I recently had a biopsy at the NJ Urology surgical center in Voorhees, NJ. My doctor was Dr. Randy Ackerman. The staff did a perfect job. They were very attentive, kind and considerate. I liked Dr brown but when I went to cherry hill office there were 15 people waiting and more standing in lobby. I waited half hour and not one person was taken back. I asked desk how many doctors were there and she said 1 and there would be a long wait. I would have been there many hours and I have a life!! Will not be going back. Communication between doctors & patients needs huge improvement. In addition, proper initial assessment of a patient along with genuine caring needs to be verbalized asap. Stringing patients along for outpatient care without patients recognizing the purpose of the appointment i.e. no definitive direction causes one to wonder if they are milking insurance companies. read more

The reviews for New Jersey Urology leave a lot to be desired. Mostly one stars due to serious patient dissatisfaction with the quality of service regarding how the practice in the front office was run, it is clear that something had to be done to improve the situation, or seize an opportunity to sell the practice to a better health management company. Although no one would answer my questions about what had happened there, it soon became apparent that the office people were either kept in the dark or told not to disclose anything about the changes in the business. A little evidence found in the office and online led to the deduction that Summit Health, a regional health care company, had taken over the operations of NJ Urology either by merger or some legal process, and had assumed the practice and obligations of the old entity, which at one point had also been known as Urology Care Alliance. This operation was in a different building that the former practice with the same doctors. That may or may not mean something, but doesn't change the outline of this story. What is most important is that as currently constituted, the urological practice appears well managed, and I was quite satisfied with the nurses, nurse practitioners and Dr. Yamamoto was first rate. Given the confusion around the names and history of this business it is understandable they would seek a stronger umbrella to work under. Management should consider explaining all these changes to their patients rather than having them wonder about what was going on with all the name changes and moving offices. A little proactive public relations goes a long way. read more

Communication with this group of doctors is TERRIBLE. I got an appt, I did the usual wait in the waiting room and then saw the doctor. I was in pain and the doctor told me that they would send a script to my pharmacy for pain meds & flomax. Pharmacy got the flomax order but never got the pain meds order. I tried to call the Office and was told by a machine that there were 39 calls in front of me did I want to leave a call back number, I did and was told by the machine that someone would return my call by the end of the day. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN, in fact when I called again the next day the machine told me there were 31 people in front of me and that I was on the list to be called so please be patient. So 24 hours later, I am still in pain and no way to communicate with the Doctors office. DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE FOR CARE - GO ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

Had a scheduled appointment for noon at overlook hospital. When I got there my appointment was for 4 all of sudden. Called the woman in charge of scheduling (the same woman who called a few days before to tell me the appointment was at noon), only for her to lie and say she never said that. They keep changing their name but the care/follow up(LACK OF) misinformation, misdiagnosis, delays for treatment, forgetting to prescribe prescriptions continues regardless of their name. If you call, expect to be on hold for 30 minutes to an hour. If you leave a message or a call back number, don't expect to ever receive a call back. I scheduled a procedure three months ahead. The week of the procedure, they left a message that I needed to reschedule. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes, I was able to reschedule. It is imposible to communicate with this medical group by phone call, you can never get through. They are the worse !!!

I.The main office repeatedly refused to let me speak to a nurse, I simply wanted the nurse to give my doctor a message and ask a question. I have explained to them that I only feel comfortable speaking to medical staff and still refuse to help, I have been their patient with them for years. II. I have arranged telemedicine with my Doctor(Dr.Koota) and he never called me . They are a waste of time.. I. Instead of giving perscription to me personalty they handle the order personaly(I had to pay them instead of pharmacy) I later spoke with the pharmacy and was informed that the price of medication was about 30% less. I am fed up calling to their office. No one picks up phone, You are lucky if they pick up but they put you on HOLd for indefinite period. After trying multiple times on Friday Nov. 6th I was able to talk to them. They told me they are sending an email to enable me set up Patient Portal but it is yet to come as on date. You sign in - no interaction at all You wait, sometimes for hours with no acknowledgement that they even know you are there. Forget your dreams about someone answering a phone. I came to my appointment to get the lab results for my 3 month post op after radical prostatectomy. The 3 month PSA test is critical. That's what I was there for. I forgot to bring my wallet to urologist appt today. When they asked for copayment of $40, I explained and said I would mail it. They refused to let me see doctor and cancelled my appt. I would have to reschedule. I will NEVER set foot in this practice again. Never. No compassion. You are just dollar bills sitting in the waiting room. Do not go here. I had an appointment and saw Dr Keeler for an initial problem of an elevated PSA. Dr Keeler was excellent as was the office staff on the day of the appointment. I was told a biopsy was in order and that the girl who scheduled these would contact me. My initial appointment was on September 26. Just today, OCTOBER 26, I received a call to schedule the biopsy. With a threat of cancer being a possibility a wait if one full month to hear back from the office is ridiculous!! Switched to Penn Urology and not only got a timely appointment but Biopsy was scheduled the day of my appointment and will take place very soon. I would not recommend Delaware Valley Urology to ANYONE I care about. read more

I had an appointment in Feb. 2019 and had the labwork completed at my normal lab, which is covered by insurance. In early April, I got a $795 bill from some lab in Massachusetts and I have since been calling and asking about this bill. I was told a person named Rosemary was looking into this bill and several others (she said there were 35 more, the one time she actually returned an email on the patient portal, which was in August) from this same lab and that NJ Urology was going to work on correcting these bills. I have since received four more bills from this lab, but it is impossible to get an answer from Rosemary, as she never returns calls. I'm getting so fed up with this lack of professionalism. I'd be interested to know how many others have tried to get answers to billing situations and how many people have been met with deaf ears. read more

I really liked my Doctor but I left the practice because the wait time, several times in excess of two hours, did not work for me.

