After some phone calls to the fabric stores list on Google, I found that none of the fabric stores carried what I needed and Michael's had zero fabric. Thank goodness for Hobby Lobby! They had EVERYTHING I needed- faux fur, faux leather, denim, faux suede, extra stiff large size interfacing, poly foam, buttons- etc. The sales woman was extremely helpful and friendly, and didn't mind that we had to pull 6 different fabric bolts, only cutting 1/4 yard from all but one of them. The prices were equal or better than online- and I now have 4 1/2 months to sew this behemoth, rather than endlessly looking on line and trying to ascertain whether the material would look the same color in person as on line, was it heavy enough or too heavy, would it be difficult to sew on my machine, etc. The store is clean and organized. Although the section was busy with shoppers looking to take advantage of the 50% discount, it was fairly easy to find the items that I wanted for my home. Prices were reasonable and quality of items good. The woman working today, Angie, was very kind and helpful. She was doing her job and at the same time did not make me feel like she was a car salesman trying to swindle me or coax me into making a purchase. She seemed honest and trustworthy and genuinely helpful, which I very much appreciated, particularly after coming from Ashley Home Furniture nearby a few minutes before (in which case I felt like they were literally harassing me and following me around, bleh). Furniture can be purchased on site and you can use their mover if needed (for a fee). There are several financing options if that is needed, two you can complete on text and one in store on the computer. I think I will come back here when I am ready to make my furniture purchase(s).
