He presents as well qualified, as though he can do the job, even if way beyond his skill set. He and his fellow crew, which varied frequently, were to replace a part of our roof and ceiling following a leak. 8 months later we are still correcting his mistakes and repairing damage. Eduardo does NOT: * Tell the truth * Work well with other contractors, even those who recommended him. * Provide accurate and reliable quotes, estimates with itemization. * Keep his word. Eduardo DOES: * Talk a good line * Argue * Cut corners to save a buck for himself * Whine * Want a good review on google. We hired Eduardo to repair roof and ceiling. Quote included tarping roof to prevent leaks. Roof leaked not once but three times, damaging plaster ceiling and wood trim. He showed no concern for two over 70-year-olds on roof in the dark and rain tarping roof with our own tarp, or to the damage to our house, plaster ceiling and floors and trim. His response: "It wasn't supposed to rain." We were left with cleaning up their mess and hiring a reliable contractor. Could go on with more details. Have plenty of pictures if needed. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! I just moved into a house in Tacoma and noticed that my sink was leaking a few days after moving in. I thought it was small so I proceeded to put a large bucket underneath and left for a couple of hours. When I returned the bucket had overfilled and there was water on my kitchen floor!! I turned off the water and that helped a bit but it was still leaking. I called around and Eddie was able to come the same day because he just so happened to be in the area. He provided a free in-person estimate which seemed very fair. Especially given the fact that it was an emergency. The entire hot water valve needed to be replaced because it was so old. He immediately got to work and took a trip to Home Depot to grab the parts needed. Unfortunately, it also turned out that my dishwasher had the wrong type of water line so I approved for him to replace that as well. He took a second trip to Home Depot for that part! DO NOT HIRE EDDIE! He comes with a winning smile, handshake and confidence in handling your job. We paid Eddie over $80K for a remodel. Hiring him was a nightmare! If he does have a license it should be revoked! He is not a plumber, electrician or remodeler. He cuts corners using cheap materials and charges you for the higher quality. His work is incomplete and argues that it wasn't specific in the Estimate ... when it is standard with every honest contractor - like leveling flooring for new laminate or including the floor trim. We had to hire a licensed plumber to redo all of his work ... faucets put in backwards, dripping pipes under new vanities causing irreparable damage, leaking toilets at base. If you are not on top of Eddie, he will not show up having excuses, but then sends out incompetent workers that only screws things up with sloppy work and causes unreasonable messes, damaging your quality new materials. Spare yourself a headache and extra expense to fix his work! read more

Update: Edward strongly encouraged me to leave him a glowing review, which I did once the original work was done. However, just because something looks good, doesn't mean it's done properly. Unfortunately this turned into an absolute disaster! I discovered a leak under the sink (not his fault)and needed to pull out the dishwasher to repair cabinet and drywall damage, only to learn the tile had been installed at 2" high and blocked-in the dishwasher. (A skilled contractor would've known it should've been installed under the dishwasher to prevent exactly what happened) I called Edward who came and looked at the flooring and after his failed attempts to pull out the dishwasher, agreed that it was done improperly, contacted the subcontractor who'd left town and Edward agreed to redo the tile as well as fix the dry wall from the leak. I sent him several messages stating that I would have to pay by credit card and he said that would be fine. He started the project, I gave him a $750 check to remove and dispose of the countertop that'd been damaged. He replaced the drywall and left. Sent me the following message: "Good Evening Wanda I don't think is going to work out if you pay me with your CC I can only accept Check, Zelle, Venmo or Cash as a payment, if you can come up with those payments we can continue the job." Just a note, I'd already paid him over 17k in checks for the remodel. I then had to track him down just to come back to remove all the garbage he left in the unit. Once he finally returned to get the garbage, I asked him if he planned to finish the flooring, at which point he acted like he didn't understand me. He then said the flooring was installed properly. If so, why would he have removed it and agree to redo it? (That question is rhetorical) see pics below. I now am left to pay someone else to redo the flooring as well as the drywall, which I learned was also done improperly. My review is simply stating this: You could hire this company to work on your property and Edward may even sell himself to be qualified to do it, but any work he or his subcontractors perform could be extremely costly and damaging in the future and actually cost you more $$$$. I would not recommend him at all! Also, I would urge anyone who hires him to follow up on all his credentials. His quality and understanding is that of someone who's not been properly trained to do this kind of work. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: if a company only has 3 reviews and can't measure up to 3 stars, run! (ETA: The below response is, in turn, inaccurate and exaggerated. I have our contract and any clarifications we needed in writing, and this is unfortunately representative of how things went. I repeatedly had to send screenshots back to him of what he had promised/committed to in order for him to complete what was absolutely clear from the beginning. Clearly, our small job was too much work for this business and he underbid based on how much effort it would take him to shop and supervise. We made ZERO changes to the list of items that needed to be addressed.) We've owned a fixer upper in the past, and I've dealt with my fair share of contractors (general and sub), and this was by far the most frustrating home repair I've ever had to manage. Eddie presented himself well - responsive, enthusiastic, eager for the work. We had a relatively small job repairing remediation from a water leak. The drywall process went pretty smoothly, but they took 5 days after Eddie had quoted 5 days for the entire project. The next issue was that he had quoted a specific amount as a contingency for a likely plan B. (If we couldn't match the existing flooring, we'd have to replace the entire room's flooring.) I had the amount in writing from him. When we had to turn to this plan B, suddenly that amount increased more than twofold. He had "forgotten" to include materials and dumping fees. We agreed to a compromise price. Next, after installing this new flooring, I noticed that he had left an entire section of the room in the old mismatched flooring - he pushed back saying he never agreed to change that section, even though it was part of the same room. Once he conceded that the mismatched flooring should be fixed, the tile he'd done in the rest of the room was sold out (because he'd bought discounted product on clearance). He was obviously upset and quoted that it would take at least a day (delaying completion after now two weeks) to find new flooring, or I could do it. I didn't want to deal with a delay after the project was now 100% over time, so I went to the store and picked out tile and thinset, hauling it and paying for it myself. (It became clear how much he was overcharging us for materials when I did this, as well.) The new tile went in, and he completed after four more days, or so he claimed. I came home to what he told my husband was a "complete" job - the carpet wasn't tacked down, there was missing wall texture, tiles were left un-grouted, and the carpet pad that he was supposed to replace was still missing in areas but doubled in others turning our room into a funhouse. It was disconcerting. He came back the next day to finish all 10 items on my punch list, but the last one, tacking down the carpet, seemed beyond his abilities, and he ended up choosing a cheap, easy fix for the issue, which he installed without checking with me. When I objected to it, he insulted me and said he was "at his limit with [me]." (He walked back the tone of this when my husband came in the room.) Throughout this, Eddie was often not on site with his subcontractors, which led to a lot of cut corners as far as cleanliness and care. We had explained up front that members of our family have severe dust allergies, so plastic between the construction and the bedrooms was important, but if Eddie were ever offsite, it fell to me to watch the subcontractors to ensure quality care of my home, especially after they had done tile demo without any protection whatsoever for my house, resulting in hours of cleaning for me after the fact. When I did request plastic be put up, one of the subcontractors got so upset at me, he hit the wall of my house. Overall, this was the most outright frustrating home repairs I've faced - and I've done MANY. The final product is serviceable, and his subs did a great job with drywall repair, but the experience of managing the relationship overshadowed the quality of the work. read more
