We first met Joe when he came to our home to give us an estimate for what we were looking to do…read morewhich was a renovation of the kitchen and some additional items throughout the house.. As soon as Joe came in I realized that him and I knew a lot of the same people in the area as he was a local kid from Middle Village and so was I. After a few times coming to the house and telling us what he can do and us telling him what we wanted, we were able to settle in and agree for the go ahead of the renovation. Let me just say that was a great move. We interviewed many contractors but Joe seemed to know what we wanted. He also knew how we can improve on what we wanted. Joe has vision from his many years of being in the business. Needless to say, he was fair in his price compared to the other contractors that we had met. Throughout the course of the renovation my wife and I were astounded by how clean and neat they were. In addition I was very happy about the way his team conducted themselves in my home and how respectful they were in front of my two young daughters and my wife, which I very much appreciated. The finished job is awesome. Joe and his team did a great job in transforming my old 70s kitchen to a more modern up-to-date classy looking kitchen. My wife and I couldn't be happier. We recommend Joey Cotoia and his team for any kind of renovations that you need within the house. He will work with you while giving you great ideas. He will be fair with his cost. Thanks Joe, Tony, Chris and team for giving us a what we wanted.

So that's been fun. Fast forward to this past fall, where we finally decided to tackle the (frankly, horrifying) first floor; kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room and adding a desperately needed powder room. Given that our second floor and attic had already been redone, you could say I've been around the ol' contractor block. We've had some good and some bad, but no one I trusted to do the entire job. As my wife and I were figuring out what we wanted, and could realistically afford to do, my neighbor invited us over to see her newly renovated basement. This was previously a raw space that was now pristine. It looked like new construction in a 100+ year old house. And our neighbor had only the best things to say about her contractor, Joe. We eventually setup a meeting with Joe and he really goes the extra mile from the jump. He and his wife Karin are wonderful, down to earth people who didn't seem bothered by the toddler chaos going on all around us while we spoke. They even took us around to see past jobs of similar scope. Endlessly helpful. When we decided to move forward, cost was obviously a factor. Joe was honest, transparent, and willing to work with us to stay within our budget. Once the job started, it went as smoothly as one could hope. Joe's crew are a great bunch of guys. I won't lie and say that not having a kitchen for 10 weeks with 2 young kids is fun stuff, but they made it as painless as possible. The workspace was always clean and we had a path to our fridge. And they took the time to do things right -- leveling out ceiling beams that could have passed as a template for a skateboard before putting up sheetrock. Joe called regularly with status updates, and to hash out any unclear requirements. He'a got a great eye for design -- making a number of suggestions we were thrilled with -- from room layouts, down to details like a barn door for our laundry room. He suggested cabinets that I had reservations about at first, but ended up loving. He and Karin even came with us to pick out countertops and appliances. Above and beyond. To wrap it up, finding a good contractor is hard and we found a GREAT one, so I was almost hesitate to write this. I don't want y'all booking him up until 2022! I've got a couple more jobs to do!

Not only was their quote within our budget but the ideas and the professionalism which was displayed had us hooked. We didn't even get a quote from another contractor because we knew that Armen was the guy for us. They took our apartment and made it into a home. Communication with Armen was great- we spoke almost every day and knew exactly what was going on. Armen has a lot of passion for his work. He will work on your home as if it was his. With that said we did go over budget but after it was all done it was worth it. If you need contractor for big or small jobs, A&E brothers is the way to go. Trust me you will not be disappointed with the final product. PS- Even after the work was done Armen is always willing to help on minor things which may arise.

The team's attention to detail was impeccable. If we had suggested something that wasn't good quality, they always provided us with the better option that was the best price for what we needed. The open shelving and the cabinets were not reinforced into the walls, had started coming loose, and were at risk of falling down. Joseph and his team solved my problem by building proper load bearing walls, and on top of it, helped to redesign my kitchen and reconfigure my cabinets space. The team handled everything from design, demo, ordering, move out/in, and reconstruction very well. Their attention to detail was spot on and I felt comfortable fully putting this project in their hands. Now I get more utility out of my kitchen from the details that the team put in--no more wasted space in cabinet blind spots, hidden corner lazy susan--and it looks amazing.

He took the money and did nothing -- no demolition, no construction, not even a permit filed (confirmed by our co-op management). Then he went silent. I told him my 83-year-old mother's health was declining, documented by her own physician, and that she couldn't safely be displaced for a renovation. I asked for our money back. He agreed on the spot -- then never paid. Months of silence forced me to hire an attorney just to get a response. Through counsel, he has already admitted, that he owes us this refund. My mother is 83 years old and sick, and this money is needed for her medical care. Yosef Tatik has known that since May. He has let a frail, elderly woman wait for months on a refund he has admitted owing her. He took our money, did not perform any work, and has shown no urgency or decency about giving it back.
