I came to New Leaf Ayurveda a year ago after making my liver very angry with a functional medicine supplement regimen. After trying some gentler Ayurvedic remedies, I came to the conclusion that my body just doesn't want supplements of any kind. So I worked with Nicole and tapped in to my own intuition to achieve a "food as medicine" approach to healing and health. Though I thought I was eating well before (whole foods, paleo), the wisdom of Ayurveda shows that no diet is one size fits all. I now eat according to my dosha (constitution) to keep a balance and address anything that comes up. That, along with adopting some Ayurvedic lifestyle practices, has me healthy and happy. As the Ayurvedic proverb goes, "When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use; when diet is correct, medicine is of no need." I appreciate the individualized care at New Leaf and highly recommend them if you are fed up with the western medicine model or trying to patch together a self-treatment plan. I learned the hard way how dangerous that can be. Nicole is a skilled practitioner, and the entire staff is friendly and helpful and make me feel truly cared for. read more

Been suffering from congestion, cough and lack of energy the last three weeks. Whenever I thought I was better, my body just gave in again. So grateful Sacramento has a place like New Leaf Ayurveda. I got an Ayurvedic abhyanga massage with herb infused oils specially formulated for me and what my body was going through. Followed by svedana herbal steam with the most sweet smelling and magical oil blend my senses have ever experienced. So I breathed deeply and took it all in. I feel like I detoxed months, maybe years, of stress and exhaustion. I am so grateful. read more

New Leaf Ayurveda literally saved my life. I came in a little over 2 years ago with severe damage from years of being poisoned by psychiatric drugs. I'd already been off of them for 8 years at that point and had healed quite a bit, especially mentally, but I was still struggling with severe neurological damage, bone damage and other issues caused by those awful neurotoxic drugs.. Nicole takes the time to truly explore what's happening with your body and mind and prepares a protocol specific to your needs. Her protocols, the food, well as abyhanga massages from her and the other amazing practitioners, as well as prescriptive yoga have produced healing I never thought was possible. Allopathic quacks who know nothing about healing told me I was permanently damaged. That was not the case. Ayurveda can heal things that western medicine cannot, including the damage that it causes! I'm grateful every day for NLA. I see a couple of bad reviews from this place, but one is from a client who didn't follow the protocol (healing takes time and full commitment) and the other is from a pharmacist who's main source of information is a pharma funded propaganda site. As you can see from all the other great reviews, NLA is the real deal. Healing is possible. I would recommend New Leaf Ayurveda to anyone suffering from any condition. Ayurveda vs allopathic Rockefeller drug pushing nonsense? No comparison. There's no question that ayurveda is the path to real healing. read more

It has been such a blessing to find New Leaf Ayurveda I was experiencing dizziness, constant bruising, cramping, bloating and a few other things and Nicole has helped me so much! In just about a month, I have no more cramping, dizziness or bloating. The dizziness and bruising stem from an iron deficiency and we are still working on that but I love coming here SO much more than visiting the doctors my health insurance covers. You can make genuine and personal connections here and it is such a relief from how you're treated by "regular" doctors/staff. Not only has my physical health improved but my mental health as well. I was experiencing a lot of anxiety and stress and since my first visit, I feel more confident and have so much more clarity. I literally love this place and fell in love with Ayurveda. Thank you Nicole and I'm so happy to have found you and your team read more

Finding New Leaf Ayurveda has truly been life changing for me. Nicole is one of the warmest people I have had the pleasure to meet and she has gathered the most wonderful staff. Each staff member is friendly, kind, caring and are all working together as a close knit team to help their clients. I have undergone panchakarma twice in the past several years. Both times the treatment was truly generic in nature. The treatments were preformed in a wonderful spa setting and I was away from my real life. I came away well rested and pampered both times but no real health issues were addressed. My experience after having undergone panchakarma with New Leaf Ayurveda is totally different. The words "life changing" are not an overstatement. My current health and mental issues were addressed. The pre panchakarma protocol and diet really prepared my body and mind for the process. I lost several pounds but the weigh loss was just a pleasant side affect, the true transformation is the mind body connection that has occurred. I am years younger and capable to begin a brand new chapter in my great book of life. The rebirth of yet another baby boomer! My new dharma is just around the corner and I can't wait to discover what the future holds. I could just go on & on with praise for New Leaf Ayurveda. I can't believe how wonderful my experience has been. Thank you all. read more

