I graduated from TCAT Nashville back in 2018. Since than I have been working as a HVAC and…read morerefrigeration technician. I highly recommend anyone wanting to go and do any one of their programs. Staffs are very friendly.

The HVAC program at this school set me up for success. I'm a recent graduate of TCAT Nashville in…read morethe HVAC department and have found great success within a few short months after having graduated. I have been in the field for about 4 months now and I am currently doing service calls for a local company on my own in just under 3 of those months of being in the field. A huge part of this success I owe to all the teachers there at TCAT. The first 8 months are learning about the refrigeration cycle and electrical side. While the first half of the program is focused more towards book learning it is essential in order for the students to understand what it is we deal with and safety involving this trade. Mr.Alvey was my primary teacher for the first half of the program as well as Mr.Beckman. Mr.Alvey shows he cares about his students and their progress in moving forward with learning this essential trade. Showing up ON TIME, a good work ethic, self study, and respect are key in doing well in this program. The same exact things an employer expects out of you. If you actually try in class Mr.Alvey will support you in every way he can. The second half of the program is run by Mr.Derek Brown. This is primarily shop/lab work. This is where we get to put what we learned to the test and continue our learning with more hands on training. The shop is set up for use to troubleshoot many different types of problems that are seen day to day in the field. Safety is a priority of Mr.Brown and you can ensure he takes it seriously. This man knows what he is talking about so it truly pays off to pay attention and ask questions. For some of these previous reviews it really seems to me we are getting two very different experiences out of this course. It truly sounds to me like some people don't show up and don't care enough to research/study at home. To those people I say good luck in the real world and have fun treating a potential employer the same way you treat this course. I can promise you it won't last long with the type of effort you're putting in. 10 out of 10 will recommend to anyone looking to get into the trades. I use knowledge I learned at this school every single day and I am extremely grateful for every teacher in this program.

There was literally water coming out of the electrical outlets on the floor one day, and nothing is up to date osha wise. If Shameeya Ferguson is still there, I HIGHLY advise you request a different instructor for a "check." Several of my patients refused to come back solely because of her. She made several racist comments in front of my patients and my patients would always say how painful her checks were. She does not know how to properly perform an exam. I get she's a lot older, but that's no excuse to not be up to date with the standard of care! She also has no sense of time management, so prepare to be there for a hot minute. She would dig and dig under my patients gums until they were at the point of leaving because they were in so much pain. If you want a professional and educated hygienist checking your teeth & gums after a student cleans them, this definitely isn't the place. I also understand this school is scraping the bottom of the bucket to find instructors, but it's not an excuse to get harassed.

I admit that at first I was a little nervous to have a student, but I was put at ease to find out that the person working with me was only a month away from graduating a 1 year program, and also because there are several instructors walking around to offer assistance when needed. If anything, the stylist that worked with me and my mom were lacking a little confidence, but I imagine that comes with experience. The services that I used were the Plain Facial, the Hydrating Treatment and the Thermal Style. The next time I get a pedicure, I'll definitely be going back. I've uploaded a scan of their prices as of July 2009 into the Photos Section here. I had a hard time finding them because I didn't have their address when I went and was just looking on Donelson Pike. Be sure to map it out before going if you're not sure where they are. When you arrive at the Point Place Business Park, a sign for the college is out front, too. Drive around the building to the left, and the Salon entrance in halfway down the side of the building. I've also uploaded pictures of the front, as well. We went as Walk-Ins, but they are better prepared without having to wait if you make an appointment.
