Dr. Olson helped me tremendously with my trap tightness. Dr. Jennifer is the best care giver I've had - period. I have to set the scene of my previous "care" - I have been through the wringer in trying to find treatment for my back pain that started all of a sudden with no previous injury. I have been suffering for 2 years and I've been through exams, scans, and thrown into pain management programs that are basically there to tell you how to breathe while you're in pain but nothing about the pain, why, or what to do about it (even physical therapists barely touched me!). I finally started looking outside my insurance providers and I'm so glad I did! After a TON of online research, I found Now + Zen - the punny name hooked me, but all of the certifications and thought listed on the website that brought me in. The first appointment I booked the Happy Buddah package online with Dr. Jennifer. I walked in and was greeted with the most accepting and calming smile and shown to the treatment room. She sat down and asked me a few questions and I just started spilling, going over my frustrations and my theories on my pain and everything in between. Dr. Jennifer never said I was wrong or broke concentration to my story and also said she wanted to help me with this pain - this act in itself gave me more hope than I felt for 2 year into now chronic pain. The Happy Buddah package consisted of light massage, cupping, and acupuncture. I felt opened up in my movement like I had been previously operating with a heavy turtle shell that she allowed me to shed - even a little freedom was a giant step for me. She said there were other things that we could try in the next coming appointments and gave me acupressure gold ear seeds for further treatment. I was stunned just in the attention I was getting where someone believed they could keep trying things to help my issue. I wasn't able to come back for over a month then my second appointment I just signed up for the acupuncture with add-on cupping. Before the appointment I had noticed that when I lifted my arm a certain way I was able to pinpoint a giant knot where the pain felt like it was stemming from. I told Dr. Jennifer this and she set the bed up so that she could treat me with my arms a certain way. I asked how often I should schedule and she said we will go along as I feel. She doesn't want to over treat and over charge me which I appreciate and she said to call her to plan the next treatment together. It may be slightly ignorant and selfish to say but if I have someone stabbing me with needles and sucking out toxins with hot glass cups and so on, I prefer someone who loves what they're doing ( this is not to say it feels like I made it sound. if anything if she wasn't talking me through the steps I probably would have never known) Not only do I love her energy but I love and honestly a bit surprised by how much of a difference everything made. I've never done any of the treatments she offers before but immediately after the treatments I told her I was hooked. I felt good and very relaxed and definitely thought of it as a nice self care day that made a bit of a difference dropping tension level in half. A day later I kept thinking about how "loose" I felt since a lot of focus was on my super tightness around my shoulders and neck. I was basically flapping my arms like a bird with excitement that I was able to move not so restrictively after who knows how long now. It felt zen-like walking in and I was very excited to get started, but it seemed as though she wasn't too attentive because she also left a few needles in me, so when I went to put on my pants, I felt a sting on my leg and realized there was a needle in my thigh. FIVE + STARS! I have been to five different acupuncture clinics over the past several years. All of them were good, but Dr Jennifer is EXCELLENT! First, most practitioners charge an initial assessment fee of around $200. Dr. Jenn prefers that you save your money for treatments. There is no initial assessment charge! Second, her clinic is clean, welcoming and updated. She uses high quality massage tables with soft ,comfortable bedding, uand table warmers! There is also parking!
