The owner of this also owns apartment buildings in Otisville. Everyone in the buildings have been extremely sick from mold toxicity. There's extensive water damage in each building that has been going on for years. Everyone has complained, shown proof, begged for it to be fixed. I personally had it all tested through Biostar mold testing. The news covered it due to how extremely high the mold counts are and which molds are present. Personally, my brain has had swelling and I had to be admitted into the hospital. So many people are sick. Mold kills. And this guy won't fix a thing. It smells so awful. Everything we own smells. Our daughter is now on constant breathing treatments. They have the money to fix everything but choose not to. Everyone is moving out due to being deathly ill. He even refuses to give families back their deposits, even after they lose everything to mold. I wouldn't do business with this place due to the fact that they lack morals and the dollar sign and greed over rule human decency and to keep their tenants safe. read more

My full kitchen remodel experience with the New Design team has been amazing and stress-free. From the initial planning meetings with Rick Dajos (sales & design consultant), through the months of demo/construction until the very last meeting, I had zero complaints and my kitchen is now gorgeous. I admit that I had some qualms about hiring one company to handle the start-to-finish project because I had been advised that sub-contracting each piece of the process out would save me money. However, when I saw how many tasks had to be coordinated over the past couple of months, I quickly realized I would have never had the time or the energy to do it and would have lost added funds in missed time at work to be a project coordinator. The team even removed a main load-bearing wall and the outcome is a wide-open living space with no hint of where the old wall used to be. Every member of the New Design team was respectful and they took every precaution to keep the other parts of my home clean and livable. Communication during every stage of the process was fantastic and even at the final meeting, there were small things that Rick noticed and had fixed so the end result was up to the New Design standards. I have had a very positive experience with this company, from the start to the finish. I hired them to do a Formica countertop in my kitchen after having bad experiences with two other companies. They did a great job! They were great at explaining the process, and when they found out that something we needed was backordered they made sure to communicate that effectively. They gave us a date when it would be installed and they stuck to it, and their installers were great guys! I love my new countertop, it is absolutely beautiful and well done! read more

Crap! That's what this job is! The "custom" cabinet I paid big $$$ for is as durable as paper. Everytime you come in contact with it, it leaves a mark on the surface. The tiled shower doesn't drain and leaves standing water that smells horrid in a day or two. Not to mention they were chronically behind schedule, constantly making excuses,etc read more

Our journey with New Design was Dec. 4, 2020-Aug. 13, 2021 (nothing to do with covid). We ordered kitchen countertops and backsplashes. Upon initial installation, one worker indicated the backsplashes were not loaded on the truck for some reason (unsure why). Later when the backsplashes were installed, two of the three did not match the design in the counter tops. I contacted Jordan (salesman) re: caulking issues and a couple other things to be redone. I voiced my concern that two of the three backsplashes did not match the countertops. The longest backsplash is the one that would be most noticeable entering the kitchen. He came out and reordered the longest backsplash. On March 18th, Ray left a message for me to call to schedule an installation date for the new backsplash. I left 3 messages for Ray with no return call. I called again, spoke with Angie and explained the situation. She gave me a date of April 7th. When the installer arrived, the piece he brought looked worse than the one we had. On April 8th I called, spoke with Sarah and she indicated I needed to speak with Angie. I did not hear back from Angie. On April 9th @ 5:44 PM, Ray called. He stated he had contacted the company and they may have to come out and look at it. I said fine. On May 24, 2021 a guy from Blasius Inc. came out to assess visual color of the backsplash. Of course, he saw nothing wrong with the backsplash. We were told we could drive to Vassar, the location of the backsplash before another piece was cut for approval. Seriously??, all we wanted is the design we picked out at New Design. The salesman (Jordan) or someone else at their business could have taken the sample at their store to Vassar business because it matched perfectly with our countertops and one of the backsplashes. If there were variances in the design pattern, we should have been told that. They are suppose to be the professionals not us. At that point, we could have decided if we wanted to go with that sample or not. There was nothing done and there was no communication from New Design. On July 23, 2021, I called Angie for some type of resolution. She acted as though she didn't know what to say or do. I finally said discount the price. We discussed a discount and she indicated she would get back with me. With no return call, I called her on Aug. 13, 2021. I asked her for the final bill and told her we would be there to pay it. When we got there, Angie's daughter handed me some papers. I told her I wanted to speak with Angie. She stated Angie was not available. I told her I spoke with Angie and she stated she would be there. She went to the back room and Angie came out a few minutes later. I opened the paperwork she had for us and had her write on it what she had verbally told us about the warranty. We would not do business with New Design again or recommend them. read more

