New Horizon learning center provides a comfortable learning environment and a friendly and knowledgable staff to help you along your way to figuring out how a multitude of programs work. At this point I have only taken Adobe courses and worked with one teacher, Joanna. Joanna is enthusiastic and commited to understanding every nuance of the programs that she teaches (Most all Adobe Products). She does a fantastic job balancing technical learning with fun and creativity. My only criticism is that as a moderately experienced user, a lot of the content is focused more on the entry level practitioner.. not to say that I don't learn new things and new ways to do things. I will be taking some Microsoft courses in the coming weeks and I am confident that I will be provided with a highly professional experience. I would also note that there are always fresh baked cookies served about half way through the day, a great way to give you a bit of a boost to push you through the rest of the day. read more

I recently took the Excel VBA one day class and was very impressed with the standard of the facility and the tutor. The facility is in the Cross Park Drive area of Cedar Bluff and has a wide array of teaching facilities ranging from Tutor based through to Mentor based. The VBA class was tutor based and ran by a very competent and pleasant lady named Joanna. I would recommend her training abilities to anyone. They also have a very pleasant area for rest and refreshment and surprisingly they had hot Tea. Being Scottish that meant a lot to me. The course was well ran and paced at just about the correct rate, there were many good interactive examples to work through. My only downside is that they do not have a follow up intermediate or advanced class arranged yet and I thirst for more VBA knowledge. If you or your company are considering using New Horizons for future training go ahead and book them, you probably will not receive better in Knoxville. Thank you to all their staff. read more

I have attended various courses at New Horizons CLC for about 3 years now. I have attended everything from light half day seminars covering the overview of a new operating system, to 5-day classes covering fairly technical material. I have attended both instructor led and "mentored learning" class types. I would definitely recommend New Horizons to anyone that needs training in a specific area. New Horizons' techniques are very efficient, and their staff is well trained and easy to understand. Every instructor I have had has been able to answer questions that are often out of the scope of the specific class, proving that they do not just study course materials for presentation. The instructors are highly trained in a broad range of subjects, and are not simply memorizing the questions and answers needed for a specific course. New Horizons has been valuable not only to my company, but also to my personal resume. I plan to keep attending New Horizons for any training I need. read more

Just completed two classes in Project Management. First up was the one day Fundamentals Class (Matt Smelcer) and the week-long PMP Certification Class (Barry Mulkhraj.) LOTS of information in a very short amount of time! I was hopeful that the instructors would have solid work experiences to combine with their instruction, and was delighted to see that New Horizons provided exactly the type of teachers needed for the classes. Both instructors were top-notch and able to relate to both the seasoned employee and those with little background in project management. I thoroughly enjoyed the classes! New Horizons Computer Learning Center does a great job of introducing you to the various aspects of whatever software you are interested in learning. The staff is very knowledgable with the courses and the software in general. Don't be suprised if, in the middle of a class, you find yourself learning something not included in the lesson plan. If there is anything the books don't cover, the instructors are always eager to point it out and explain it to you. After a year of taking classes included in the Internet Design Club package, I have gained an immense amount of knowledge that I have been able to put to use at my job. I recently attended Access level 1 and the overall experience was great. The enstructor was very experienced and still able to slow things down enough for beginners to relate and learn.