This is the worst practice I have ever been to. All they do is make you come in for appointments so you have to pay more money and they send you for tests that are not needed. Even if you can't afford the tests they tell you that you need them before they will help you with your problem. They can't even get their name right, are they NJ Urology or Delaware Valley Urology? My brother is having the same problem with them now. They scare you into thinking you have bladder cancer, even though blood tests come back negative. If you need a urologist, run don't walk, away from NJ Urology. read more

I have been a patient here for years and Dr. Scott Asroff has helped me and he is outstanding! You know us older guys get that ED and PE stuff and we need help! I used to go to Boston Medical Group in Philly but I was paying thousands of dollars, literally thousands for the drug. Now, with the help of Dr. Asroff I only pay $80 for the drug that lasts me 10 to 15 sessions. You know what I mean! And Dr. Asroff is such a cool guy - you feel totally relaxed and confident in his prognosis. Even when he has to give me a rectal exam I tell him "Doc - we have to stop meeting like this!" Yeah. You have to wait a half hour or 45 minutes but relax and watch TV while your blood pressure calms down. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Dwash. I called the practice yesterday to inform them that I was still in pain after taking two courses of the antibiotic prescribed. I was told the doctor was not in but his nurse would return my telephone call. I never received a telephone call from the practice. This is not a good way to run a business especially a medical practice. read more

I would not recommend this practice.In Mount Laurel,NJ. I was treated for the wrong problem and stopped going there. My GP told me to go for a checkup after my two years of absence. Dr Perzin said he could fix me and I asked what it would cost me in out of pocket cost because I didn't have insurance to cover the 20%. He told me my cost would be $400.00. It turned out to be over $1,100.00. When I called for my 30 day checkup. I was told I missed my appointment by one day and I couldn't get another until I paid my bill. At that time I had not received a bill but was told about the $1,100.00 balance. I have never had a review of my surgery. Stay away from DVU. I recently needed information on the metal staples that they put in me,so that i could get a echo-gram at Virtua hospital. I told the hospital it was titanium. DVU would not tell them. A Dr came from DVU stuck his hand down my pants felt my jewels and left. I was billed over $120.00. by this blood sucking practice. I still have my original problem. read more

I recently went in for a procedure at 15000 Midlantic, Mt Laurel. Based on prior experience, some of the staff are truly outstanding, Dawn, a nurse, is outstanding and so are some of the other nurses along with some of the others who do intake, etc. The urologist, Dr Daugherty, has a good bedside manner and I believe he is a good doctor. But this time there seemed to be a lack of communication and coordination at the staff and/or record keeping level. I went in to get processed and didn't have to wait an unreasonable time. A front desk staff person had me check my ID band and I told her it was the wrong phone number, I don't think this was her fault but they had my dad's phone number (maybe 15 years ago he went to NJ Urology when it was under a different name) instead of mine. It seemed they had my dad's records on the screen instead of mine, we have a similar name. In any event, there was confusion as to the information on the screen. I told the front desk staff person I was to get an antibiotic along with an antibiotic prescription for after the procedure as I recuperate. Then I was called in and another staff person did a more complete intake. She gave me an antibiotic shot and said the additional antibiotics would be called in to my pharmacy, she seemed very professional. While doing the intake she had to explain to an apparently very new staff person what an enema is, I guess most staff training aside from doctors and nurses is OJT. Then I went to meet the anesthesiologist. He was nice and noted that I was allergic to penicillin. I told him I was not, and that NJ Urology already has in their records that I am not. The procedure seemed to go ok, no complaints. At the out take front desk they had my name again confused with my dad's (not fixed yet?). And they had a visit follow up time (correct date though) that differed from the time I had already received in my followup visit paperwork (in my foggy post procedure state I, not the out take staff person, caught this discrepancy). Post procedure, my wife and I had something to eat at a restaurant and after eating I was in some pain from the procedure (I remembered about 6 months ago I had a less invasive similar procedure and they told me not to sit, this time they didn't tell me and I forgot what they had told me before) after I got up from eating. Next, we went to my pharmacy to pick up the supposedly called in antibiotic. It had not been called in. So my wife called the office and the person answering the phone said he would put in an emergency to get the request in and call us back right away (or words to that effect). After about 20 minutes we called back not having heard anything. The next person who answered the phone said she couldn't do anything without the doctor's permission which is understandable. But what wasn't so understandable is she said the doctor hadn't been told about the antibiotic. Yet another communication gaff it would seem. That said, she did promptly get a hold of my urologist and called in the antibiotic. read more
