As a Londoner I have a lot of excellent tattooists on my doorstep, but I travelled up to Coventry to be tattooed by Joanne Baker at Grizzlys. Although it's not been long since she was an apprentice, Joanne is very professional and extremely talented. I know a lot of people who travel for her charming illustrative style and unique watercolour effects. Watercolour has become quite popular but Joanne somehow manages to get her splodges look just like drops of pretty pastel paint - and her colour palette is unusual, so her designs stand out from the crowd. I really can't recommend her highly enough.

( which i must say in my opinion is above and beyond what any others have done. ) others have had me draw them myself and tattoo'd that on me, complete with my own drawing mistakes. The staff are friendly and gentle and the space the studio in is cosy but not cluttered. The music choices were also calming but still upbeat (not heavy rock/metal) so the atmosphere was really chilled. Sare (@sareush on Instagram) tattooed me and she was awesome. Her tattoo machine was really gentle & quiet and I'm so happy with the *almost* finished piece (I say almost because I had to run off and catch a train so there's a little bit of white shading left to do!) I find it a bit strange they don't have any mirrors in there…read more just wrap you up and send you home. both tattoos I had should have been simple to do. first one was done on the back of my arm so I didn't get to see it until I got home. it was wrong. when I went back the next day he tried to blame me for it saying I saw it first and after. I did not. Now I've been to another tattoo shop who said they can see he made a mistake and tried to fix it by making it bigger but that part should not be that big. The second was ok but placement was not good. I showed him what I wanted but couldn't see it he showed me on his phone it looked ok. then when it was done sent home. if I had the chance to look in a mirror I would seen I didn't like the placement.

My…read morefriend reccoemended tattoo 2000 and advvise me that the tatootist in there was very friendly and really helped you choose your design and was there for advice and also made you feel at ease and explained every aspect of the tatoo process and also the after care etc..well i eventually did it, and she was correct he was loverly, he really made me feel at ease and also made sure that i had thought it through properly and made sure i really did want one. Eventually i decided on a butterfly on the bottom of my spine, makes me laugh now im older and wiser!!! why i was so keen to have one there.i think my hubby is the only person to ever see it..hehe! He was really grest, the tattoo only took 20 mmins but every couple of mins he made sure i was comfatable and dealing with thepain ok etc etc. He explained all the aftercare and also gave me his card incase i needed any further advice or work etc. The design was great and its sort of a black tribal type butterfly its quite small but its really classy well in my opinion anyway. I would reccomend this tattotist shop to anyone as i think he was very straight forward and very open, and made sure you were ready to have something put on your body that would be there forever.
