Since the owner wants to try to discredit me through his response and I cant edit my review. I did in fact unsubscribe to all of their advertisements. They kept on spamming me for 3 days after I unsubscribed from emails and responded to texts saying I was no longer interested and to take me off of their list. It was not until I told them that theyve been reported to the FCC that they finally stopped texting and emailing me. I know what a scam looks like but hey good job trying to twist words to make it look like a "misunderstanding". And anyone can look at the accounts of those 5 star reviews. It doesnt take a lot to realize that theyre fake accounts. Where accounts that look like mine who have left negative reviews about how they were scammed out of their money are clearly real humans. HOT MESS SCAM My wife thought a mixology lesson would make for a fun Christmas gift, we signed up for an in-home lesson last month. We described this to the instructor and organization on a few pre-appointment calls. On the day of: -The instructor showed up over an hour late for the appointment -The instructor said they were in pain from recent surgery, and showed their surgery staples -The instructor forgot to bring the tools and training liquids that we were told they'd bring for the lesson -The instructor was confused that I was not training to be a bartender, said they did not know what to do if I wasn't going to be a bartender. -After 30 minutes of awkward conversation, the instructor left. -But not without asking if we could give them gas money. Since the above could not be described as a worthwhile lesson, we called the organization to ask for a refund. Since asking for a refund: -The organization has refused every request for a refund, saying they would be forced to impose a 'cancellation fee' which would eat the refund. -The organization has missed deadlines they told us they would respond to us by. -THE INSTRUCTOR CALLED US TODAY ASKING WHY THE ORGANIZATION HASN'T PAID THEM. I wasn't taught anything, extremely unprofessional, super corporate, corporate keeps almost everything and barely pay instructors, no location so you have to go to a strangers house, and when I perused a refund, they refused. The contract I signed stated that I can receive a refund at any point if I'm not satisfied with the service provided. When I reminded them they were contractually obligated to refund me, I never heard a word from them again. This company tried to scam me out of over half a grand and I'm excited to get my money back through disputing the charge with my bank, which they have no way out of as they put in writing that they're obligated to. I had a 10:30 AM appointment for them to call me to get information for going to this school and they were more than 45 minutes late calling me. I set up an appointment for the following day for the same time to call me and they never called me the following day at all. This school is unreliable and lacks credibility. I guess I will find a different school in Las Vegas and make the drive there instead. read more

