I don't like to send food back or ask for a refund because I don't want to be the reason someone else has a bad day. This is the first time I've ever had food bad enough that it warranted the drive back and asking for a refund. I packaged everything up so it's not like I ate it all, said it was bad, just to get free food. There was maybe a bite missing from each plate, that's it. When I got there I simply said hi sorry but none of this was good. The girl at the counter was initially very nice and said she never heard of someone not liking their food and that she'd need the manager to approve the refund due to the "large order". I said no worries, I understand. Manager came out and was refusing the refund saying that they always made the food that way. He did offer to make anything else on the menu. I told him that wouldn't work for us due to the fact that, as he said, it was a large order, and I didn't believe anything else would be good. He started raising his voice insisting that they would not be in business if they didn't make good food. At this point I was getting peeved and told him that I'm sure that's why they had to close their restaurant side down. He insisted that this is how they run their business and I asked if yelling at customers was how they run their business. At this point I had the male manager and two female staff yelling at me. They kept saying you don't ask for a refund just because it's bad. I said no, that's exactly how a normal transaction works. They told me to leave and never come back. I sent my husband back up, funny enough the male manager didn't seem to want to yell at him. Just a woman. TL;DR, the food was the worst food I've had from anywhere. Manager refused to give me a refund, yelled at me that he didn't care if his business closed tomorrow, told me to never come back, all over $60.

On this day there wasn't many people standing outside at lunchtime, so I gave them a chance. The customer service was good. The staff were friendly and attentive. The ordering process was simple and easy. However, I wasn't blown away by their General Tso's Chicken. It was mostly breading and very little chicken. I'm giving grace because I know the General Tso's Chicken I am accustomed to in the DC Metropolitan Area is a superior product, but this version was missing the mark on texture and flavor which is the identity of the dish. There were signs all over the store about it and a big one at the menu. When I looked at the entrees at the start of the entree bar, I saw they had the label but no Honey Chicken. When I asked about it, I was told the special was over. When I pointed out all of the promotional material, I was told that they just hadn't taken them down yet. WHAT?!?! In order to try to distract me, the server offered samples of their other entrees. And here I thought the old Bait & Switch routine was illegal. The reason I'm rating them 3 stars instead of 1 is because the employee I spoke with was nice and apologetic and then there's the food. I got the Plate with orange chicken, mushroom chicken and fried rice. Portion size was enough to take home and the food was delicious. You get two pieces of salmon and it was nice and flaky, I love that you don't have to choose between noodles and rice at Yume because they give you both! The veggies were okay. They were a bit soggy because of the way they were all steamed under a bowl for a while. I actually look forward to the slight crunch of hibachi vegetables. Our chef was also a little heavy handed with the terayaki, but overall we enjoyed the food. Atmosphere: Fun. Hibachi is always entertaining. Our chef was great with his fire tricks. Good choice for a celebration. Price: Typical for hibachi spots. $25-$45pp. 18% gratuity automatically added for groups of six or more, which is also pretty standard. Overall, I enjoyed it and will be back to try some of the sushi!

The Combo Fried Rice I order was delicious. It could have used a little more seasoning; perhaps with dark soy sauce and garlic. But as is, it is worth ordering again. The Basil Chicken, although delicious, was heavy on the brown sauce that was loaded with corn starch. It wouldn't have been a problem had the sauce been a flavor bomb, but unfortunately it was not. I ordered spice level 4, but what I received was not even close to level 4 spicy. In fact, it wasn't spicy at all. The dining room looks very comfortable and inviting. There is also a bar inside which was unattended and empty. The customer service was very good. The hostess was kind and helpful. I'll visit again when in the area.
