10/10. Matt is an extensively awarded artist and Nevermore is regularly rated the best tattoo shop in the area. Hence why I chose this spot. I've had two pieces done here (so far), a small elbow piece that was basically copy/paste (as requested, and executed flawlessly, black only) and a masterpiece on my thigh derived from just a few song lyrics (full color). It took over 20hrs for my thigh because he really does believe in delivering excellence, and sometimes that may mean coming back for a beauty pass (free, by the way) to get things just right. He knows you're making a life long commitment when you choose him as an artist and will do what it takes to make sure you're thrilled with your new piece. I'd also say he has a gentle touch. Tattoos hurt, duh, but he makes sure it doesn't hurt more than it needs to. They also have a really cool recovery process that keeps your stuff looking sharp and heals up in about a week. They're also a great bunch to chill with while you're there, and it's always cool to see the other clients coming and going to see what they're working on (and it's all pretty dope). I plan to bring my husband here for some work, and definitely will be back for any of my future ink needs. Nevermore is high quality at a MORE than fair price. I won't go anywhere else, and I can't wait to go back. read more

This is the only shop I go to here in town to get my work done. So far my experience with Charlie and Matt have been nothing but great. They are both extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and talented. I have 2 pieces going currently, one from each and I love them and can't wait to see them complete. The atmosphere is beautiful, I enjoy that it's so unique and reflects them both. Charlie has been working on my left arm and I can't rave enough about her artistic eye and how much I love the way she draws and colors eyes. Matt is working on a dragon sleeve for my right arm, and the detail alone in the line work has me all excited to see what his vision looks like complete. Randomly found Mat, looking for through all the portfolios in the Tattoo Parlors online in the Clarksville/Nashville area. I was looking for a certain style and wanted someone who did the 'style' a lot and not just someone who could mimic the style. Someone that would be able to cover up an older, large tattoo. Almost, went out of state until I found Mat's stuff, which the tattoo he had to cover up, didn't even phase him and said he 'cover up a black box if necessary.' Is Professional and charges less per hour than what I would have expected, and accurately deducts for time when breaks are needed. We was able to coordinate together for the best colors to pop on my skin tone. His name is tied to it, so if I went a direction that he thought was a bad idea, he tried to skew my point of view towards a route that would look the best. He wouldn't just take my money and just tattoo whatever composition/layout I wanted, without some type of professional input. He can also draw/freehand in a moment's notice. I had some extra space and told him I wanted 'this, this and this.' He flipped my arm over and it drew it in seconds with detail as if he took it home and sketched it. More than a one trick pony. I've seen tattoos come through his shop, from Pokemon to anime characters. Go to Mat, regardless of what shop he is at, if you have 'art' to tattoo. read more

I went here a little over a month ago to get matching tattoos with my best friend. Nothing crazy, just two words and a small image next to it. After we were done, twitch put wrap on us and sent us on our way. My best friend took her wrap off not even four hours after the appointment. I took mine off three days in. Hers healed perfectly fine. No fading, no ink fallout, and no blowout. Mine on the other hand did not heal as well. Some of my ink fell out. So here I am a month and some change later back here in ky, and I hit up the shop to ask to get it touched up. They have me come in to take a look at it and tell me to come back later on that evening. I had asked if I would be getting charged for this touchup, she said no. Well I go back later that evening, and twitch is trying to charge me $50 for a "setup fee". Like, huh?? Didn't you just tell me I wouldn't have to pay anything? And this is a touch up, insurance that you as an artist are displaying good work. Why would I pay $50 when you should have got it right the first time?? I DO NOT recommend going here. They may have a warm exterior, but they're scam artists. read more

Recently requested a double thigh tattoo from Matt to cover up extensive scarring. Matt responded almost immediately to my request, and understood exactly what I was looking for. He can take what you're envisioning and bring it to life. Both thighs are extremely detailed works of art, and he genuinely puts the time and effort into your work. Furthermore, as a nurse, I can say I trust his extremely thorough sanitation measures. He cleans all material thoroughly and maintains a clean technique throughout the tattoo. read more

I have chosen 3 stars instead of 1, because we only dealt with 1 person for our experience. I don't know if the entire establishment is like this or if it's just the person we dealt with. I went in with 2 friends to get ear piercings. The man who helped us was named Rooster / Micheal. He was rude throughout the piercings, saying things like "You're fine, it's not that bad. I study pain so I know." He climbed on top of my 2 friends for their piercings and raised his voice during them. It was quite unpleasant compared to our other piercing experiences!! He also did not sanitize our ears before piercings, and chose oddly different earrings for each of us even tho we were getting the same piercings. The next day (and for the next week) we all had swollen, throbbing, tender ears. I would even wince when my hair brushed my ear (and that was with taking the max ibuprofen & Tylenol on a 4hr rotation) so I knew something was very wrong! Apparently, my ear had started to SPLIT down the middle starting at the conch. I chose not to return because I didn't trust him touching my ear again (my friends felt the same, so we went elsewhere to fix it). It turns out he had used very cheap earrings, chosen the wrong gauge AND shape/type for all the piercings, which led to up to our issues. We all had *instant* relief after we had our piercings replaced. My split ear is healing ok now. Regardless, know that if u go here, don't see this guy unless u want to be assaulted and in pain for a week... read more

I went all over Clarksville one afternoon shop to shop trying to find someone as interested in my Ideas and thoughts of tattoos I wanted. Most shops just said take a card and like us on Instagram. I almost gave up and then on my way to Sonic to get some food I saw Nevermore Galleries. I stopped in and was immediately greeted. By the way this shop looks phenomenal inside. Anyhow I met Matt, he was working on another client. However he still gave me attention and we spoke about what I wanted. Immediately I could tell he was excited and enthusiastic about doing the piece. Anyhow, a few weeks later I was getting that piece from him. It turned out amazing. My experience with them was beyond great. They are all friendly and they made the environment feel so amazing. Julian , he was my artist. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and a budget. Not only did he surpass my expectations of the tattoo, he was a hype man when it came to parts that where painful. He would see me move or hear me make a noise and say "I know, but you got this" I won't go to any other shop. I move home soon but I'd be so willing going drive the 3 hours from home to here for him to tattoo me again. Everyone in that shop is amazing. They are all just great people all around. Haven't gotten the second session done on my piece but will be finding a new tattoo artist. Disgusting finding out how the artist and owner talk about female clients and the lack of respect. And answering phone calls and tests while tattooing somebody and touching the trash can lid with the same gloves you're using to tattoo somebody is pretty disgusting and wrong. read more

DO NOT GET A PIERCING HERE!!!! I went to a different tattoo shop to get my nose re-pierced for my bday and the piercer was not there. I went to Nevermore instead, because I wanted my nose re-pierced because it was my bday. I knew that guy Michael pierced me wrong because I bled like crazy! I'm talking dripping blood... and he didn't even sanitize the area beforehand even though I was very CLEARLY wearing makeup (bright pink eyeshadow and everything.) I've had my nose pierced 3 times before and it's NEVER done that. I saw it sinking in, but I thought maybe it would be okay. I was wrong. The day after I got my piercing the piercing had sunk under my skin. I went to another piercer at a different shop and he said he's never seen a nose piercing that bad. He took it out and now I have to let it heal for 2 weeks before I get it re-pierced again because the piercing was so bad, I couldn't even put in a new piece of jewelry in. It was pierced in almost a straight down angle. I regret going here. read more
