i was skeptical to come in because of the appearance they have. the windows are almost frosted coated from how old they are, the chairs are all computer chairs that look like they were just pulled off the street garbage. and the signs are all torn and worn. but, i needed a spot that wasn't as crowded on a saturday (and i really wish i waited the hour at another salon.)
i came in for a mani/pedi ($25) they told me to choose a color (most were $1-$2 nail polishes you can get at the 99¢ store, and a few essie nail polishes) they sat me at a chair for my pedicure with a broken/missing arm rest. she told me to put my feet into the water, and it was freezing, then randomly got crazy hot!
she pulled out tools that were not sanitized. i looked around for a sanitizing box where salons usually put their tools in after using them. god knows how many people they've used these on. and after the last foot dip, WHILE MY FEET WERE STILL IN THE WATER, she dips the tools into the water to clean the dead skin she just scraped off my feet... the paint job wasn't too bad.
time for manicure. the seat was no longer black. it was grey with tape holding the bottom together. when she began to paint them, she "tried" cleaning the edges. i got a rose off white color, so it needed a third coat because i could still see my nail. i politely asked to get a third layer because it was too transparent. she seemed bothered and just splatted the nail polish on my nails and didn't clean the edges, as if i had put her in an inconvenient spot.