Hello, My name is Justin Paul David. I recently completed my in person mixology training with local bartending school. I couldn't be me pleased. I got the pleasure of working with master mixologist Nicholas. He has worked in an extremely vast variety of different bar settings from southern Nevada to nothern Utah. I so appreciate his wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of mixology. Nicholas welcomed me into his home, as I didn't have a place for us to use for our training. During the training I was able to polish up my pouring skills and learn recipes as well as the origination of many well known cocktails. terrible scam company do not waste your money. they where unprofessional i learned nothing in my course. i paid for a 6 hour lesson with my instructor mykki she did a no show our first meeting then i rescheduled and she came to my house for 4 hours and talked the entire time about her past jobs and how she doesn't understand why people pay so much money for classes. i should've seen that as a red flag, i was supposed to move my remaining 2 hours for the following week but had no communication from anyone and then when i did they insisted my class was finished. i didn't push back on it too much since the instructor was unprofessional anyways and made my ears bleed with so much in important information about herself. after paying about 450$ i found out from a friend i could easily get a permit online for 50$. when i signed up i was under the impression i'd have a license and a job with itching two weeks. that did not happen. I had a great experience with LBS. The in-person instructor Dave was WONDERFUL! He went above and beyond to make sure I had a fantastic experience and his teaching methods were top notch! He even went as far as taking me to a couple of local venues for some hands on training. The online courses could use a small upgrade but most of the information given was pretty useful. This "school" is a scam. There's not a location to make payments instead you have to make a deposit into a Bank of America account called Lesson Pro LLC. Allan (who doesn't have a last name) told me I can make a payment starting with $100 then I spoke with him a week later he asked for a $300 deposit. He said there are 4 different courses which range from about $300-$899. This has to be paid before you start the class. Which is odd because I've attended classes in college and the payment plan does not work this way anywhere. Allan made it sound like he was here in Oklahoma City because he kept saying "you're here," repeatedly. But when I gave him my location he was clueless. He sent me an emailed and for some strange reason he was trying to get me to sign the waiver ASAP. I didn't know where that would have taken me if I clicked on it. So, I told him I'll do that later. I wanted to do my research on this establishment before I proceeded. That's when I came across the bad reviews. He also told me my instructor's name is Tanya. But judging from the reviews, it doesn't look like she's here and I don't know if she even exist. Classes aren't taken at a bar like how they look in some of the photos uploaded by the business owner. He said it's one on one in your home or theirs. I really think these photos are false and just another way of trying to scam people out of their money. It says they're located in Vegas. I know for a fact there are a ton of scam artists there. If you look at the photo with the certificate (two men are in this photo) you can Google etips and do this online course yourself for $40. They're trying to charge about $300 for the same online course which is suppose to include the basic mixology techniques. Also, the photo with the certificate of completion doesn't have a state seal of approval. And another photo, I can clearly see there's a man trying pour drinks from a couple empty bottles. There aren't any liquid coming out of them. I looked up LBS Bartending, they are not accredited by the BBB due to complaints on products and services. You can read the reviews on the Better Business Bureau's website. One person wrote they showed up to a location in Nevada because the instructor couldn't make it to her home (it took her 45 minutes to drive there). It turned out to be a rundown trailer that had the scent of marijuana. A child answered the door. He said the instructor wasn't available. She spent roughly $1000. A refund was never fully issued to the lady who filed the complaint. THERE ARE A LOT OF RED FLAGS WITH THIS PLACE, SO PLEASE BE AWARE. Honestly, I wasn't sure how prepared I was going to be originally coming out of the course. Dave has given me the tools and confidence that I can use to land a bartending job in the very near future. He helped me get comfortable with everything from; perfect pouring, recipes, garnishing, knowledge of setting up a bar and how the food & bev industry works internally. This "school" is such a joke, I spent a grand to get my certification and learned nothing. I was told my teacher was going to come to my house and teach me personally and that never happened, I had class 30 mins from my house with other students where we poured with water every class for 2 hours, not to mention the communication is awful and my teacher canceled or rescheduled class over 5 times. The whole class was supposed to be 4 weeks long and it has been over 3 months and I still haven't got my certification or been contacted in weeks. Do not recommend at all. read more

I was assigned a local bartender to teach me in person. the bartender ended up doing most of our classes over FaceTime or zoom which I felt was alright. I did pay for in person classes and im sure it would have been more beneficial to do all my classes in person but again, this didn't bother me all that much. my instructor was great otherwise, as was everyone else who had a role in my lessons. the resources provided by LBS are fantastic, LBS not only teaches you to bartend but teaches you to do it on a very professional level so even if the license means nothing to you other than a means to step foot into the bartending industry, have faith that you will be trained to bartend at the most professional level, learning all the skills and qualities that make a successful professional bartender. Of course there are many ways and easier methods to become a bartender, LBS provides you with a great way to get started or even grow if you are a bartender already. My recommendation is to take advantage of all the amazing and special resources that LBS provides you. read more

i just finished my 3 weeks of LBS and i wont lie the instructor i had was amazing he was kind sweet and respectful, although the whole LBS business seems overly scam like on the phone with Allan i didn't get a lot of information about the course and he just kept bringing up payment plans i wont say that i feel scammed i just feel like i could of maybe done my schooling cheaper at a different place if you choose to take the course and your in or near calgary alberta ask for steven as your instructor he brings and entire set up to teach you about the tools and all of the different layering's for mixed drink and mixed shots/shooters sorry for the relatively longer review but rather people be well informed then go into it blind like me read more

I took the one on one class in Reno. The course was very fast and very easy for the most part they tell you what you need to know, what drinks "YOU" need to look up, what tools you may encounter and so on. They make it easy to learn through the website and I got emails every other day asking how I was doing and if I needed anything. But It wasn't the course that really got me though. I had an amazing instructor. He is a local bartender who has worked for all the local casinos and bars, had a ton of experience and knowledge and was very patient. He definitely made this new adventure much better. I found a life long contact through them and that's priceless. ;) read more

