performed, I received a bill for $325.90 When I called the office, they informed me that this was the balance after insurance had paid, meaning I was now out of pocket $430.90 for a service I didn't really want but was CONVINCED to get because they ASSURED me insurance would cover the majority of the cost. After going back and forth with the office I offered to PAY HALF of the unexpected bill, which I thought was FAIR, the office REFUSED, and they are now charging me interest on the outstanding amount. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and feels very misleading. I strongly advise others to be very cautious with this office and Dr Sultan and ensure all costs are clearly outlined and confirmed before agreeing to any additional services. I feel like I was robbed.

I arrived yesterday at 9:30am for my 5 year old daughters FIRST EVER trip to the dentist and MAN…read moredid I pick the perfect place. I walked right in and was shown to a room, there was NO wait, which was honestly almost disappointing because the waiting room looked like a lot of fun. They had a TV with cartoons on, another screen lower down (in a little "kids corner" type area) hooked up to a Wii, and an iPad screwed to the wall with more games than I could even count. We went right into the exam room and I was given an iPad to fill out all the first time paperwork. Front desk staff was extremely pleasant, which is not often the case with medical offices. The nurse was very sweet and polite and attentive, and within under a minute Dr. Chang was in the room and ready to go. I have never been to ANY kind of medical establishment for myself or otherwise, where I haven't had to wait, it was absolutely incredible. Dr. Change was so kind and patient with my daughter, he let her see each of his instruments and explained what each one was for and how it works etc. The nurse let her pick her toothpaste flavor (vanilla, chocolate, bubble gum, and like 3 other options) which I thought was really nice. They had another TV on an arm above the chair so that patients can watch tv while they have their cleaning done! As soon as my daughter hopped in the chair the nurse told her that she could pick whatever she wanted from Netflix, and of course we have Netflix at home ourselves so she knew exactly what she wanted. The cleaning went smoothly, quickly, and without any incident or complaint from my daughter. She was given a new toothbrush and mini toothpaste and we were on our way. I had to stop in the waiting room and fill out the registration paperwork AFTER she was all done, because I had never had the time to fill it out since everything went so fast! I was in at 9:30am and heading back to my car by 10am. Absolutely wonderful experience, great atmosphere and staff, the walls are bright abstract colorful murals and artwork, the nurses all seem happy to be there and eager to help. I will never be changing dentists if every visit continues to be this pleasant. I picked my daughter up from school yesterday and she asked if we could go BACK to the dentist soon!? Thank you P&C team for taking great care of her and making her first experience so positive. I don't know about other people, but this was DEFINITELY NOT what I remember the dentist being like as a kid.

I've learned about this pediatric dentist, the one and only Dr. Hernandez, through Dr. Kashkin's,…read morewhich office is right across her in the same bldg. My son is in the spectrum and we've been introduced to her staff and we immediately made an appointment within the same week. Super accommodating and they truly care for our child and so as to their families. Even during this pandemic my son will put his mask on for a little bit and will give us a hard time getting his temperature but due to his condition they don't force it upon him whenever something environmental is triggering his response. We are fortunate to learn about this place, it's so timely bec our family dentist doesn't know how to deal with kids like him. We had to come back a bit often but it's so worth it. We started pre-pandemic that our son doesn't want to even get inside her clinic, her approach is highly commendable, she went out, got to know him, baby steps, then from there to now that he sits comfortably in the check up chair letting her go through his mouth opening wide for her to see all his teeth. It's a year of some practice at home and going there like every 2 or 3 months. She didn't just specialize on dentistry and behavioral background, she knows where we are coming from straight from home with her own experiences with her family esp having the same kid as mine. It not all about teeth, its about how getting things better in life in general. This year is the 1st time my son who just turned 6 blew his own cake candle, he didn't do that for 5 years, sounds easy for other kids but on our case everything is a bit backed. Office alone, wait time is pretty short, systematic reminding via email or text which can be conveniently confirmed with a single letter response and when we happen to call to front desk, they pick up right away. Aesthetic, it's sensory friendly 100 percent. We are truly grateful to everyone we came across to reach at this point, as Dr. Kashkin first described her to us, the wonderful dentist for kids, I say indeed.

She has been a godsend to my son!
