I completed a sleep study and a titration study here. Clear guidance was given before the sleep…read morestudy and ample calls to confirm were made, because it is not just a typical visit and the study is costly. You should see how much the bill was to insurance! All billing-related matters were cleared with my insurance and with me before providing any services, and I appreciate the due diligence and transparency. At arrival, you pull a ticket at the automated kiosk at the gate to activate the gate arm to allow passage. There was no one in the booth, but I didn't expect anyone to be. Parking prices are clearly posted, but Comprehensive Sleep Care Center validates your parking to $0. There is a lot of surface parking (no garage) and the lot is well lit and at the corner of a fairly well-traveled intersection, so it's not creepy or spooky at all at night even if there wasn't a soul in sight. The exterior of the building is swanky, clean, well maintained, adequately lit, and has upscale decor and vibe. Getting in wasn't too easy, and Datawatch Systems, the vendor that provides after-hours door security and access to this building, had inattentive personnel both times I connected with them by pressing the button at the front pedestal that houses ADA push pad (incredibly long wait with the phone ringing over and over) and then when someone picked up, they sounded like they had just woke up. This was 9 PM. The interior was also very clean and well maintained. There were some cleaning staff that just watched me (probably not permitted to allow strangers to enter) as I struggled with getting someone on the phone to let me in. The lobby of the office is fairly small, with seating for about 5 or 6 people. An attendant came out right away, named Yitz. He was cordial, attentive, professional, and provided clear and confident answers to my questions. You first get your parking ticket validated. Then you are asked to take a COVID rapid test and test negative before you're permitted to continue. The process on-site and next steps were clear. I was assigned one room for the sleep study and a different room for the titration study. Both had their own thermostats, a fan, a TV, a nightstand, an arm chair, a queen-size bed, and plenty of blankets. I waited about 15-20 minutes for the attendant to come hook me up with all the wires for the first study and about 45 minutes for the second study. There were others getting similar studies done, but in their own rooms so privacy is maintained. When you're connected to all the electrocardiography wired pads attached to wires on your legs, chest, and head as well as the strain gauges to measure your breathing (takes about 20 minutes), it's incredibly uncomfortable and awkward to move around so it is quite a challenge to fall asleep but evidently I did well so it might not be as bad as you might think. You could use your phone or read a book, but really the best path is to go to sleep and as normally as you can. In the morning, the technician removes all the pads/wires and if your chest and legs are hairy, hair will rip off. You have the option to shower on site (they provide towels, soap, and shampoo) or just go home. The liquid adhesive that goes on your head to measure brain activity is nasty and feels disgusting on your fingers, so I recommend showering on site. Make sure your parking ticket is validated, or else risk paying $10 to exit. As of mid-December 2022, they don't require masks anymore, but feel free to wear one if it makes you feel more comfortable.

When my sleep study was complete, my follow-up appointment was with a nurse, but the discussion felt more like a sales presentation than a medical consultation. The focus was almost entirely on selling me a CPAP machine, even after I explained that I wasn't interested in CPAP therapy. When I asked about alternative treatments, the conversation ended. I was told that someone would contact me to discuss other therapy options, but they ghosted me.

Fantastic service by the staff and Dr Parmar, I believe they care for you and your well-being…read more Since receiving my dental device I don't snore anymore, wake up feeling better, and use it, unlike the CPAP device that I tried.

I found Sleep Better Maryland back in May 2020. My cardiologist had ordered a home sleep test and…read morewas very dismissive when I asked why, I then found out that the results were in when I received a call to be fit for a CPAP mask. I was furious. Knowing how I sleep, think alligator in a death roll, I knew I was not a candidate for a CPAP, and I also didn't want to be burdened by the costs and maintenance that the machine demands. So, I started looking for a better option and managed to learn about oral appliances for sleep apnea. On my first visit, Dr. Parmar spent the time necessary to explain apnea and more importantly what my results were and what they meant. I was finally being treated like someone with a brain who deserved answers and explanations. An exam, photos and scan (so cool) followed as the first steps toward treating my apnea and freedom. Dr. Parmar was patient even though I wasn't the best patient at first. The adjustment and pulse-ox tests were annoying the first time around. I went back after I broke my device (it did a triple lindy in off the sink) had it sent off for a repair and as it had been 3 years repeated the sleep study and ordered a new device. I now have a backup should something happen, which was nice as the new device broke in short order due to a design issue. My 2nd sleep study, adjustments, and pulse-ox tests all went much better than the first time, the devices were smaller, had fewer wires and were much easier to use. My oral appliance is easy to care for, just brush it and soak once a week, it's easy and comfortable to use, and most importantly it works based on both the pulse-ox study and my wife's lack of complaints about snoring when I use it. Easy to pack and travel with, no issues with TSA unlike a friend who has his CPAP disassembled each flight.

