I stayed in the hostel for a week when I was visiting Istanbul. In a very true sense it is everything that a hostel should be and nothing more.
There is a comfortable lounge downstairs and a good sitting area on the ground floor. From the first floor up you can find the rooms, the is a shower and toilet on every floor and some rooms have private ones. The toilets and showers work well and are cleaned regularly. The beds are comfortable and clean. The only real problem is the noise from outside if you have a room on the street side, closing the windows doesn't really help.
There is a nice breakfast in the morning with fresh orange and apple slices, but also bread, yoghurt, choco and cereal. There is always water, tea and coffee available and a fridge is provided for personal food.
There is a free WiFi available that works well and an old computer that you really should use unless you want an exercise in patiences.
Lastly the hostel has an good location near the centre of Galata, not to far for the Taksim square and a 5 minute walk from a tram line to the historic peninsular and the ferries quays.
I had no serious complains during my stay in the hostel. read more
