For me it has always been my very special linen shop it allows me to buy rich Irish Linens for my table and Italian plates for my special dishes that I love to cook. They also have the prettiest pitchers for water or a vase to grace your table with flowers. Every summer when we get upstate our home is filled with friends... a few years ago one of the young guests (she was 12 at the time) found the most precious skirt that she ended up wearing all weekend she loved it had a bit of a fun whimsical flair that could be dressed up or down. It has become a tradition where we all go to her shop and look for special items. Some collect art others have bought the finest Apéritif crystal glasses there is always something special but even more so is Sue Goettel she runs the shop and makes your visit so meaningful she gives you the history of what your buying and always makes you feel like your at home. Sue is the type of store owner you can call and tell her what your looking for she probably has it if she doesn't she will go on the hunt for it this is a store that is worth visiting when your up in NYS or at the very least take a peek on line!

As well, she is patient and won't pressure you when you're just glancing at an item. To top it all off, she has vintage designer fashion hats in excellent condition that fit my big head!! Think of those beautiful pieces that women wore in Mad Men and all the period pieces. That's what she has! They are reasonable too! I ended up buying three while visiting the area and have received endless compliments. I also have a thing for statement jewelry. She has that too! Check out the earrings that I wore for a stage performance. I've posted a photo. :D Thank you Sue!

You can wander, explore, and keep finding new things around every corner, it's the kind of shop you never get bored in. And somehow, you can even grab something to eat while you're there, which just makes it even better. What really sets them apart though is what they do for the pet community. Their Rescue Round Up events are amazing and show how much they genuinely care about animals and the people who love them. It's more than just a shop, it's an experience and a community space. Definitely worth a visit (just plan extra time, you'll need it).

Inside though you will not find aisles of produce and snacks, but instead a unique collection of antiques, vintage finds, collectables and home goods. Each booth, and there are dozens (I think I read there are over 100...) is specifically curated by it's owner to offer their own unique collection. We walked past a booth of old school toys and action figures, another of milk glass and those little trinkets that everyone's great grandmother seemed to have a collection of. There was a super interesting booth filled with crystals and magical vibes, meanwhile a booth just down the way was filled with colorful vintage pyrex and tupperware. We saw handmade jewelry and knit goods, trading cards, oil paintings, figurines, ornaments, beanie babies, and so much more. Each booth uniquely it's own. We ended up wandering for almost a couple of hours... but honestly I could have spent the entire day there.. so many treasures to discover. Other things of note: - There are several spaces on various levels.. So grab a shopping cart and explore. - We didn't stop for food but there's a diner-esque spot in the back serving up salads and sandwiches. - Dressing rooms (and I think bathrooms) were located up at the front entrance by one of the registers.