This place is AMAZING! I was having some fairly serious health problems. I had been to see my regular MD several times and was basically told that there was nothing they could do for me, except refer me to a vascular surgeon. A friend told me to give Ayurveda a try. Working in health care for the last 15 years, I was a total skeptic (I thought that Ayurveda was a bunch of hokum). But, I was scared and desperate enough to try anything. I saw Nicole Wilkerson and she spent 2 1/2 hours with me. She gave me a "prescription" of what I could and could not eat and two bottles of herbs. After three days on the treatment, I saw DRAMATIC results! Now, after nearly thee months of following the prescription and talking the herbs, I am so much better that my regular doctor asked me what I have been doing. He told me he almost didn't recognize me because I look (and feel) so much better! I am a total convert! If Western medicine is not helping you, you need to see Nicole! The results are nothing shy of incredible! read more

New Leaf Ayurveda - Love!. Love!! all the knowledge they provide.. But Best of all getting the work that is needed to heal the heart the mind and the soul. - Ayurveda Near Me - Sacramento, California

I had a massage with Nic the other day that I feel compelled to write about. This man has IT. The it that holds you in loving intention and crystallized attention. He has the ability to track you and sense your bodies needs. By applying just the right amount pressure, you feel as if your body is an open book. There has only ever been one other massage therapist that had this ability when working on me and that was Nicole, who also happens to be the director of NEW LEAF AYURVEDA. She's taken the time to teach, rub off on and/or nurture Nic and he just flat out GETS IT! Thank you, thank you. read more

Nicole and her team are the best! They're wise and loving guides towards your best health. I came to them with a serious case of eczema that doctors only patched with steroids, in the process damaging my skin and causing steroid addiction. I didn't think healing was possible. I had forgotten how clear skin felt like. In six months working with Nicole I saw the miracle: my skin was cleared. They teach you how to live your best life yet and they use food as medicine, amongst many other way. If you want to learn how to live well, come. You will love it read more

I was referred by my Ayurvedic Practioner for Abhinga massage, which is 2 hour swedish massage in western terms. However, it was unlike any other massage I had ever received. The work that is done on the feet alone was worth it. And the strokes were not light, they were just enough. Honestly, I dozed off for a few minutes, but then I was very relaxed to enjoy the rest of the massage. PS Being treated for Vata imbalance, nervous system imbalance. The ayurvedic dosha balancing tea at the end of the experience was a nice ending. I left feeling cared for, and wanting to try an ayurvedic facial and skin care consultation. And, the sensation of warm oil being poured over your body was so relaxing I wondered if I could actually soak in a tub in the oil, it felt so good. read more

Nicole is truly an amazing healer and I'm so thankful to have found her!!! I had been suffering for years with symptoms that were gradually worsening and quality of life was at all-time-low for me. I had been to Kaiser numerous times with many tests done but the tests revealed nothing and my doctor eventually suggested anti depressants for my "condition". I was plagued by the following issues - Chronic fatigue, debilitating brain fog, joint aches and pains, body odor, no libido, hair loss, inability to exercise, inability to lose weight, hypoglycemia, bad anxiety, nutritional deficiencies, and low blood pressure. After only 3 weeks of following Nicole's protocol to the letter, 70% of my issues were gone! It took only another 4 weeks to achieve 100% relief from my symptoms. Thanks to Nicole I have my life back!!! read more

I started receiving care from the New Leaf family in March of 2013. At that time, I was overwhelmed with stress, overweight, sickly, and I lacked a positive outlook. My western doctor offered Xanax and I said "no way". The care I received via massage treatments, mind/body/soul health consults, & pancha karma treatments have all helped me to reverse these problems. They have also helped my wife in the same respects. Many thanks to the New Leaf family for giving the gift of health to me and my family. read more

