The VP of ED (Jorge G.) and my assigned mentor (Joanne T.) took a vested interest in me, addressed concerns (aka FEARS) that I had, and allowed me to design a fast track development program to reach my goals. Each meeting is held in a structured professional manner and the immediate feedback received from club members regarding each speech and task performed, helped me perfect my approach. Within a few months, by the time I gave my 3rd speech, members told me that my confidence had grown ten-fold, and that I had acquired such great stage presence. When I joined, communication and leadership track instructional manuals were sent to me via the mail. The manuals contain project modules that focus on developing a certain characteristic, -- e.g., vocal variety, persuasion, greeting new comers, Meeting MC (Toastmaster), etc. -- providing details on how to make each characteristic strong and impactful. There are different roles to play that develops a different characteristics at each meeting. Every attendee is incorporated into the meeting in some way or fashion -- including the guests!
