Finding out that you have a brain tumor is life-changing. It changes your perspective, your priorities, and the choices you make moving forward. Please, listen to your body. Sometimes, the changes we experience are our body's way of screaming for our attention and alerting us that something isn't right. Never ignore those signs.
My recent surgery took place at Cedar-Sinai, one of the best hospitals, under the care of Dr. Patil. What makes this journey especially meaningful to me is that my first brain tumor surgery was also performed at Cedar-Sinai in 2013. When faced with this frightening reality once again, I returned to the place and the medical professionals who had helped me through it before. This time, however, I am moving forward with new medical advancements, evolving technology, and renewed hope on my side.
But as wonderful as medical advancements are, compassion, kindness, and humanity should ALWAYS remain at the heart of patient care.
And CRI did not disappoint!
Throughout one of the most vulnerable and frightening experiences of my life, I was surrounded by kindhearted, compassionate individuals who treated me with such warmth and care. I wish I could name every single person who touched my heart, but there were so many wonderful souls that I simply cannot name them all individually. What I can say is that I felt truly blessed to have been in their care.
Emotionally and physically, I was not as strong as I had hoped to be. There were moments when the weight of everything I was experiencing felt overwhelming. Yet, these incredible individuals did more than care for me medically. They encouraged me, lifted my spirits, gave me strength when I needed it most, and reminded me that even during our darkest moments, there is still so much goodness and humanity in this world.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! CRI has made an extraordinary difference in my life during a time when I needed guidance, reassurance, and compassion more than ever. You may see yourselves as simply doing your jobs, but please know that your kindness reaches far beyond the walls of your institution. Your words, your patience, your gentle gestures, and your willingness to care leave lasting impressions on the hearts of the people you serve.
I will continue to pray that this institution receives the financial support and resources it needs to continue its incredible work, and that the health, dignity, and well-being of every patient will always remain its highest priority.
To every person who played a part in my care, please know that you have touched my life in ways words can hardly express. You were there for me during a time of fear and uncertainty, and you helped bring comfort, strength, and hope into a chapter of my life that I never expected to face again.
Sometimes, the greatest gift we can give another human being is not simply medical care, but the reassurance that they are not alone in their fight.
Thank you, CRI, for being that gift to me. I will carry your kindness in my heart, and I pray that you continue to bless countless other patients and families just as you have blessed mine.
With heartfelt gratitude, love, and prayers,
Thank you for making a difference in a life that needed you more than you will ever know.
