Our food was so greasy (literally dripping in grease) and burnt. The spring rolls had chunks of burnt veggies and chicken in them and the eggrolls could be squeezed out of all the grease! As some others have said, the food is okay but not great (in our minds). Ordered take-out from this restaurant once in 2022 and once in 2023 but I won't be doing this again. Both times the price you see on the menu is CONSIDERABLY lower than what you are charged, so please be aware of this before you decide to order from New Haven. It states the "prices may be subject to change without notice", but farther down the site it says copyright 2023, so you would think the prices would be current. When I inquired in 2022 that this was not the price on the menu, I was told the prices had been changed. I was not the one to pick this order up or I would've inquired again...but it wouldn't have done much good, I know. I do not think this is the way to do business (I have worked in customer service for a number of years) and my family will not be back.....it's unfortunate for a smaller town to offer this type of service (taking advantage of potential long-term customers). Best Chinese take out restaurant in Bracebridge. Love their hot and sour soup. Fried wontons are crispy and not greasy. Enjoy beef dishes which are quite tasty. Fair size portions and good quality. Appears to be frequented by many locals and cottagers in the area. read more

We ordered food from here yesterday. The people were very nice while taking the order, however the food was terrible. The veggie fried rice had egg in it and only a few peas nothing else. The chicken balls were over battered and the almond chicken had some type of sauce on it, but no actual almonds that I could see. The egg rolls were very greasy and had little filling. The locals would rather keep this for themselves. It's the best Chinese food in Muskoka, hands down. Everything is made to order, so it is ridiculously hot when it arrives (even for takeout). So fresh and delicious! It's a family business and they are awesome. Everyone who works there is very good. I don't understand the "intrusive" comment about the staff. I've never seen anything like that in all the years. It's 07:45 GMT and this review is making me starving for New Haven's food! The thought of my favourite, chicken chow mein, with chicken balls and chicken fried rice is making my mouth water. So freaking good! I went on the recommendation of a stranger. He was right! New owners who seemed very nice. The place is spotless. the decor is nice. Eva the owner really wants to please. We ordered old fashioned Chinese food. Chop suey, fried rice, won ton soup, Egg rolls, green beans and honey garlic ribs. The ingredients were super fresh. Crunchy bean sprouts delicious green beans. Excellent and very authentic chinese food. The service is super friendly and the portions are quite large. I have been going to this place for 20 years for my Chinese food. Last night, I had the WORST experience. I placed a large order. It was about 1/2 hour late but they were very busy and that was OK. I got home and realized that our 2 orders of chicken balls were missing. I immediately called them to let them know. He apologized and I was told to come back to pick them up. My daughter went in to get them and the lady told her that she was LYING! Our receipt showed that they checked off all the individual dishes of the order except the chicken balls. They said that proved nothing as "we don't check off the last one". They took our receipt from her and refused to give her the remainder of our order. I went in a few minutes later with all of our food still in bags and the lady there told me that I was also lying and that it was impossible that they forgot them! She demanded my receipt and said that she did not take it from my daughter earlier. I was in utter shock. Who does that??? Why would I bring all my food back immediately to get 2 orders of chicken balls? She stood there and fought with us and said we were trying to steal from her. She eventually "found" my receipt in the kitchen and gave me a full refund - after 2 hours from my original order. As I was leaving, she yelled out, "don't come back next time." I still can't believe that this happened after being a regular customer for so many years. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN BRACEBRIDGE. read more