Joey was my tutor from Lancaster, PA. He's a great teach but moreover, he's a great friend as well. We had two sessions together due to my conflict of scheduling, it was almost 5 hours. Do not waste your money or time. Pushy salesman tactics. The certificate LBS promises is a certificate of completion. This certificate of completion is not recognized by your State or employers. Do some internet research on what your State certificate requirements are. You need a TIP certificate for most States. LBS base course is $300 for 12 hours of 1:1 instruction and does not provide TIP certificate. Next level of LBS instruction is $500 for 15 hours 1:1 instruction and provides TIP Ecertificate. Most States do not recognize TIP Ecertificate. The TIP training must be completed in person or via live web classroom. Most State accredited TIP trainers charge $30 - $50 for 4 hours of in class TIP instruction. For 3 hours of additional instruction and a worthless Ecertificate you are adding $200 to LBS base $300 course. As I stated earlier, a waste of money. Be warned: if you contact LBS for information and decline signing up for a course, LBS will continue to spam you with emails for weeks following. Do your research and avoid LBS. read more

Absolute garbage... This is my first ever Yelp review. I took the time to actually write a review because it was so poorly managed. So, that should tell you how poor of a program this is... You do NOT get a placement - no matter what they tell you. So, a job is not guaranteed after the course (which was something I was promised when I signed up and paid the extra fee). Furthermore, my instructor was not given any material or directions. Local Bartending School basically just told her to "figure it out". The instructors do not receive any sort of formal training or certification from LBS - therefore, quality control is poor. All in all, would not recommend to anyone. Especially due to the outrageous price. And let me be clear; I'm not disgruntled. This was merely a side gig that I thought would be fun - more of a hobby than anything else. Well, it is a sketchy business. My experience was odd. First I was contacted by Alan who was very abrupt on the phone about payments, something didn't feel right so I told them to put me on a payment plan to insure if things went left I could easily call my bank and have the payments stop. Since he never told me directly where I would have to go to get my lessons, I figured I should stay on the safe end. After paying the first installment of $299, I received the plastic Amazon tools one of the other reviews described, and a packet of classic "old school" drink recipes. After explaining on several occasions that lessons at my home wouldnt work they tried to convince me to go to NYC bar for a lesson, however, there was also someones home in PA. I live in Rockland County, NY. Anyone in the tristate area knows how expensive a trip to the city can be between parking and tolls. Nevertheless, I told them PA would be fine. I spoke briefly with the instructor in PA, the meeting call was supposed to be at 8 pm but Regine (another LBS worker) called me at 9 pm with the PA instructor (Kyle) on the phone. Kyle was an awesome instructor! I felt comfortable in his home, despite the advertisement stating that the lessons could be done at one of the LBS locations or a bar. Now Regine had trouble collecting money from my card, called me about 2 times, and sent emails. The problem was on their end, no one really apologizes for the inconvenience it caused me. After I was finished paying and finished with my lessons, they sent me a link to complete the Tips certification and the ATAP certification. ****I do apologize for the length of this review but I just want you guys to get the full picture*** I paid for $699 for: 3 lessons with instructor (2hr/session) - Online Video Course -24 Hours Of Total Instruction -Bartending certification (Nationwide) -In Home Kit -Job Placement Program -Bartending Workbook -TIPS I am waiting on the job placement which I dont think will happen. Overall extremely unorganized, sketchy "business". I hope my certifications are legitimate as I search for a job for myself. read more

Probably the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. The "instructor" was an INCREDIBLY creepy man who spent all of the "class time" (you have to meet them places, which is weird enough. I'm not talking classrooms either) talking about his own achievements and telling me what a hard time I would have. When I asked to be switched to another instructor (this was 700 dollars, so I wanted to learn something), but they kept telling me to tough it out, or it would take too long to switch. I put a down payment to start my classes at LBS and experienced car troubles where I was just not able to afford it anymore. Three days later I tried to get in touch with somebody about a refund. I couldn't get ahold of anybody and left several messages to have them call me back. When I called the customer service number, the only line someone picked up was for sales. Obviously they could not help me, but it was the only person I could get in touch with. They promised someone would call me back within the day. I received no calls or messages. And had to try to get in touch with them again the next day. The guy, Clay, who sold me the classes answered and said there was nothing he could do, and that the only person that could help me, Allen, has been leaving me voicemails and missed calls. I haven't received any of those. This has been a very stressful experience, and it should not be this hard to inquire about a refund. They really need to get organized, so that if this happens again, they can assist their customers better. I'm glad I didn't take the class, it probably would've been a waste of money if their lessons are anything like their customer service. read more
