The one associate I saw was checking out a customer and I assumed she was working alone. However after waiting a bit, another associate came from the back to help me at the pickup counter. When customers are spending good money in your store, basic respect and clear communication should be expected. This is unacceptable, and I will be contacting corporate about this experience. No customer should be treated this way, especially while spending so much money at your store.