We hired NDI to remodel our 25 year old kitchen, and they did a wonderful job! I CANNOT express how happy we were with the timely communications by the staff, the special attention they gave our job, the choices we had for the cabinets, counter tops, hardware.....everything went smoothly and seamlessly. If the workers were supposed to show-up at 10:00am, they were at our house at 9:59am. There are horror stories out there about contractors, and we were a bit reluctant initially to "believe" that our job was going to go as smoothly as the NDI staff said it would (from Graham, Travis, and Tray, all the way down the ladder), but it truly did. My husband and I still can't quite grasp how beautiful their work and quality is.....and NDI came in at budget with many extras that other companies were not offering. Can't say enough good things about them. read more

I feel that we have no other option but to let others know how poor the customer service is at New Design. The front end is fabulous in terms of design, layout, and materials. However, this company proved unable to keep commitments, and never reviewed the finished product with us. Our builder had to step in to get them to properly complete items that were their responsibility, and months later they are ignoring items that are still not right. They were hoping to do more work in our area, but it will be impossible for us to refer them to others. read more

My wife and I hired New Design to remodel our master bathroom. First off, they took 2 weeks longer the we were told. Second, I had call the project manager many times to get things corrected and/or completed. Third, once the job was completed we had to have them come back out to fix a water leak in the shower wall they built. Also the leak stained the floor in the laundry closet. While the plumber was out, he did something to the faucet which caused it to not work correctly. When they left, I discovered the issue with faucet. I contact the project manager about it. After sending him a video of the faucet and texting back and forth. He told me he would have someone come out the following week to look at the faucet and repair the stained floor. That was 3 weeks ago. I ended up repairing the faucet myself and had to re-caulk the shower glass because it leaked. I still need to take care of the floor. This is a condensed list of issues we had with New Design. We are going to have our kitchen cabinets done in the spring, we will find another company. S.C. Rogers read more

We wanted to do a full kitchen remodel. Met with many firms to discuss and when we got their conceptual designs, they were not at all what we described or requested. Then we found New Design. Graham Goodrich, our Design Specialist, listened and understood what we wanted. He presented us with a multidimensional, colored drawing similar to a photo. We could see our ideas come to life! Graham's professionalism and enthusiasm made the process of coming up with a final plan a pleasure. He had great ideas and his recommendations helped guide us to the best decisions. We also decided to redo our fireplace and Graham came up with a great plan for that, too. Travis Hawk was the project manager, and he did a great job overseeing the work and keeping to the schedule. We couldn't be happier with the end product! Top quality job all the way around. We were especially impressed with the attention to detail. read more

We chose this place based on referral, but wish we would have looked elsewhere. As of today, we are almost double the completion time we were originally given. The salesman (who I mistakenly thought was also the designer) does not return my phone calls or emails and has told me several contradictory things. The design of the kitchen did not account for cabinet doors opening, I was not given everything I had asked for or what was supposed to be included in my price. Originally I was told my counter did not need a template and now I am being told it does. Of course, we have been ready for the template since last week, and the counter people have not been contacted yet to come out and do it. read more

We had a wonderful designer, Yvonne Richards, who did a fantastic job of refiguring our entire kitchen after knocking a wall out. She was very helpful and went out of her way for us. The workers who came into the home were all professional and nice to work with. The only complaint is that planning the project for the workers was not always communicated to us in a timely manner. On two occasions we had workers show up and we weren't informed they were coming. Also, when we were told they were coming and not show up. Communication between the scheduler and the patrons could be better. But We do love our kitchen!!! read more

My total master bathroom remodel was recently completed and it is beautiful. I selected New Design based on a referral but I also received quotes from three other companies. Everything was done on time and as promised - shout out to Tim, my installer and a big thanks to Rich, my designer.
