Closed for a while sadly, but it opened back up about 4 months ago. It is an absolute masterpiece. There's kind staff, good food, and over all good vibes. I had the pho and would do so again. I also recommend the sesame chicken. read more

I am so Happy that China Luck is open again. This is the ONLY restaurant I will eat Chinese food from in this area. I lived in Southeast Asia for five years and I got spoiled on the food. China Luck is as close to the food I got while in Asia. Everything is alway freshly cooked and very good. The service is excellent as well. read more

So happy for the return of this authentic Chinese restaurant. Excellent service and the food is delicious.

Ate here with my dad as a kid and still going. They hands down have the best Chinese food. If trying for the first time, order crab angles (plain or Lemon pepper wings also rock) for your app, get the egg drop soup and the moo go gi pan, manderian combo is delish and Vegi fried rice is my personal favorite. As they add old dishes back to the menu Id reccomend the Honey Chicken, Budhas delight and the sizziling rice soup if they can bring them back with time. This place is a must try if you like fresh authentic Asian cuisine! Service has been great as well! AAA+++ read more

They advertise Vietnamese cuisine, which is 50% of the menu, but when we sat down, they told us I didn't have that side of the menu. Worst waitress ever. Brought the wrong soup then lied about all soups but what brought bring out then proceeded to bring the next table the soup I ordered. Standard American Chinese fare nothing special not bad but not great. Cheaper to eat at buffet across street. read more

Food was amazing.Service was excellent. It was a good experience. Restaurant was clean and the waitress was friendly, our food was correct. It was very nice . Our waitress was named Nicki read more

CL has reopened with a relatively simple menu that includes both Chinese and Vietnamese picks. No buffet which is great since warmed over food is not appealing to me. Food was very good and service even better. Happy to see CL back and recommend you give them a try. read more

Just got take out, very disappointed! They opened a week ago and I wasn't able to go in. So I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce and fried rice to go. The shrimp was large and many, but the sauce was very runny and small amount of it. The fried rice was light brown, almost like instant rice. The egg roll was small and very bland. So disappointing!! I suppose I'll give it one more chance and dine in. I hope for a new outcome! read more

Food for the price is excellent, service is fast and accurate, no ambiance, I only order takeout

One of my favorite places to eat when I am home visiting my family. I'm really surprised that their ratings are so low on here. They have the best Chinese lunch buffet in town. It's a small buffet unlike some other Chinese buffets that you see advertised, but the dish selection that they have is always good quality in my opinion. They seem to rotate a couple of the entrees. I really love their hot and sour soup. You can order off of the menu if you aren't wanting the buffet. They are fast to refill waters for you. read more

China Luck Restaurant - #bhamfoodguy - Chinese Near Me - Oxford, Alabama

(Got sick 3 hrs later after posting this review.) Cashew chicken / Dine in: Large portions, ingredients in The entrée we're not evenly distributed, (too many cashews not enough Bellpepper) rice was falling off the plate from over filling, or not having a big enough plate. flavor was fair, for $11 eggroll and drink should have been included, was not. +1 Star for this last point I enjoyed having the Freedom to build your plate as you see fit, (your entrée is brought out on separate plates with serving spoons and you control the amount of food taken from each entrée.) Eating with a large group this would be very "share friendly" Try Zheng's Garden. Never got sick there. read more

Being vegan in this area is difficult to say the least. While there house hunting with my sister in law and niece, we went here because I figured a Chinese restaurant would have a better chance of having something vegan versus the 20 BBQ joints peppering the one big street in Anniston/Oxford. We went there for lunch, which apparently a lot of people like for their all you can eat buffet. Sorry but buffets skeeve me, especially as a vegan. The idea of cross contamination really grosses me out. They did have a very limited lunch menu, and I asked if I could have the meat replaced with tofu, which they told me they couldn't do. Finally, they told me their Buddha's delight was vegetarian and they could put tofu in it for me. People, silken tofu is not Chinese. It's Japanese. And it has no place in an entree, except perhaps in miso soup. Chinese bean curd is supposed to be firm. Why there is silken tofu in a Chinese restaurant is completely beyond me. Well, in any case, my SIL and niece seemed to like it well enough. The food I got was all right, but it's doubtful I'll go back. If nothing else, it was definitely cheap. read more

