There are tons of beautiful people staying here. I think people stay in average of 4-5 nights here. I' m in a four person dorm and I love it! This place is like being in a boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious with luggage sized lockers with combo codes. Each bed has a bookshelf storage, personal light, sheets and towel. The bathrooms have a large overhead shower head, paper towels, foam soap, toilet paper and almost always clean . The bunks have enough room to sit up and not slam your head on the top. Good for someone if they are 6ft or taller too. The staff are so friendly and helpful With all your needs. Free computers and wifi. Awesome location and amazing rooftop bar with the best view all day long of Istanbul. Foosball and Football games on . The only downside is the claim they have the "cheapest beer in town." Bunk does not, the little grocery stores do. So unless bunk lowers their beer prices to store prices, they should stop advertising that and also take off the draft beer if you don't have it for purchase. You only have one drink menu, it should be easy to take it off the menu and reprint a new one. Also if you keep your cheap beer slogan , lower the price a little or put it on happy hour as well. That's my only complaint. I believe you'll fix that before I return again so I'll let you keep the 5 stars . If not , the next review may not be 5 stars. The room was spacious and had a sink - which was great for us to brush our teeth and wash our faces in without having to go into the communal bathroom. The only drawback of the room being the shower was glass-enclosed, a weird choice for a two-person room. Pros - good location (close walk to Taksim square) - good price - accommodating for lone/busy travelers: they offer different specials throughout the week for travelers to meet each other on their rooftop terrace (which is amazing and provides a fantastic view of the city, by the way), when we were there it was all you can eat pizza and wine for 35TL! we figured these events were perfect for those who traveled and explored all day long and may be too tired to adventure out for some dinner, or didn't want to spend their night alone - english-speaking, friendly staff - accepts euros, american dollars - arranges private transportation to/from airport at a flat rate Cons - a few bugs in our shower (small gnats, nothing too bothersome) - shared toilet was pretty gross by the end of the night/morning - our 7:30am ride to the airport arrived a little after 8am

The Hostel and Cafe, Archeo Cafe, are owned by lovers of archaeology. The inside contains replicas of cave paintings (from France, Spain, and Brazil), artifacts (Standard of Ur), and wall paintings (Çatal Höyük). The owners are still working on decorating the hostel and hope to add decorations inspired by early Turkish archaeologists and the Neolithic site of Göbekli Tepe. The Hostel offers several 4 and 6 person mixed dorms, 4 and 6 person male only and female only dorms, single rooms with a shared bathroom, and single rooms with a private bathroom. Many of the rooms offer a beautiful view of Galata Tower. Each floor contains two showers, two toilets, and two sinks. They're extremely clean! The water is hot too. Overall, this is the best hostel in Istanbul that I know of. The owners and staff are incredibly nice and the hostel is very clean. This is the place to stay if you love museums and/or archaeology.

I just…read moreneeded a bed for night before my return flight, and picked this cause it was the most decent, legit looking hostel in the vicinity of where I was staying previously and didn't require me to descend the hill. Walked in the day before to pay for my room on the spot, and they thankfully had a room and accepted credit cards. The next morning I came by and had to ascend a flight of stairs in the back to store my luggage in a random linen closet that doesn't lock. Then I sat for free breakfast, which is very simple and very protein-light, but I'm certainly not complaining about that cause it is free. There's a lot of city information around and the guy at the desk was helpful in giving me the info for where I planned to go that day. When I came back after the long day and wanted to check in, they suddenly couldn't find record of my payment, even though I had just paid the afternoon before. Thankfully I had a credit card receipt to prove I paid, but I was peeved that if I had paid cash, this issue may not have been resolved as quickly. It's at that time I was now informed that my "stored luggage" was on the 2nd floor of a stairwell that doesn't connect to the stairwell I needed to get to my room. What the hell? The icing on the cake was that my room was on the top floor of the other stairwell. My exhausted self was really cranky about this. I had selected this place so that I wouldn't have to do so much climbing after a long week, and this defeated that purpose. When I finally reached K2, I learned that outlets were only by the door and none in the inner room. The bathrooms were also strange in that the toilet is up a flight of stairs INSIDE the bathroom, and there's no dry shelf or ledge to rest anything, like your clothes or toiletries. Maybe you think I'm a high-maintenance grump who's too old for run of the mill hostels anymore (I often do), but great ones still exist at fairly affordable rates, like the one I stayed at in Thessaloniki, Greece. So, if you have selective hostel standards, I'd say keep looking.

It's on a moderately quiet and interesting street with a cafe that opens to the street--great for lounging and watching people pass by. Yet, the Galata district and then a quick tram ride away is the Sultanahmet district with the historical tourist stuff, and uphill a few minutes and it turns into the main nightlife district and eventually Taksim Square. My room was clean and spacious; I shared with 7 other people in a dorm room, and the bathroom was down the hall a little ways. Overall, a good hostel experience. The prices were very reasonable and I would definitely stay here again. The breakfasts in the morning were quite nice, and the seating arrangement and space encourages people to get cozy and meet strangers and be social. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful with whatever I needed.

Between 4 and 5 stars but rounding down…read more What I liked: -the location was great, felt super safe and was close to a lot of the major tourist sites like the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque -the staff were incredibly friendly and made a point to learn your name. They were outrageously kind and trusting -everyone I met at the hostel was amazing and I made some great friends. It was a wonderful atmosphere socially made possible by the great dinners they hosted nightly -the beds were notably comfortable. I slept better at the hostel than I did at home. What I didn't like: -the wifi was not great. It was fine for your average visitor but I was trying to work remotely one day and it just was not strong enough to have zoom meetings etc. -they don't take cards, which is reasonable for certain things (dinners for example) but having to go to an ATM right after landing to take out a (relatively) obscene amount of cash isn't ideal -the breakfast was very, very limited. Obviously no complaints since it's free, but I would have preferred a better paid breakfast Overall my main complaint was the wifi since it rules it out entirely for future remote work stays, but I would absolutely stay again otherwise.

Our room was a double, private with bathroom, and very clean. Steep stairs will take you to the rooftop bar where you can have a breathtaking view of the mosque. Really loved the cozy atmosphere of the hostel and the outdoor seating. Traditional breakfast buffet of vegetables, cheese, egg, fruit, and the coffee was simply amazing. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Really loved this place!

There is a comfortable lounge downstairs and a good sitting area on the ground floor. From the first floor up you can find the rooms, the is a shower and toilet on every floor and some rooms have private ones. The toilets and showers work well and are cleaned regularly. The beds are comfortable and clean. The only real problem is the noise from outside if you have a room on the street side, closing the windows doesn't really help. There is a nice breakfast in the morning with fresh orange and apple slices, but also bread, yoghurt, choco and cereal. There is always water, tea and coffee available and a fridge is provided for personal food. There is a free WiFi available that works well and an old computer that you really should use unless you want an exercise in patiences. Lastly the hostel has an good location near the centre of Galata, not to far for the Taksim square and a 5 minute walk from a tram line to the historic peninsular and the ferries quays. I had no serious complains during my stay in the hostel.
