This is our families home church and here at New Hope Leeward, it's not just about attending church, and learning about Gods word but emulating it's teachings in everything that we do as Christians. Being able to utilize resources and volunteering for purposes greater than just ourselves. There's so many ways to grow with this church and actively be involved. We attended a marriage seminar workshop here, was fortunate to have our one year old daughter blessed as well. There are an array of Ohana groups on campus to join, a preschool, and mission trips as well! We love how this church as an organization focuses more on giving back through its community outreach programs! We are sad that they will be converting to one campus as we loved it's Kapolei location which is closer to home. However we are excited to see what is in store at the Waipahu campus as we continue to give back a portion of what God has blessed us with so we can continue to grow in our faith and help others! read more

We've been attending this church for almost 4 years now and God has truly blessed this church! I love how they have 2 Saturday night services (Waipahu campus) and 3 Sunday services so it makes it easier to still do life alongside church. They have childcare available at both sites and every service. They have optional small groups ('ohana groups) that meet during the week to go deeper into the message, the Bible, or just do something you love (like motorcycling, hiking, arts and crafts) with other fellow Christians. They have many events throughout the year that are always fun for the whole family! The staff and volunteers here are so friendly and helpful. The sanctuary is spacious and AC-ed so that's always a plus. If you are looking for your new home church, I encourage you to check this place out! These are the kind of people I want to be around, the kind of people my family and I need to be around. There is no judgement here. All hypocrites are welcomed with open arms. Child care is available and there are several services on both Saturday and Sundays, not only that but there are multiple locations so you have no excuse, lol! Parking like everywhere in Hawaii is sparse, however you can park at kmart and either walk or they offer a shuttle. There are opportunities to get further plugged in by joining small groups or attending different studies they offer regularly. The pastors are real and relevant. All of them convey Gods word in a way that draws your attention to the heart of message instead of drifting to sleep or playing with your phone. I love all of them; Mike, Wayne, Alan, but I feel Pastor Josiah 's messages relate to me the most. Please even if you're not a believer, come visit New Hope. The music is uplifting. The people are encouraging. The message is impactful. You don't even have to come to the actual church. They broadcast the sermons online. Pastor Waynes messages are also broadcasted on 99.5 at 6 am. I have attended New Hope from the beginning. We were there when it all started at the Boy's and Girl's Club in Hilo. It is so amazing to see how the church has grown, all over the United States. Pastor Wayne has always been my favorite. From childhood, I would always attend the adult services because Pastor Wayne does an amazing job of making this so understandable, funny, and meaningful. Moving from the Big Island, I would always go to services when Pastor Wayne spoke. Traveling from Ewa into Honolulu every time. We decided to attend New Hope Leeward because it is closer to home. Not to mention, getting a family of 6 together super early on Sundays, it is more convenient. We were blown away by the great service! Pastor Mike Lwin has a gift, just as I remember seeing from Pastor Wayne as a child. Our oldest daughter even enjoys listening to him speak (age 11). He is funny and down to earth, which I absolutely love. They have nursery and children's church as well. They have a great system for scanning your children in and out. They are grouped together by age, of course expected. When picking up our little ones, I love how they give a report to each parent about their experience. What they learned, how they behaved, and of course their cute projects. WE LOVE IT!! In regards to parking, it is limited as they have security to ensure that you do not park in other business area of the center. Don't hesitate to ask them if you are unsure of where to park. They also offer shuttle service if parking is overflow and you have to park away from the area. They offer coffee, food and pastries. They cook for raising money for different ministries within the church as well. They have the Christian bookstore with clothing, books, DVDs, and much more! I try and limit my shopping in here to once a month because I can get carried away with all the wonderful things they offer. I am very excited for their new venture to the new building coming to Kunia. Praise the Lord! read more

This is my home church, it is a young family church with a little bit of everything for all ages. We have a Christian school, Youth ministries, Young adult and Adult academy classes and we do a lot of community work both here and abroad. The senior pastor for the church is Mike Lwin, a young very energetic man with a huge heart for God. Me and my family attended New Hope Oahu under head pastor Wayne Cordeiro for awhile and one day decided to attend New Hope Leeward to check it out. Pastor Mike had done a service at New Hope Oahu while i was still there and i was immediately drawn to the energy of his message, so i was already expecting that when we first attend a service at NHL, after that there was no looking back. i believe it was the best move for me and my family. The church staff and volunteers are a bunch of loving, laid back people who have a deep love for God. Pros: Great live music, energetic environment for families, great sermons by the pastors, and a multitude of Ohana ministry groups for smaller Bible studies and ministry. Cons: Megachurch that gives a poor experience for new comers and doesn't seem to care welcoming or getting to know people who are new to the church. As a newbie in Hawaii looking to find a new church after being very involved in San Francisco's non-denominational Christian community, I was excited about New Hope. I wanted to learn more about joining an Ohana group in my neighborhood to meet people and join others in ministry. To date I have filled out 3 Info cards at 3 separate Sunday services, and spoke to several of folks at the Info desk on 2 separate Sunday services asking for someone to reach out to me about Ohana groups. No response after 1 month. So I also separately emailed the main email address of New Hope Kapolei requesting to learn more about Ohana groups. Still no response. I have served for 2 churches in San Francisco's Welcome committees for newcomers, and it was important for us to reach out to newcomers and follow up immediately on any Info Cards and requests that came through. I am surprised and disappointed that New Hope Church Kapolei doesn't hold the same standard. After 2 months to date of not hearing back from anyone at New Hope Kapolei, my husband and I decided to look for other churches in West Oahu. It's unfortunate because we loved the music and sermons at New Hope. However it's important for me to feel that I'm part of a church community that genuinely cares and takes the time to get to know people. ----- Update 12/20: NH Leeward's Pastor Josiah contacted me directly and apologized deeply for what happened. Immediately afterwards I finally heard from the Ohana Groups email alias about bible study groups in my area. I appreciate the effort Pastor Josiah made to reach out. Large churches like NH may be experiencing growing pains with room for improvement on processes. Hopefully this does not happen again to other newbies looking for a West Oahu church community. read more

For Waipahu campus, but the other campus are probably the same. I was excited to bring my child here. I referred my friend so her child could go with my child. She and her child toured the school, and they didn't like it at all. The kids are out of control, no structure, bathroom is adult bathroom, they wouldn't show the playground (because it's small). So I decided not to take my child there. I informed the school my child would not be going there anymore. Judy was quick to answer when I was enrolling her but as soon as I decided i wasn't going to put her there, she took long to reply. I informed Judy my child isn't going there anymore, she didn't reply. I emailed her again a week and a day later saying, "Waiting on your response,." She apologized for the delayed response and asked the situation so she can address it and that the refund will be eligible after 90 days. I answered it and Judy never replied. I patiently waited for over 90 days. I came here to get my refund. They don't remember anything at all. I talked to Leka, she didn't help one bit. Not only did she not help she lied. I asked for Judy and she said Judy isn't here. A few minutes later Judy interrupts us and says whatever and I'm Judy. I said, "Thats disappointing." Judy took me in another room and we talked. She barely remembered anything. I thought this is a place where they follow Jesus and spread his word and be more like Jesus and humble. Far different than the church I go to which is Saint Joseph. I've dealt with other preschools and this school is the hardest to get my refund back. The other school gave me back my refund easily but this school is something else. The most I waited for a refund was two weeks and this one I've waited over 90 days and I still haven't gotten my refund. The worst school ever. read more