I have had better, but it is the only Chinese buffet worth eating at in town. When matched up against the other place it makes China Luck look like a 5 star establishment. The buffet is only decent at best and the price is just shy of $10 for the buffet which I think is a little over priced. Do not expect super friendly staff either.....For the quality of the food and service, I think the the buffet price should be closer to $7. I usually prefer to order off the lunch menu which is usually slightly better quality and is actually cheaper. read more

Arguably the best Chinese buffet in town. This place was packed around noon. One of the higher yelp rated competitors had 2 cars in their respective parking lot as we passed. The interior of the building is old but decently maintained. The buffet is roughly $8.00. It has fewer options than most; however, the quality and execution in preparing the dishes is far superior to most. There are 2 small steam tables a small desert area including a soft serve machine and a couple soups. The hot n sour was excellent. Mild in flavor but well prepared and fresh. The buffet items were stocked well and the buffet was well maintained while we were there. The lemon pepper wings appeared to be one of the most popular items. The varied dishes, such as shrimp and vegetables, were really much better than even most take out Chinese joints. I was very pleased with the value and quality of the dishes. My in laws stop here frequently when they're on this side of town. Despite the crowd service was very good. They worked in a collaborative manner to serve guests and it worked well. If you're in the market for a value priced sit down meal of Chinese this would be the spot to go in Anniston. read more

I like this place but the waiter is always rude to me if I don't take the buffet. Good food. Decent flavor. Sweet tea is super sweet. Just no one seems real nice. I spilled some soup one time on my table and my waiter have me one very small napkin.... And walked away. He had hundreds.... read more

The buffet isn't huge (like the mega-Chinese buffets) **BUT** they have a decent selection and the quality is the best. Very tasty and clean food. This is a favorite stop when traveling from ATL to BHM and back. It's not a "Chinese buffet" restaurant, so you have to catch it at lunch, even on Sundays. Friends have favorite dishes from the menu, so that is another option if you miss the buffet. read more

This place is nice. Their buffet has so much. If you want to eat a ton of good Chinese food and California rolls go here. They have ice cream, veggies, and all of the fried stuff you could ever want. For the buffet price you can't go wrong. My fiance and I order Korean food off the menu and it is good too. read more

Ohhh this place is horrible! I should have know by the looks of the paking lot that this was not going to be a pleasant experience. The food had been sitting there for a long time none of it looked fresh. The flavor was very typical and there was nothing that set it apart from every other super buffet king buffet. Definitely not recomended unless you starving to death. I think that the 3star must have been an employee rating this restaurant because there is just no way anybody would rate this place 3 star. This goes to my list of restaurants that SUCK !!! I would never go back here again. read more

The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere pleasant. The food on the buffet was fresh, hot, and had a good taste. The sushi wasn't bad, we will definitely try the sushi again next time. My wife and I stopped by for an early afternoon bite to eat before a movie. The price for the both of us was around $17.00 so the price was very good. The only downside was the service, our server wasn't very polite however anyone can have an off day. We would recommend a visit. read more

Don't listen to the other ignorant people's reviews. This is the best Chinese food in the area, and possibly the state. My parents took me here when I was a baby, up until I moved away to the West Coast, where I have been desperately missing it. The egg rolls at China Luck are, hands down, the best egg rolls I've ever eaten in my entire life, and I've eaten a shit ton of egg rolls. The hot and sour soup is also some of the best I've ever had. My favorite entrees are the moo goo gai pan, sesame chicken, and szechuan beef. The lunch specials are cheap and portions pretty big. One star deducted because I feel the quality has declined a bit through the years (they changed the recipe for the mandarin chicken and it's just not as good). But I will always make sure to return when visiting my family. read more

Best Chinese food in town! One of our favorite places to eat. I saw a lot of poor reviews bases on the service, but I have never had anything but efficient and proper service. I never have to wait on refills. We get to-go orders a lot (& for a family of 5, it is always a large order) & it has always been accurate! read more

This is a good place to visit for Sunday brunch. Choices of food are good. The people are nice and friendly. The server never came back to "check on " us or to refill our drinks. For a quick Sunday lunch yes. read more

Rating this restaurant for its buffet offerings is just wrong. It is not a buffet restaurant, nor is it a takeout place. While they may have a portable buffet table for lunch offerings (and to-go boxes), where China Luck shines is in its sit-down dining. I have eaten at Chinese restaurants across the country, and China luck consistently delivers food that is outstanding - and on par with the best. From their Sesame Chicken, to their Hot and Sour Soup to the Phoenix and Dragon, the quality and quantity are outstanding and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is upscale enough to make you concerned that the menu will be pricey, yet it is reasonable enough to be a weekly destination. There are better buffets around, but for sit down Chinese - you cannot beat China Luck. read more

