I had been experiencing some dizziness and ultimately fell and injured myself from passing out. A friend did some research and suggested NJ Massage. After ONE SESSION, the dizzy spells were profoundly reduced - with the understanding that at least one follow-up visit might be necessary. In the meantime, I got to have my first decent night's sleep in months and (incidentally) my experience of simply BREATHING with unclogged nasal passages was nothing less than transformed. Dr. Heisler is a seasoned, tremendously knowledgeable, intuitive, pioneering and - above all - caring and friendly professional. Stop "researching" and make an appointment, already - ESPECIALLY if you're a Senior Citizen! read more

Everyone seems to formulate opinions about the massages that they receive based upon their perception of how well their therapist performs the basics and addresses THEIR expressed needs and perceived issues--in other words, their assessment is based upon the knowledge that THEY do, or do NOT, possess. The problem with this approach is that, all things being equal, most folks are CLUELESS when it comes to anatomy, sub-anatomy, and the minutiae of just how our MENTAL state controls our body's responses and dis-ease. If you are satisfied with your own (SURELY) inadequate knowledge base, and content to judge the caliber of massage therapy that you receive based thereupon, then stick with what isn't working for you--and succeeds only in lightening your wallet as it gives you a short-duration palliative cure. However, IF you want Massage Therapy that constitutes the best start in a whole-body approach to total health; IF you want Massage Therapy that will address not only your aches and pains, but the underlying causes and peripheral affects; IF you prefer to seek REAL, EFFECTIVE, WHOLE-BODY treatment from a MASTER THERAPIST, TEACHER, YOGI, and HEALTHCARE GURU--not only of a MULTITUDE of MANUAL MASSAGE techniques and treatment modalities, but--FROM ONE OF THE MOST CARING, PERCEPTIVE, AND TUNED-IN HUMAN BEINGS that you could EVER have the good fortune to meet...then you simply MUST seek out MASTER LARRY HEISLER--founder and director of the North Jersey Massage Training Center!! LARRY HEISLER is an astonishingly intuitive and MASTERFULLY trained and decades-experienced healer of BODY AND MIND. Those THERAPISTS with whom he affiliates and whom he employs at the North Jersey MTC are subject to his constant supervision, training, and ongoing input on being the BEST in the field. THEY HAVE NO PEERS, NOR SUPERIORS. Quite frankly, I went through the most horrendous divorce, where I lost a child to a mentally ill ex, and not only SURVIVED INTACT, but THRIVED--CAME OUT BETTER, because I availed myself of treatment on a near daily basis by MASTER LARRY HEISLER and his STAFF for a period of FOUR MONTHS. They SAVED MY LIFE with their warm, kind, detailed bodywork & gentle, conversational mental health work--that was also a part of their Massage Therapy program for me--simply through focusing my thought processes UPON what was required, and AWAY from toxic, useless thought patterns that would only make me ill. MY GRATITUDE is ongoing and endless. I not only was healed of my physical and psychological issues by their treatment, I received life-lessons that continue to heal me to this very day--A FULL TWENTY YEARS LATER!! You simply CAN NOT go anywhere better. While there are MANY good therapists, MASTER LARRY HEISLER simply has NO PEERS...HE IS A RARE GEM, and an astute, warm, funny, loving, and humble man who will change your life FOREVER! Do NOT PASS UP the opportunity to address your body's (and your psyche's) needs to be healed BY THE AMAZING FOLKS at the North Jersey Massage Training Center. Your life will never be the same--and THAT is a very GOOD THING!! read more

Larry is amazing. My boyfriend set up a massage for me for my birthday because I've been having back pain after giving birth. When I arrived for my massage, Larry greeted me with a very enthusiastic "surprise". It was so lovely. Larry was very informative about what they offered. I originally went in just for a massage, but also ended up getting what's called a facial massage. I've gotten facials before but this was something different in a good way! My massage was amazing and Larry did an amazing job on my lower back. Larry has the hands of an angel. Left feeling like I was walking on clouds. Definitely will be back. read more

During the introduction, Larry asked if there were any areas of pain or discomfort. I mentioned that my lower back had been bothering me. I'm not sure what Larry did, but 5 days later and I am struggling to get out of bed. Leaving the office, my back was worse than when I had walked in. The office is more clinical than I had expected. Lastly, Larry passed personal judgment in our casual conversation about where I went to college 25 years ago - belittling a state school in the south when compared to an Ivy League in the northeast. Not knowing anything about me, this judgment felt really out of line and unprofessional. read more

This place is the oldest massage school in the state, and the therapists that work here are more highly trained than most places. If you're not feeling better or more knowledgeable about your body when you leave, it is a rare occurance. The owner is demanding of his therapists, and won't put up with mediocre. Love it. read more

The first question my massage therapist asked me was not about what I wanted worked on, or about my massage, but whether I had ever had nutritional counseling and if I wanted any as she noticed I was not a good weight. (Yes, that's true, I am not an ideal weight but I was there for rest and relaxation, not for the therapist to allude to that I was fat). Then she proceeded to tell me I needed a "lymph node draining massage" because that will help me to get rid of the "fats" in my body. Again, another insult. I told her, no thanks, I just want a massage to loosen up tight muscles and to relax. I should have gotten up and left but gave her the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. The majority of the time she spent on my "lymph nodes" to drain them and barely spent any time any where else on my body. I used to be a semi regular client but will never, ever, return here. read more