Do not go here…read more.. After being referred to her 2 years ago, I went to see Dr. Pong because my regular neurologist retired from her practice. I was sent home with a 72-hour EEG and told the results stated all my brainwaves were normal; therefore I did not have epilepsy. Doctor Pong then diagnosed me with NES (psychogenic seizures) and referred me to a psychiatrist. She also took me off of the anti-seizure medications I was on. At this time this did not make exact sense because my previous neurologist had diagnosed me with epilepsy based on my symptoms, even though we had not caught the irregular brain waves on an EEG prior. Dr. Pong was very kind and well-mannered, explaining why this diagnosis might fit me. I ended up accepting this diagnosis because some of what she said made sense, although I continued to have seizures which disturbed my life and work. Fast forward to late last year, I had an appointment again at Mid Atlantic, now with Dr. Ramos, to discuss options because the seizures were still disturbing my life, even with therapy and psychiatric help. Do not see Dr. Ramos if you are a woman potentially with NES or epilepsy. I do not believe he is incompetent but he was biased in his approach and did not even explore the possibility there was still something underlying causing these seizures. We were seen, and he said, "You're so brave for coming in to see us." In an attempt to potentially be understanding or kind or whatever reasoning, what he said came off as incredibly condescending. What the hell do I have to brave for? He should have done more investigating to help me. I was still having seizures from multiple times a month to about every month... For the last 2 years. He offered more psychiatric referrals and said there was nothing more we could do. Well, recently I went to another neurologist who finally did a 72-hour EEG with determination to help me figure things out and found the epileptic activity on this EEG to explain my seizures. The entire time from 2 years ago until now I could have been seizure-free while on medication and not missing work, school, and life.

Not impressed. I…read morecame here because I've been dealing with chronic insomnia for a while now. I was mainly looking for someplace close by that was in-network with my insurance. This place fit both criteria. When I called to book an appointment, they told me the next appointment with a sleep doctor was months out - after checking again, they were able to give me an appointment about 3 weeks out. I've had a sleep study done before, and had my results of the sleep study forwarded to this office well in advance of my appointment (I even called to confirm they had received them). Despite this, they decided another at-home sleep study was necessary. The at-home sleep study provided no new information that the previous sleep study provided. If I hadn't already hit my out of pocket max on my insurance, that would have been a significant out of pocket expense. My suspicions are that the main motivation for the at-home sleep study was $$$. I then saw Dr. Klein, who diagnosed my sleep problems as staying asleep as opposed to falling asleep. He prescribed me a medication which was supposed to help me stay asleep. This did nothing for my problems falling asleep and my insomnia continued. Fast forward 2 months later and I'm back in front of Dr. Klein. He prescribes me another medication; this one is supposed to help me fall asleep. When Dr. Klein prescribed this medication, I specifically asked him if weight gain was a potential side effect and he emphatically answered no. I checked with my normal psychiatrist as well as WebMD who both confirmed weight gain was a frequent side effect with this medication. This says to me that Dr. Klein was either lying to me or grossly incompetent. Either way, I'm never coming back to this practice again.

For a while, we considered doing it on our own but were overwhelmed by all the information out there. We wanted a customized plan for our son and our unique circumstances, and we wanted to do it right from the beginning to make the process as quick and painless as possible. And that it was! He started sleeping through the night on night 1. I don't think that would have happened if we relied on our own Internet research, and we would have been questioning ourselves every step of the way. We also appreciated Kendra's gentle approach. We didn't want our son to have to "cry it out". She was realistic in telling us that there would be SOME tears, but she gave us a plan that allowed us to be in the room with him, supporting and comforting him periodically. Here's what you can expect: - 15 min free discovery call - Parents complete a questionnaire about the baby's current schedule, sleep, eating, etc - 90 min call where she goes over a customized plan based on the questionnaire (extremely detailed) - Decide when you want your 2 week period to begin - 4 follow up calls, one the day after sleep training starts - During the 2 week period, you can reach out to her anytime on Voxer (a messaging app) and email We had a great experience! She made a potentially very scary and stressful process relatively easy. Our lives have totally changed. Sleep is a game changer. No more middle of the night wake ups, and no more holding baby to sleep (and risky crib transfers). Thank you Kendra!

Just do it, it's life changing. This is one of the best decisions I made as a parent, for our whole…read morehousehold. Our baby is sleeping 11 hours at night with no wake-ups, with 3 hours of naps with clockwork consistent timing. I truly believed our son was just on the very low end of the sleep needs range. At 10 months old, he was still going to bed late, waking 2-4 times a night, and waking up early in the morning. We read a lot online about sleep routines and optimization of the sleep environment. We tried non-stimulating activities before bedtime. We tried "drowsy but awake". Nothing made an appreciable difference. It felt like we'd tried everything and exhausted online resources. We were in desperate need of consistent and continuous sleep. Admittedly, I previously felt pressured by a lot of the recent social media posts saying sleep training is harmful and unnatural. These claims are NOT backed by science by the way. I was wary that sleep training would be synonymous with "cry it out" and did not want my baby to feel abandoned. Thankfully, Kendra provided precise and gentle sleep training instruction. There were some tears, but we were in the room with him to provide comfort as we both learned a new skill together. The differentiators were (i) having a very detailed plan that I could follow, not just general concepts, (ii) receiving benchmarks of how long he would take to go down and how long certain phases would last, and (iii) having a resource to ask questions to as bespoke situations arose. Kendra's plan and support has given me the confidence to handle nighttime sleep and naps like a pro. She has given me back crucial nighttime sleep, so I can continue to work to my fullest potential and give tons of energy to my son during playtime. She's taken away the fear of "solo parenting" while my husband is away on travel for work.