Perhaps the worse Chinese restaurant in the area. Terrible service and even worse food. I ordered a Beef with black mushrooms . When my dish came it had one shitaki mushroom and four or five white mushrooms. When I asked why I only got 1 black mushroom with my Beef and Black Mushrooms, I was told because" most Americans Don't like black mushroom " I ordered Beef with Black Mushrooms? Then she said it is good ....eat it. Well let's just say Don't waste your time and money. It was not good . read more

I ate the buffet on Thursday at 11:05 am. The food did not taste fresh. I didnt not enjoy.

ABSOLUTELY the BEST Chinese I've ever had and I've had lots in my travels! I was greatly impressed with the portions, the size of the meat, the price and how expertly we were served and cared for. We never had to ask for a thing, it was offered! We went to the early hour dinner from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. For $8.95 we got a Spring Roll, fried rice and two entrees! The shrimp were HUGE as were the portions! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant! read more

This place has a good Chinese buffet at a good price. We ate here for lunch and my wife really enjoyed the food.

Inside is verry steamy and very smelly. Our clothes reeked. Everything on the buffet tastes and looks exactly the same and appears old and dried out. What really turned us off was that the sushi and the ice cream/desserts were side-by-side on the cold table. Ew. Even the soft serve ice cream tasted funky. The wait staff was okay. I had the buffet, not made to order. I still get queasy thinking about this place. After having eaten there for several years, we noted it just got worse over time. Standing water on the floor when we walked in the last time. Try New China on Greenbriar Dear Road. Fresh choices there! read more

This is the only "sit down" Chinese place in this area -- not typical fast food Chinese. It is very popular, considering the number of cars outside at lunchtime. I do not like this place. Have been there a couple of time. The food was OK, but not worth the price. Also, the management and some of the servers were extremely unfriendly, in my opinion. Several of my friends love the place, but if that is where they plan to eat, I do not go. read more

Not very good -- food was bland and buffet was extremely limited. Also, buffet food had been sitting out too long. A big disappointment if you're used to good Chinese food. read more

Meh pretty much sums it up. I went to the lunch buffet today. I tried the Happy Family, Garlic Chicken, and Szechuan Chicken. They all tasted basically the same. All had too much salt, and the shrimp in the Happy Family was slimy. The Crab Angle had just a smattering of crab mix in each triangle. The beef in the Beef and Broccoli dish was okay, nothing special. The best flavor was in the General Tso's chicken. The chunks of chicken were a nice break from the "pressed" type chicken in the first three dishes. However, it tasted more like Sesame Chicken without the sesame seeds than a General Tso's. The only vegetarian option, Buddha Delight, didn't even had snow peas which is a staple of the dish. It had ZERO flavor, I'm serious, nothing. I had unsweetened tea as Splenda was an option in the sweetener container. There was only one, and I use two per glass. I asked for another. When my tea was refilled the first time, I asked for two more. The waitress seemed put out "you want TWO MORE?" Yes, I said, two more please. The next time my glass was empty, she just gave me a pointed disgusted look and ignored it. The host noticed it was empty and asked someone else to fill it, and of course then the search for two more Splendas ensued again,. It might seem like a small thing, but it added to my overall displeasure for this experience. If you have the time, it's more than worth it to go the extra 4 or 5 miles up the road to No. 1 China Buffet. JMHO read more

China Luck is the best Chinese food in this area. Exceptional service and food. Prices aren't bad either. Try the crab angles!!

Some of these "reviews"........Just not true. One person saying they were frowned on because they didn't get the buffet. Not true. I NEVER get the buffet and have eaten there for many years. I always get the lunch menu or occasionally the dinner menu, but because I am allergic to shrimp it is easier for me to order without getting a buffet that might contain shrimp/shellfish. I don't make an issue of why I choose the menu and I have not been frowned at over the choice, nor hassled for it in any form. Someone sounds paranoid. The food is good, plenty of it where I usually have to ask for a take out container, and service is not an issue either. It is clean and well liked by many. It stays packed, so parking at times is a little difficult, but not too bad. The prices are also a good value. Your meal comes with fried rice, an egg roll and choice of soup and side bowl of fried wonton strips. I recommend it to others. read more
