Outside of knowing a few drink recipes and types of liquors, I went into the class just wanting to take it for fun and learn something new. Ms Lana is an amazing instructor. She has a ton of knowledge and made me feel comfortable behind the bar. This is not a lecture only course which I loved. You're getting hands on experience with learning how to pour, bar etiquette, and maintenance. Although you're practicing with colored water, the material comes so much easier when you're actually doing it. The class was around $300 for 2 weeks with day and night options. I felt like that was a great value and took away a lot from the class. On the second week you have shot night where both classes come together and learn how to layer and pour shots with real liquor. That was easily my favorite night of the course. On the last day, you take a written test and "graduate" with your TAM card. I tell people regularly about this course and how it is a core memory of my Vegas experiences.

I got the pleasure of working with master mixologist Nicholas. He has worked in an extremely vast variety of different bar settings from southern Nevada to nothern Utah. I so appreciate his wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of mixology. Nicholas welcomed me into his home, as I didn't have a place for us to use for our training. During the training I was able to polish up my pouring skills and learn recipes as well as the origination of many well known cocktails. We also delved into the fun new world of specialty craft cocktails, and I look forward to really dialing in my new techniques to create delicious new creations. It was not until I told them that theyve been reported to the FCC that they finally stopped texting and emailing me. I know what a scam looks like but hey good job trying to twist words to make it look like a "misunderstanding". And anyone can look at the accounts of those 5 star reviews. It doesnt take a lot to realize that theyre fake accounts. Where accounts that look like mine who have left negative reviews about how they were scammed out of their money are clearly real humans. All the employees, all the way up to the owner Rick, were always accessible and available to answer any questions any student might have. * Bar Management Specifically o I took the course because my wife and I are opening a bar. Over my 12-week course Darryl and I were afforded many opportunities to discuss ideas for our specific business model as well as the Las Vegas & national bar industry in general. It has proved to be priceless for me as some of the things that came out of those conversations will be used in some fashion in our operation - whether it be in the planning and development phase, the actual operating phase or in the setting of longer-term goals and expectations for our business's future, including growth and expansion. o Darryl is incredibly knowledgeable and has an amazing ability to teach people of a wide variety of ages, backgrounds, experience levels, knowledge bases and learning styles. You MUST go to 1st Academy School of Insurance (and, if you're lucky, you'll get Lisa McCombs)! I'm sure all of the instructors are great but Lisa was top notch. Her experience and wisdom helped me to breeze through the exam as I never have before. Having taken other insurance exams of this nature, I was prepared for the worst and thought there was a good chance I'd have to retest if I failed. Not only was it the easiest test taking experience I ever had because we had been given the materials and stories to make it easily retrievable in our minds but, I PASSED on the first try. I took the fast track night classes two and a half weeks before I just took the test (due to PearsonVue's backup and a vacation I had coming up) and was sure that length of time was going to do me in. I swear, I can't properly explain how SIMPLE the test was and how prepared I felt based on the class and the Exam Simulator Test and Quizzes online. THANK YOU!

Via the weekly coaching calls with AJ and Johnny, Core Confidence, and implantation sessions with Michael I have been able to work on myself and get out of the funk I was in. During this past year, I got the courage to start doing things I wanted to do even if that meant I had to do them alone. I had an accountability buddy and made weekly commitments that are a large part to the daily routine I have for myself now which includes morning workout, work, healthy meals, reading and meditation. This routine has led to 40lb weight loss and a more positive mindset. I worked on building on my current relationships and now have deeper friendships due to the skills we are learning and homework assignments. Another highlight this year was receiving a promotion which had a lot to do with the skill I learned throughout the course. The communication is terrible, staff give conflicting information, and when you raise legitimate concerns, apparently the solution is to ignore them and then blame you for the lack of communication. My family is still paying tuition while my concerns remain unresolved. That alone says enough. I came to this school expecting professionalism and accountability. Instead, I left feeling completely dismissed and frustrated. I no longer want anything to do with Milan Institute, and based on my experience, I would absolutely not recommend it.