Im sorry but i didn't get the treatment everyone else got apparently. I went to this place after having some health problems. After a consult with Nicole she assured me she knew what was wrong & even assured me she had similar issues. After a 1 hour consult she prescribed me alot of products. I had no reason to doubt her as she seemed very sure of herself. Well over $500 dollars later i walked out of there hopeful with all my pills she gave me. I used everything exactly like planned and after a month noticed nothing had changed if anything maybe got worse. I contacted nicole like she had asked me to and nothing. I contacted the office and they left her a message. She replied 3 days later stating she was sick & stated "i hadnt used the products long enough & added 2 more that she thought i needed. I went in & picked those up like a sucker another $70.00 & big surprise, no change in my health problem. So moral of the story this place is a ripoff i have stopped taking her "products" & still have some just sitting in my cupboard and i feel jipped & ripped off! read more

I suffered from chronic health issues for years. Medical practitioners prescribed pharmaceutical drugs with unavoidable side effects. Four months ago, I heard about New Leaf Ayurveda from a professional colleague and booked an intake session with Nicole. Since then, I have assumed an ayurvedic life style, fostered through regular consultation with Nicole supplemented by monthly massage with Dan. I have discontinued all prescription drugs. And I feel great! My symptoms are completely gone. read more

Would you recommend New Leaf to a friend? Definitely not. Was your experience at New Leaf beneficial? No. A year after my first set of treatments at New Leaf I am still in the care of a physician trying to recover from the harm caused by the treatments and recommended lifestyle changes given by the director, Nicole Wilkerson. In your opinion was the director competent to provide the services given? No. The director of New Leaf, Nicole Wilkerson, presented herself to me as a Lyme disease specialist. In fact she is not a licensed healthcare professional. She is not licensed as a certified massage therapist and has no certified medical training. An untrained uncertified practitioner is not allowed to diagnose, give medical advice or medical treatment. I believe that the director did all three of these things in my case with no appropriate training. Other comments: As a Lyme patient extreme caution is needed in choosing a healthcare practitioner. I have learned not to let desperation blind me to the harm treatments can cause, especially if provided by uneducated, uncertified, self-aggrandizing providers. Do you recommend Ayurveda for Lyme patients? There are many very excellent Ayurvedic clinics in the U.S. that have U.S. trained medical professionals providing and overseeing the care of patients. Next time I will choose one of these. I will not do pancha karma again. I believe it is too harsh for a Lyme patient and may increase inflammation. However, medical care directed by an Ayurvedic physician with certified medical training (N.D., M.D., or chiropractic) has been very beneficial for me. read more

I was first introduced to New leaf after taking a weekend Intro to Ayurveda seminar with Nicole. I fell in love with the healing science and have been studying Ayurveda ever since. I have had multiple abhyanga massages and have recently completed my first PK. The staff at New Leaf guided me through the whole process with compassion and support. They do not make you feel as if you are just a client, but rather a dear friend. Their approach teaches you how to create a healthy balanced lifestyle and gain insightful knowledge about yourself. Trully a holistic approach to healing. New leaf is not a spa, but a healing clinic, if you are looking for a place to heal not only your body, but your mind & spirit this is where to go. After a series of recommendations, my daughter found New Leaf. Upon seeeing what they were doing for her, and how they treated the whole person, body and mind, I was very impressed and started going there myself. Slowly, I also was guided towards better health through a series of recommendations of change of routine and diet using the Ayurvedic tools, which seem both logical and practical. Their sugggestions are life-changing. Healing massages and treatments are done with the utmost attention to your needs. Nicole and her staff are extremely knowledgable and experienced. I am so thankful that I found New Leaf Ayurveda. Nicole and her team are fantastic! From my very first visit, I knew it was where I needed to be to change my life. There is no detail that they overlook, and it's such a supportive and nurturing environment every step of the way. Ayurveda is based on science and has been around for thousands of years, so I love that it "just makes sense." But Nicole takes it a step further with her special gift for making it work in the real world, with our busy lifestyles. Even small changes can make a difference, and it's easier to implement the changes when you understand the importance because she communicates it so well. The more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it. But that's the cool part - real results, pretty much right away. And the massages are amazing, because they can customize it to you much better than a normal massage would. I always leave thinking "that was EXACTLY what I needed." You can really tell that they love what they're doing, and they love taking care of other people. Thank you New Leaf! read more

New Leaf Ayurveda offers the best Yoga classes (with the use of props used for support in the body so that you can hold poses for longer allowing you to open your body through passive stretching) The use of blocks, bolsters and blankets eliminate unnecessary straining and have helped me with my herniated disc in my lower back. The instructor has many years experience and is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this yoga studio! read more
